Rinoseat - What Happened??

The cockpit is painted, of course (powder coating - black OR aluminium grey OR black&orange). I promised my first customers that they will publish the first pictures. Then I will publish the pictures in the gallery on our new web sites.

As you can see all my pictures and videos are green :crazy:

On all pictures and videos Rinoseat is unpainted, because it is the first commercial cockpit of aluminum tubes (pretty hard to do).

I juste orederd mine too. The G25/fanatec compatible one, full black, with fanatec shifter holder. Should receive it at the end of the month or on early january.

I will write a full review, testing it with Fanatec and G25. Hope I could post it on late january (it depend on when I receive the Fanatec GT3 RS).

did you pay via western union?
 
Yes, I did. Faster than bank transfert. You pay 20€ for the western union transfert, but Renato reduces the price of 20€ too, so you actually don't pay anything.

It's pretty simple, you make the transfert on the website of WU (as if you paid something on the net with your credit card), and you receive a code which is associated to the name of the person who will get the payement. You just give this code to Renato, and you are informed by email when he went to a WU office to receive his payement.

I trust him because I already bought the Rinoseat revolution, and I know he's professionnal. About WU I got no reason to be concerned since you must have this code and an paper ID to get the money.

One day after my WU transfert, I received a confirmation email saying Renato got his payement.

Have to wait one week more to get a shipping confirmation, and one week again to receive my Rinoseat, if delays are respected.

Sorry for my poor english, I'm French.
 
Well I'm getting a little concerned and fustrated. I sent my money to Renato in November, with a shipping quote 2 weeks later. That time has now passed and still no confirmation shipping email. When questioned I was informed that he was waiting on further parts. So politely accepting this, I believe that by now it would have been posted, but NO!

Now, I don't want to feel like I've been scammed, but when I look into it further, what evidence is there. The GTR has been shown since November 2009, with postings from Renato that it would be available by March 2010, with a comment by Renato saying that it will be available in 2 weeks, but that topic seemed to go dead.

Come recently with new posted videos of what I believe looks to be a great product, and after making contact to Renato I "assumed" (never assume) that the product was ready for sale as I was given a quote etc like others. NO mention was made in the emails that the product was behind in production etc. But, I've researched and researched to this date, and I can't seem to find one single person in the world that owns a GTR yet!

There is no postings of new pictures from Rinoseats themsleves or the public, no reviews, NOTHING! I see that other people have also purchased this product since October/November as well, but they havn't received theirs yet either. Everyone seems to have a comment of an excuse/reason as to why they havn't received one yet.

Is this a scam? How much longer will the public keep believing, without a single unit shipped?

Great Christmas to remember! Even if I do get my Rinoseat, it would appear to be in the new year, when technically I should be sitting in it right now!

Ps. Yes I have sent emails asking questions as to it's whereabouts, but surprise, surprise. I got plenty of return emails immediately when asking questions about the product to purchase, but as soon as payment went through, emails seem to be non existent now.

Pps. I actually do believe the company is legite, but where is the customer service and updates, but more importantly, WHERE IS MY RINOSEAT GTR!

Renato advised me today my GTR is shipped and I will receive this or next week.

Can I suggest no-one sends anymore cash until we get the units and confirm here..
 
You guys have to understand one thing about racing sim hardware, most companys which sell high end product are very small companys, with few employees. Actually, they often are on their own.

In exemple, A1 pedals, or CST pedals are built by only one person. Some customers have to wait 6 months and more sometimes!

Rinoseat industries's got the same issue. Very few people in this company, and they have to wait after some external providers, which means some big delays.

So, when you buy this kind of products, you have to be very patient. If the seller says one month, let's compt two. Especially if you're one of the firsts custommers.

I'm conviced it's not a scam since I already had one of their product at home and I know I wasn't the only one. But I had to wait more than one month while Renato said 3 weeks. I would blame him if Rinoseat were as big as Logitech, for sure...But it's racing sim...It's not as popular as you might think.

In another forum, one guy just received his VRC in less than one week, but was disapointed by the quality (seat not very comfortable, paint scraching and falling apart ...). Well, I prefer to wait more with better built quality, and the fact is I had nothing bad to say about this on the Rinoseat Revolution.
 
it sucks that it is taking this long for you guys as i would like to see a review of these in action. I just got a vision racer but it's way too big, pain to move, so need something more compact.

i agree with above poster that unfortunately these one man shop will take time to fulfill orders esp if many were ordered. i remember getting a gf some custom, hand made riding boots and they took over 6 months to come. still sucks to wait, but hopefully in then end you will enjoy it and have forgotten the inconvenience.

that said. to Rinoseat -> update your website and western union payments :dopey: are you serious? get this sorted at least credit card or paypal. makes you guys look so amateur and i bet you have lost many sales as a result. you probably would do better on ebay than that site that frankly inspires 0 confidence. probably can get a student from uni to make you one for a few coins or a free seat
 
There is no Paypal in Croatia. And if you don't like WU, you can make a bank transfert. Many companies don't have the credit card payement option, and I agree it's a shame.

Yeah an update on the website would be nice too. Except mails exchanges with Renato, communication really sucks...
 
Like I said, we had problems with packaging and distribution.
I informed our customers exactly what it is.
At this stage of sales, each customer has already received an additional discount from 50EUR to 100EUR.
We offered our customers additional options for free (as an excuse for delay) and it is further slowed the delivery.
Some of our customers, they also had special requests for color.

Soon, they will all receive their Rinoseat!

Rinoseat GTR is technically complex product (currently the most complex cockpit) and we use several specially designed CNC machines.


First reviews will prove that this is one of the best cockpit on the market.
Those who believed in this and prior reviews will soon enjoy it.
Thank them and excuse for delay.


@lunarwolf ... I live and work in Croatia. We do not have the option of receiving payments through PayPal (it will be possible in January 2011, allegedly)

nice website and paypal payment method are not a guarantee of a good product :)

about email communication: no problem, i will soon increase the price of the product 25EUR and employ the person for 24hours communication 👍

Don't know the wright quote in english, but it says you can not have the butter and the butter's money...

Com' is very pricy and asks for time. It pays back the most of the time (especially when the product is good). An agressive com' can even make big sells for a poor product (Playseat...). I personnally prefer good and innovant product even if I have to look for this and look for that, wait a month, and pay in other way than Paypal...

I'm very confident in the product quality and this little company (I wouldn't have bought one if I was not).

Also, we have some big discounts to compensate the delays. And that's a good point.

As said previously I trust Renato....but he also said my seat would be posted early November.
I believe the delays are production delays but the explanations have been blaming customs and don't sound right ie the seat has been sitting in customs for 6 weeks as it was not packed well enough. I would have accepted "we have too many orders, I'm on my own making these bloody things, I need to make it better, production has been delayed" etc etc.
Yes at the end of the day quality is worth waiting for but bad excuses get tiring and translation makes it worse.

Look I'm all for quality over quantity, and I don't mind having to wait for a product, if I'm informed of the situation from the start.

Maybe scammed was too harsh of a word to use, but I have no idea what size business Rino Industries is. I see that they have been around for at least two years starting with the G25, and now have a new product, so I believe that does not make them a newcomer. I'm all for the small business owner to have a go, but just come out from the start and tell us where they are with the product and what we can expect.

Though I personally believe that the price for the GTR is very reasonable (going off video footage of the product), it is still a lot of money to send somewhere in the world to trust someone to get your product (no different to Ebay). As CPA said, if I was informed before purchasing that there would be delays for what ever reason, and gave an exaggerated timeline for delivery ie, 2 weeks - 8 weeks, well I'll be more accepting or at least be able to make a informed decision as to whether this is the product I still want to purchase knowing the correct information.

I appreciate that Renato has stated there are issues with packaging and customs etc, this was 3 weeks ago, but tell this to customers in email, and not assume we are on forums. I personally found this product on YouTube by chance and then made contact via email.
We were late with the first deliveries due to problems in the packaging and protection. Now each pipe in the box has a plastic protection. The new redesigned box now allows easy opening and closing. It is important for customs inspection. Therefore we temporarily stop delivery, but now it is continued. In attachment you can find a few pictures about that.

For the record I still would have purchased if I knew this, but when your informed on a quote of a certain delivery date, you kind of expect that to be honoured. Like I said, put an exaggerated timeline on the quote or at least explain your situation in the email.

Renato, I'm far from trying to bad mouth your company or your product, just asking for better communication. But in saying this, you can't say there isn't enough time to answer emails, when you seemed to have found the time to find this post on a forum and reply. Priorities please.

Putting communication and delays aside, once we all receive our Rinoseats, as Renato said, "First reviews will prove that this is one of the best cockpit on the market". That I do believe!

Here is a financial problem with this kind of hardware racing manufacturers; it comes because they pay the first production units with people´s preorders (as the Fanatec Porsche Wheels, for example).

In the case of this, I can´t understand how people can purchase an around 300 € item in this kind of "on-line shop":

Do you really think that development and production are so cheap?

Preorders are important for the producer because he can see how the market accepts a new product. Based on these data, the producer improves the product and calculates the amount of production (how much above the minimum or plan).

Fanatec has done so much for race sim community!
Money that they invested is much larger than the current income (included all preorders).
Preorders can help them but only for development of the new product.

Fanatec CSPedals are a real masterpiece of CNC machining and the price is incredibly low (my opinion as an engineer).
This low price is surely the result of the way to receive payment in advance (of course, only one of the reason + the TRUST of customers).

I agree with you that it is the risk but "no risk = no profit".
In our case this is not such "high risk".
We sold the old Rinoseat almost 4 years.
Try to google rinoseat and you will find many reviews from around the world.

I have made several videos about the new Rinoseat GTR and showed them all the advantages of the new Rinoseat GTR. For those who liked it was enough to order it. I hope that they will be satisfied with the product and they will always have a special treatment with our new products and options.


about emails:
sometime i have to answer to 90 emails (for example over the weekend) and it can be quite difficult

about website:
it seems that Croatia will next year get a Paypal, so I will make a real "on-line" shop and i hope it will reduce the need to manually replying to emails

about plans:
delivery time will be reduced to max. 3-5 days
Rinoseat GP will soon have a promotion (F1 cockpit)

Every day I click the IPS Web Tracking Number Renato gave me for amusement. It always says "No information, please check your item identifier".
I beleive one day it will surprise me and tell me the Rinoseat GTR is on its way. I say this because from the other side of the planet I trust Renato. Not because he is a professional businessman but because the rinoseat has been around for a long time and the Rinoseat GTR looks like a good bit of kit. His use of the English language may not be perfect and in attempting to talk his product up he has been accused of talking another down.
Enough said. When we get the kit we can make the assessments and post.

We stopped first delivery at the local post office (we do not use DHL or UPS because it is three times more expensives). We informed our customers about delays and offered additional options for free. Some are agreed. Additional production + additional painting (only once a week) + additional packing + additional sending + new orders = delay and confusion in post office + increased customs examination. For each additional change we need 1-2 weeks because at this time we do not have a stock and we can paint only once a week. Because of these problems the whole shipment was waiting. Soon they will receive their cockpits and that's it.

If it´s suitable, are you planing any add-on in the future to fit the new Thrustmaster oficial wheel?. (Be seen some filling between your new cockpit and Fanatec wheels).

Are you going to have a (good) website? It can help sell better and makes you feel more comfortable buying from a good website. (e.g Playseat, a basic seat [it works] but it is basic but the site interface makes you feel more confident buying)

Are you going to give the guys at Inside Sim Racing (ISR) one to review?

Yes, we will follow all manufactures of the wheel and the pedals (and their additional options ... we eagerly await the Fanatec ClubSport Shifter and the ClubSport HandBrake)

We will also adapt and colors of the cockpit. We have the Orange Edition for the Fanatec GT3. From January/2011 we will offer the Meteor Edition (meteor grey color) for the new Fanatec GT2.

Yeah great. You post some pictures of painted tubing. WOW! Why don't you actually put one together and show us the final product completed. After 1 year, these are your first pictures of a painted frame, and it's not even assembled.

Yeah I know you mentioned that you promised some people to have the first opportunity to show off the seat so they can post the first pictures. Come on, are you a businessman or NOT! What confidence do you show us that this product is genuine? Update your webpage with pictures of the completed product.

What about fairness to all of us who have paid, by showing us the final product. This bulls**t of going around the subject and supplying little pieces here and there doesn't cut the cake buddy! Post a picture of the your product packed in the box it comes in then!

Where are these so called first customers? And where are their pictures? How long do we have to wait? Have any actually been posted?

You still haven't replied to my emails! Most probably deleted! And I still haven't received my seat. There is always an excuse on forums. Packaging + Post, packaging + post, packaging + post. Boring old news!! You've been saying this for weeks now!!! If not months!!!

4 weeks since your last posted quote stating shipping has started after posting issues were fixed. Yet no photos, no comments anywhere of people stating they received theirs! Surely Croatian customers shouldn't be having these so called postage issues???? SO where are their photos and comments???? NONE EXACTLY!!

Don’t worry about offering a new color yet buddy, when you can’t even produce what you have been advertising for the past year!

You can't get on here and say that your product is available, when your fellow countryman or nearby European neighbours do not appear to have one yet. And I know that they have ordered a Rinoseat aswell from here and other forums that I read.

It has taken a whole year for you to even post your first painted piece of frame. That in itself should make people aware of you.

Life lesson learnt right here. It's a shame it had to cost me money to learn my lesson though.

*PLEASE NO ONE PURCHASE A RINOSEAT GTR UNTIL THIS GUY PROVES HIMSELF AND HIS PRODUCT!
