Rinoseat - What Happened??

can anyone tell me if this seat has adjustability in the standard basic form, as i emailed renato asking for more info and received a reply back with alot of optional extras and prices. Quite a few of the optional extras were to do with adjustments, like additional angle for pedals etc, so was wondering if the seat is adjustable without these optional adjustment extras?

thanks for the reply jayreen, i wasnt actually clear though you have answered my question in regards to seat adjustability. i was wondering about the rest of the rinoseat too, like wheel angle/pedal angle, optional extras give you these adjustments but what if you dont buy the extras, can you still adjust pedal angle and wheel angle etc?

There are no extras for adjustability, almost everything is adjustable in the basic version.

The only extra options you can choose are the shifter support, and the colour of the frame and the seat. Nothing to do with adjustability.

Soon there will be an option to mount inverted pedals, but it's still in development.

So there are 3 angle positions for the wheel and pedals. You can also adjust :

_height of the seat (higher will make the seat less inclinated, lower more inclinated, I might be wrong but regarding to the frame, I think I'm right).
_space between pedals and the seat
_height of the wheel (higher will make the wheel closer to arms, lower will make further)
_height of the shifter holder
_left or right position of the shifter holder
_closer or further to the wheel for the shifter holder
_closer or further to the arm for the shifter holder

And I just learned that Renato add some drills to improve adjustability of the space between the wheel and pedals. The max was 66cm, it will be 72cm now. It was done after a customer request. Even though I don't really get the point of this setting (if you are tall, have long legs, so have long arms too, so why putting the wheel closer from you? Well, I think it's a matter of taste), it's good to know that Renato listen to customers requests.

As you can see, the frame is very adjustable, and I assume everybody can find the best settings.

At the first look, I was concerned about the seat, which doesn't have the back angle adjustability. But like real racing seats, I think it is set to have the best angle for comfort. The few reviews mention a VERY comfortable seat, and I do believe them since I owned the first Rinoseat myself which was perfect about comfort, despite the look which can get us wrong. I could stay in it for hours without any pain, and I know Renato made the comfort a top priority for this new seat which looks way better than the older one.

I personnally am really confident about finding the perfect position for me.

hey thanks for the informative reply, i will ask rinato to send me a invoice now.

There are no extras for adjustability,

when you say that then what is meant by this list renato sent me? option number 21 22 and 23 give adjustability and at extra cost too, or am i reading it wrong?

Indeed I wasn't aware about these options. I don't know what it is. You should ask to Renato.

Same for me, received my tracking number today, and have been said it will be activated friday or monday.

yes i asked renato a few days ago if i have to buy these extras to adjust the rinoseat, he has not replied yet. however there must be standard basic adjustments as it says additional adjustments for the extras

Adjustments:

if you look at the pdf files in optional adjustments you will see...

http://www.rinoseats.com/gtr1.html

The pedal angle are 2 longer steel rods to increase the height at the front of the pedals and get 16 degrees. I dont think it is necessary but should be not cost much to try- I would suggest inverted pedals would be a better option to add.

the seat angle are 2 longer bolts to increase the height of the back of the seat to make the seat base more horizontal. I think this is unecessary as it equates to a bus driving seat.

Otherwise the seat has so many adjustments it is a neat fit from the first drive.

Same here, except for the extra options in my order are still not coming, being the inverted pedals and keyboard holder until a later date. Hope my seat is coming by plane, and not by boat as poor CPA went through.

True that. When I get mine, I'm signing up for iRacing with their current promotion of buy one month for $12, get two more for free.
Currently I spend all my time on Rfactor, and love it.

Want to try iRacing, but been waiting for my cockpit to arrive before I purchased. Only have to the end of this month before the promotion runs out.

Hopefully Rfactor 2 will be out soon, then I can decide wether to go iRacing or Rfactor 2. Knowing me, I'll just go both in the end.

mmm interesting, never heard of this before... what are the advantages vs GT5 online, don't really see the point of paying for online racing when gt5 is for free... Must be missing something, please tell :)

Greetings from belgium

iRacing is different league in compare to GT5.

IRacing is more real, way more it is all in the details which build more complex image and in face immersion at least for me.

Plus by driving mx-5 in iRacing I am truly better driver with better understanding of my real life mx5.

It is good training.

It is no joke.

iRacing is the closet thing to real life, and therefore is a true simulator. Yes it does cost money, with certain subscriptions of monthly ($12.00), 3 monthly ($30.00), yearly ($99.00) or 2 yearly ($179.00). Because of its costs, is the reason why I've held off for such a long time, but it's meant to be the best. All the tracks are laser scanned, so every bump and crack etc from the real track is in the game, plus the cars are pretty much straight from the telemetry of their realife cousins.

Where as Rfactor I personally would consider to be the second best simulator out there costs $30 to purchase and that's it. You get so many cars and tracks. But then you get onto 'Rfactorcentral.com' and then download any car or track you wish, literally hundreds. But hopefully Rfactor 2 will be out soon, and the pics and videos are very promising.

The only problem with these two simulators, is you need a half decent computer, or at least a decent graphics card.

Unfortunatly even though GT5 claim to be a simulation, they're far from it still. I'm in the wrong forum here, but I prefer Forza 3 over GT5 for realism of car handling.

let me know when your tracking number is activated, still nothing here...

I really want to order this, but the waiting game you guys are going through would kill me. I am actually looking at the Sim Seat. Anyone have any feed back on this? All rigs that I am looking at are out of stock. What is going on with Playseats, Obutto, etc.

No I still have nothing going, I get this message when I press on the link;
"No information, please check your item identifier "

Four (4) business days from transport company to post office to activate a tracking number seems ridiculous. Hopefully Tuesday will be the day. Obvisouly I don't know where the Post Office is, but Zagreb where the Rino Factory is located is in the Capital of Croatia, so I would assume the post office wouldn't be too far.

Who knows why this can't be activated on the same day. I think I read something from CPA, as here in Australia, once you hand something over to the Post Office with a intended tracking service, that it's immediately activated and viewable.

I hear that!!, been wondering myself how the hell it's possible to receive a tracking number last wednesday and still not being able to track it by now(next tuesday)... i'm emailing Renato, this doesn't make any sense.

anyway, here's my tracking link... seems all 3 of us have the same problem...

3 MONTHS since payment by now!

ok already received a response from Renato

quote:

Hi
We sent last week your shipment to our forwarding company.
They do not send every day (first to croatian customs).
They raise several shipments and then send.
I'll call them to expedite.

I know that we late, but please, do not panic.

He's giving them a call so let's hope they'll activate the tracking numbers tomorrow...

I got the same email. The bit i don't like is this point;
"They raise several shipments and then send"

It sounds like they require so many orders before they ship. If this is the case, how many do we have to wait for before they decide to post. Honestly that is a joke.

Does this waiting include the 5-12 delivery time then? They have a lot of work to get it to me then before this time runs out.

I think a better system needs to be in place for having these things shipped. Possibly no middle man to transport to post office. Unless I'm confused in what the statement is saying and I'm completely wrong. Things work differently here in Australia.

Ps. Tuesday wasn't the day for tracking number activation either.

I'm afraid I'll have to wait till mid/end of march to get my order. 2 months and an half of waiting now. At least We got our tracking numbers which mean Renato actually sent our orders to his forwarding company.

But as far as I know, this company can be very slow. It's been one week I received the tracking number. It could take one or two weeks more to be activated, then adding one or two weeks of shipment, and it would bring us to mid/end march...

On 8 march it would be 3 months of waiting. Let's hope it won't take that long at least to get an active tracking number...

Well no activation again.

I really don't understand the process here, doesn't make sense what so ever.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I understand it;

Renato finishes the product, and packs it etc. A courier type company or fowarding company as Renato puts it, comes and collects the finshed seats from the factory with the intention of deliverying to the post office.

But the courier will collect so many items (ie 50 items, from various locations) before they deliver the goods to the post office. Once at the post office, they start with the posting process which must bypass Customs before shipping. It is at this time when the tracking number is activated.

Is this correct?

If this is the case, Renato I think you really need to change your system. I don't know if you don't own a utility or truck etc to deliver these items yourself to the Post Office, but this system is a major let down.

As a paying customer to get a notification that the item has been sent, yet it may take a week or more before it's actually in transit, is ........ :banghead:
It's not really a 5-12day shipping time, when you need to add a week for the forwarding company to pull their finger out.

The bit I really don't understand, is how Renato can get a tracking number before it is at the post office? and then it can't be activated until they recieve the item. :boggled:

In Australia it works like this;
If you use a courier, well self explainitory that the courier will deliver via their network and tracking is activated on pickup. No Post Office is involved, only Customs for International orders.

Post office, once you hand over item to the post office, tracking number is allocated to you, and activated and sent on its merry way via Customs for International destinations.

Either system you choose to use, you can track your item from the moment it leaves your hands.

If I'm wrong, can someone please explain it too me.
