LOL! That is not even close to the seating position offered by the rSeat Formula!

Let's compare:

rsthumb.jpg

What you have done gives you a more reclined position and yes you've raised the pedals, but you still aren't anywhere near a true formula position like the rSeat Formula offers.

I applaud your ingenuity, but to say people who bought the rSeat Formula instead of the standard cockpit is completely asinine and insulting.

lets compare my post , if you look i said nothing is in its proper position as i ripped my rig apart to post pics i am not going to adjust all my wheel positions and feet position to prove a point, it can be done (if) you have a Rseat already why not try it You have to sit in the seat to appreciate it not just look at pictures remember the rseat evo also you can adjust foot plate and wheel plate is same as the formula rig adjustment wise. and if you think my post was insulting i am sorry maybe someone is feeling guilty for spending so much cash $1500 would get me a Subaru impreza wrx at this point in time in uk . spend ya cash on whatever you want i don't care its your doe but i just thought i let r seat owners know there is a option to get the experience for no more extra money not one penny or a dime 👍

sorry for being so insulting

I'm not feeling guilty at all for spending $1700, I got exactly what I wanted. If I wanted to buy an old beat up Subaru WRX for that price I could (I live in Japan) but I don't want to. I already have a few different cars that I enjoy.

I understand that you are pleased with the results of changing configuration on your rSeat, but it wouldn't please me. I've built three different cockpits on my own, one even using a full RHD Toyota Supra interior, but when I saw the rSeat Formula I knew it was exactly what I wanted and no one else made anything like it (I don't like the Playseat F1).

So yes, it was WELL WORTH the $1700 I spent. I've already got a GT style cockpit anyways that I may or may not get rid of.

Each to there own but i have a wife :P as i said spend your cash on whatever you want. how are you going to mount your moniters? as this is the deal breaker with this rig as they need to be mounted as close to the wheel as poss, i had to use my projector in the F1 position ( yes it is a f1 position ) as i dont have 3 screens

Knows what? That I bought the cockpit? Of course she knows, she's excited for me to get it too.

YOU LUCKY LUCKY MAN , i had to fight tooth and nail to convince my mr's to let me have mine had to buy her a Wii :grumpy: and i still get it in the neck , but as you can see from pictures i live in a very small house.

Anyways back on topic sorry. when you set yours up could you measure it for me please as i know i can get same setup but if i had measurements we all defiantly know if it possible

It appeared to be going in a bad direction, but I think we brought it back to civil quite quickly. :)

Someone else here would probably be able to get you those measurements more quickly than I can. I won't be in the same location as my cockpit for a few months.

BAD NEWS....replacement unit damaged again during shipment.

First unit:

Replacement:

Gotta love the post service in the US. :S
I doubt even the 10th replacement will make it in one piece to your doorstep, with the post guys going postal on your goods and all.

Hows the courier service over there? Just wondering.

Shumi, what carrier did they use for delivery?

I thought previous posts by you and NeoAgent attributed the damage to insufficient packing.
The pictures you both posted seem to indicate that.
The construction of the box seems a bit on the flimsy side, not to mention the way its packed in the pics.

That is different than mis-handling or abuse incurred during shipment.

I think superbike81 made a comment in a previous post about having worked in USAF postal system before where he witnessed mis-handling of shipped goods.

On a related note, looking at those cracks that appear to be stress-induced...
...I wonder about the longevity of the product if it gets a good knock, like an accidental swipe from a vacuum cleaner.

Mine was delivered by FedEx.

The thing is, with proper packaging, this kind of damage simply would not occur. Maybe they aren't accustomed to how package delivery workers in the US operate, but they are not gentle with these boxes. You HAVE to use things like bubble wrap, packing foam, and preferably double boxes with packing material between the boxes. Package delivery services here in Japan are very very gentle, so maybe that's how it is in Europe and that's what rSeat thinks the US is like.

I don't think it's a question of product durability, it's all to blame on poor packaging.

Well, I had my rSeat Evo v3 delivered from their HQ in Bulgaria all the way across Europe. It included transfering my seat into different trucks at different hubs all across this continent. My box looked perfect with just a scratch left or right where maybe another box had hit it with of its four corners when it was placed next to mine.

On a seperate note, I wish the Japanese way of thinking would transfer a bit more to the rest of the world. Just the point of respect for each other and each other's properties would be enough in my opinion.

+1...Fed Ex was used for delivery. I may have actually witnessed how the nose got damaged as they deliverd the package. The box was pushed off the truck with one side dropping from the back of the truck...about 3 feet? They then used a fork lift to move it in my garage. Even with 2' inches of foam packaging, if that side of the box is dropped from 3-4 feet, with the package weighting 120 lbs, I do suspect the fiberglass nose may get damaged.
Anyway, I have asked for a replacement part, but so far no response.

Value is something that is defined by each individual.

Do I think it's worth $1500? No, not really. I'd say $1000 max.

However, there is nothing better out there if you want a true formula seating position without engineering your own solution, which I am not really capable of doing, nor do I want to spend the time doing it. As they say, time is money. So for the experience, I am willing to pay the $1500 price tag.

As far as comfort goes, I haven't sat in mine yet, but the ISRTV guys said it was comfortable enough to fall asleep in.

I'd agree with the $1000.00 price, the way it is priced now it is definitely overpriced.

The seat is extremely comfortable. As soon as I sat in mine I though "I need one of these for watching TV" or for napping, could easily fall asleep in it.

Mine was also delivered by FedEx but I would not say the damage is FedEx's fault. Sure they drop stuff but this item should be packaged with that in mind. If you check out my post (post #66) with pics of how my replacement unit arrived you'll see how the tip of the frame is jammed up against the thin cardboard of the shipping box. Fortunately my nose piece was shipped separately or it would have been damaged just as badly or worst than shumi's was.

The front end piece is very heavy and not secured in the packaging to keep it from sliding back and forth. All that is separating the fiberglass nose piece from being damaged is some bubble wrap and thin cardboard. With the nose piece attached this is just asking for the nose piece to be damaged. If you look at the pictures of the damage to the nose pieces all (or most) of the damage is to the tip of the nose piece. The tip of the nose piece sticks out a few inches pass the framework of the front end. If the box gets dropped or slammed up against something on that end the tip of the nosepiece is going to be damaged.

When my nosepiece arrive the packaging wasn't much better than the rig itself. It was shipped in a rSeat box with a bunch of bubble wrap thrown over it, fortunately mine only had a small scratch/ding (really shouldn't have any scratches or dings).

After receiving the wrong color rig to begin with, then receiving a rig which was not complete and has some damage (see post #66) once I started to try to assemble what I had I found other problems which should not be happening on a rig this expensive.

When I went to mount my nosepiece to the frame I ran into a problem with the alignment of the mounting holes.

Ran into the same problem when I tried to mount the ClubSport Wheel base to the steering plate with or without the CSW bracket attached.

Without the CSW bracket (also note the worn areas of the steering mount, this is the way it arrived. Certainly looks used). Error in spelling, should have read "Wear indicating his bracket has been used" vice "has be used".

Since those holes did not line up I thought I'd try mounting the CSW bracket to the steering plate - same problem but in addition to not lining up the holes are off-center.

steering%20wheel%20mount2.jpg

In this close-up you can see how far off the holes are (the area where the paint is worn away to the right is the way it was when it arrived).

Even more frustrating was when I tried to mount my CSP to the pedal tray... guess what, the mounting holes did not line up. Only three of the four holes aligned enough to allow inserting a bolt (sorry no pics I was just to feed up at this point).

I'm still missing the front end supports and several screws. I've asked for a replacement mounting plate for the steering wheel and the tool kit I did not receive with mine. All of this is supposed to be shipped next day air tomorrow so I should have all the pieces on Tuesday. I mounted my keyboard/mouse arm and I'm not really happy with the way it droops downward but I will wait until I receive the proper bolts for mounting (did not receive the mounting bolts with my rig and tried to mount the arm using some smaller bolts - although it did pull up tight to the frame). I think this may be a problem after awhile, I certainly wouldn't set something heavy on this arm so find a light weight keyboard and mouse.

Maybe rSeat should consider sending the rig in two different smaller/lighter boxes.

That would help. They could send the seat and nose piece in one package and all the metal pieces in another, I think that would cut down on damage to the nose piece (as long as it's packed properly).

But they still need to do something on quality control. Mis-aligned mounting holes is totally unacceptable.

Yeah, I'm surprised they don't test each part with a simple template to make sure things line up. It's gotta be a low production product, it's not like they are selling thousands of these things.

Which should make it easier to maintain quality control, especially considering the price.

I'm from the USA and can tell you most parcel handlers hate their job and love to abuse packages to feel a sense of revenge. The USA is just slobbingly frustrating with jerks. Sorry but its true. So many miserable people here. Our economy sucks, government is broke, employment is doomed. Bleh. Really frustrating. Hopefully you can get it replaced quickly.

I hope he can also but if rSeat doesn't improve their packaging he may wind up with the same problem again.

+1..Not sure where the rage comes from, but it seems to be a pre-requisite for a delivery man in the USA.

Received my missing parts today. I would say that rSeat, particularly Dimitrie, handle the problem in a timely manner.

However there is a problem that rSeat really needs to address (in addition to the packaging problem). The holes on the new steering wheel mounting plate I received did not line up with the mounting holes on the CSW base nor on the CSR Elite wheel base, I had to drill the holes out to mount my supposedly supported wheel.

What I find a bit odd, is that there are no complaints about packaging in Europe. Today I received my EVO V3 and it was very well packed aswell. Maybe the problem lays with the American distributor !? Well in about a month I will order my Formula seat, will keep you guys posted on how mine was packed 👍
