Finally got the update for the BES mod, love the new sounds. By far, the Mercedes and the BMW sounds were most notable and by far my favorite improvements after watching my old replays from earlier this year.

Only issue I have is the cars seems to sink into the ground abit. It brings whole new meaning to "lowrider" :lol:

Anyway to fix that?


Also, gonna try out that Dubai track now, Had some practice with it in GTR2 recently (ironically, the first game I drove the track in six years ago and thought "It was awful" :lol:)
 
I'm not much of a fan of Dubai, but then again, I don't enjoy tracks that lack visual cues for corners. Dubai has a lot of sweeping corners into tight corners, or corners over undulations that are difficult to pick up on. Anderstorp is a good example of that.

The only fix for cars sinking into the ground is to adjust the collision feelers (should be one of the .HDV files in the vehicle folder), but I'd imagine that involves a lot of trial and error to get right.

My old replays (done pre-update) have the cars sinking in the ground but the one from the lap I just did doesn't :odd: Just weird


Also, That NFS Dubai conversion is frustraiting. The Frame rate was painfully slow, I gave up before I even made a whole lap. Reminds of that IDT's Awful Long Beach and Toronto tracks. Overall:

It was awful :grumpy:
 
The Dubai Autodrome I have is the one from GTR2 from the controversial FIA GT Championship mod for rFactor. Yeah- the super-old mod. I still sometimes I could play something like the Dubai Autodrome from "Shift 2 Unleashed" in rFactor.

It has really been a while since playing rFactor for me. I still think it is one of the all-time greatest racing/driving games ever released. rFactor on its own is great. rFactor through the modding community is even better. I would still recommend rFactor if anyone is asking if it's any good. My PC in its current state is no good for rFactor 2, so I'll stay with rFactor 1.


[UPDATE] Or maybe I SHOULDN'T try a version similar to NFS Shift 2 Unleashed's version after reading RACECAR's post...

Any guys here who are experts on physics?

Do you know how to make the car alot lighter over bumps, the car i am working on atm is completely stuck to the ground :P.

Any help would be appreciated.

Now in the WEM mod and going in the ARX-02A folder, I find its SFX folder to look like this:

Looks familiar, doesn't it?

Now back in the Endurances files and from the ALMS 2013 add-on, I find this in the P2 HPD SFX file:

And Finally I go in the P1 HPD Folder, the folder I'm interested in doing so experimenting with, and what do I find in its SFX file? This:

Have a look at the engine file. if it's not the exact same as in Enduracers, sound may be different due to different RPM pitch.

Also check if they modified .wav sounds but kept the original names. Some modders do this.

I've been changing the mod HDV's and thats it. (Creating a custom BTCC roster :P) . On the RFE tracks, it works fine until you get to Race mode. Knockhill 2011 also has this issue. Yet, it works alright on Virtua LM Fuji.

EDIT: And now works again on the RFE tracks? :odd:

Sorted all that. Now trying to understand how to use "ComparitiveTime" and how to assign talent files. Anyone got any tips?
 
I have something strange as well
I've downloaded the 1997 layout of Buenos Aires
When you normally drive out of the pitline you can still see the tarmac
But when I drive out of the pitline the sky lowers and you cant see the tarmac or anything of the track you can only see clouds
What could be wrong?
 
What does your trace file show?

This is the line that's the result of the crash to desktop, which is also the last line that shows up since the game exits.

setup.cpp 2313: Could not find Alabama500.ini

Every line before it is normal rFactor trace results. I've not dealt with getting tracks to work so I'm not sure what to do about it. Most of my "fixing things" experience with ISI games were in F1 2002 when I was updating cars and fixing liveries, but never touched tracks unless one I downloaded crashed due to a missing texture.
