Not a happy customer...

I ordered a white RS Formula seat on 19 Dec 2012 the day they started shipping in the US. They're website showed four 'In Stock'. The very next day I received an e-mail stating the seat was on 'back order. I checked their site again and it showed they still had three white RS Formula seats in stock.

When I contacted them they said it was listed as back order because it wouldn't ship until after the first of the year. It finally shipped and I received it today BUT instead of shipping me what I ordered they shipped a gray/green RS Formula seat. Needless to say I am disappointed and find it completely unsatisfactory that a company charging that much for a seat apparently does not have any type of quality control in their shipping department.

Has anyone else experienced any problems with rSeat? I e-mailed them as soon as I opened the package and found out that they had shipped me the wrong item but probably will not hear back from them until tomorrow (hopefully). Just wondering if they are good at correcting their errors.

BTW, the packaging is pretty lame for a seat that cost as much as this thing does.

The cardboard on the sides is very thin, many items were lose and not secured properly, I'm sure they were shifting around during shipment.

I got my shipment notification today, scheduled to be delivered on the 8th by Fedex. However my uncle is going to be taking delivery for me since I'm not in the US right now. I'll have to have him open it up and inspect it right away. I ordered black/gold and I made sure that in every section of my order I mentioned black/gold and even in my communication with them. So hopefully they'll get it right.

Would you mind giving me rough dimensions of the box? It says 120lbs on the Fedex site, but doesn't give dimensions.

Be sure he actually looks inside the box. My packing slip had 'F1 White' written on it but that is not what was inside. I also had listed 'WHITE' several times on my order.

The box is 22" x 24" x 45". Not sure on the weight since I just had the delivery men set it down in the hall (two men delivered it and used a dolly). But it would be easy to move piece by piece, which I was going to do until I pulled out the seat and realized it was the wrong color. Once I realized the color was wrong I just put the seat back in the box and left it alone.

Yeah I talked it out with my wife and got the approval a few weeks ago. Its a big purchase but from what I saw in videos it seems like it will be durable enough to last many years.

Update - Received an email from rSeat this morning stating they were shipping the correct color rig and would include a return label with the shipment for the incorrect rig they sent me. If they ship this out quickly I will be very satisfied with their customer service.

Glad to see they are willing to ship the correct item immediately.

Thanks for the dimensions!

Also very glad to hear they are working it out for you. Hopefully they don't have to bring another one in through customs. They should have a white one in stock as I'm sure white black and red will all be fairly popular colors.

I was rSeat USA's first (local) customer and Dimitrie was very accommodating. I'm willing to bet that they ship out every day and yours will be shipped today. 👍

Happy to say mine was delivered to my dad's house on the 8th and ended up being the correct black/gold color I was going for. Now I just need to actually get moved back to the US so I can use it. Should be mid-March hopefully. In the mean time I'm going to start thinking about how to setup my lotus F1 theme (stickers) for it.

Still haven't received my replacement yet but it's suppose to be here on Monday. Not sure if it will be a complete unit, seems there was a problem with the paint on the nose of the white Formula 1 seats. I may or may not receive a complete unit. If I do receive a complete unit it may or may not contain the defective nose piece, not sure if they received any of the corrected nose pieces before they shipped mine. If I receive one with the defective nose piece a correct nose piece is supposed to be shipped shortly. I'll let you know once I receive mine.

Finally got mine after a couple of weeks. Packaging is a joke!!! Fiberglass body was damaged in three places. Had to return it and file a claim.

Like i said on the 3rd of Jan., packaging is lame. Just hope my replacement makes it in one piece with the corrected nose piece.

Great news guys!! These guys are for real. Excellent customer support. They have already shipped a replacement (I have a new tracking number). .👍👍👍

Hopefully they realize that they are packing these things all wrong. Bubble wrap doesn't do much when it's covering that much weight. A strong sturdy box and plenty of quality packing material to keep anything in there from moving around is what you need.

Sell a $1500 rig and not be bothered with a wooden crate to ship it in..

That would be nice... but who wants to pay the additional charges for the weight and cost of the container. The companies doing the transportation need to carry more responsibility for the products they damage.

I would like there to be a disclaimer that any damages are covered by the shipping company to have the item shipped next day service.

Such big parcels has to be packaged so they can be handled by trucks and put on a lorry beside other cargo. Are the employees at the freight company supposed to use manpower to lift it? That is asking way much for such heavy items. Those 1500$ should cover decent packaging. I believe most that order cockpits like this expect this I do. With such packaging as shown in the pictures the freight companies are really home free I would say.

Fibreglass is not the most durable material out there so it doesn´t take that much to damage it like this. I got 90 KG steel cockpit delivered without a single scratch all the way from UK to Sweden because it was superbly packaged. Shipping cost quite a bit of course you are right about that :)

My front nose piece is cracked, although not as badly as the pictures here. I'm contacting rSeat USA today, hopefully they'll just send that piece, since the seat itself is fine.

When I was in college I worked for FedEx. Alot of the guys working the docks are d-bags. I witnessed them kicking and playing soccer with many packages. Losers.

I worked a special duty in the Air Force with USPS (the post office) for 3 years, the terrible things people did to packages is amazing.

Received notice my white Formula will arrive tomorrow. Also received notice I have another shipment coming from rSeat which should be the corrected nose piece. Should be no problem just having a nose piece shipped.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's only the nose piece they will ship, I don't want my family to have to deal with repackaging that whole thing.

I worked in some terminals and also worked as one of those runner boys ones. I have never seen that. Those wouldn´t have the job for very long if they would go on like that where I worked I imagine.

Not saying it doesn´t happen but I surely don´t believe it´s the norm. I mean how do these guys keep their job in a normal workplace :)

Have you talked to Dimitrie? If not give him a call or send him an email, he'll get it straightened out.

Folks,
I have to say that the packaging needs improvement. In my case, the nose of the cockpit made direct contact with the edge of the box (which is made of very thin cardboard). The piece of foam they had included was not attached to the nose, so it may have slipped off during transit . They need to have a packaging engineer design a proper box for this product. :nervous:

I sent an e-mail to support, hopefully they'll get back to me asap. I'm not particularly upset or jaded, I won't judge rSeat as a bad company like many people would in a situation like this. If we get everything fixed to my satisfaction, no harm no foul.

Here's mine

Agree 100%, even if it was just thicker cardboard would help or at least double boxed. On top of that there are items that are just 'thrown in' the box and not secure at all. These items are heavy enough to cause damage if knocked around too much.

Hopefully my replacement will arrive in one piece undamaged.

Sorry to see that. They got back to me really quickly, I am sure they will take care of you. But now I am wondering at this rate, how many of these they are going to get back?
