Isn't there a driving mission in a focus that has rain? Stage 5 mission 4 has rain, just tried it, if it's like that in sport mode it should be ok.

Wouldn't be surprised they use Gr.B for World Tour since it's the only category anybody can use for testing rain.

At least the photos get to look great

I seriously don't get why people are believing this, just because one person said it. Guys, Gran Turismo 8 is coming next month.

Because it isn't just one random person saying it. Either this is true of there are many live event competitors pulling the greatest joint prank of all time.

Now it could be that rain is featured in a live event and then not added in an update...but judging from the addition of many cars and tracks first featured in a live event...

Rumar from Japan is Porsche are having their own online sport more championship in gt sport in early summer 2019. Now that i look forward to as its about time Porsche had a big input in gaming, best thing polyphony digital done was bring Porsche in, lets hope it remains that way. Could see a change from nissan academy to porsche or both? More online content means gt league can start to wear off and carry on with the online focus?

Yep was gonna post this too. It makes total sense when you see there's like 5 races where we don't know the combo across manufacturers and nations yet, it can't be just one track

Theres a gr b event in nations and gaps in manufacturers. There is only one track in the world i know of that would fit into gr b and gr4 and gt3. That would be Silverstone in all combinations. If they add silverstone rally stage i hope to see the brands hatch rally cross stage too. Plus if rally goes onto sport mode ghosting would need to be full, as it is sport mode lol

PD should know by now that they can't trust the finalists, we see leaks every time (usually cars and tracks). Info getting out early is obviously not a big problem to them.

Only thing that bothers me is how some cars will drive in the rain, already most of MR cars slide a lot under braking and that's with slick tyres and dry tarmac, I fear that with rain they will basically become drift cars.

Rain physics in racing games aren't like rain physics in GTA Online. You might be right but with this last physics update you'd probably be more likely to understeer plow past the apex rather than Tokyo drift around the outside.

The leaker is lucky PD doesnt act like Rockstar games, last year Rockstar sued a news outlet for 1 million dollars after they leaked info about Red Dead Redemption 2.Like most situations PD acts in a different way compared to other companies. Most game devs hate having their works leaked and NDAs are a common thing in the games industry.

I would assume rain alone would warrant abit of a physics change from what we have now, considering the majority of the game is always in the dry. Having rain with the physics now would be less Tokyo Drift and more trying to steer a slab of Marble on ice.

How would they be able to sue if there was no NDA in place? And you also realise that the million dollars was all donated to charity, so lay of the 'look how great PD are'.

If they really cared there would be a real NDA. Like was written before, all publicity is good publicity. Not that this is negative in any way.

Will more people now tune in to see the rain than if they'd not "announced" it and had some weird drama about non existent NDAs and leaky rain?

Has PD not been releasing cars and tracks on a near-monthly basis, providing teasers about a week before they release?

Has PD not updated and adjusted physics multiple times (for better or for worse) since launch?

Has PD not made adjustments and improvements to the Sport Mode ranking, matching, and penalty algorithms since launch?

Is it unreasonable to want information to be held back until a certain point for an official unveiling?

Many people certainly act like PD haven't and pretty much don't care for PD "holding back" content.

This would have been true back in 2013, but not now.

1) Nearly every other major update has included a new track.
2) They've changed the physics several times since release. Whether the various updates have been good or bad is another matter.
3) ...The online play criticism is pretty fair. I think they've made a few improvements here and there, but not much. Still, if I'm correct in remembering that they've at least tried to fix the unstable and buggy online experience, then an effort has been made, contrary to what you state in your post.
4) The AI in GTS is a vast improvement over GT6. They're still slow and sometimes blind, but overall they're much more aware and much more willing to make moves. Less so on the player than other AI cars, but still, they're not as afraid of racing closely as they have been in the past. Not to mention that they can legitimately be pretty quick with the right car and track combo.

Plus, let's not forget just how many cars have been added since the game's launch. They've been published almost monthly since the game's start, which is fantastic in itself, but almost every update includes at least 5 cars. The game is much, much bigger than it was at the start, and that can't be denied.

It was a joke. I just edited it.

Well considering the response and who liked your post it seems like you successfully done a Poes Law.
Some people are just too smart for their own good. I remember when one of my older Sisters started college(I was about 13yo at the time). It was to the effect of her getting an idea for something. SO, I stood under one of our lights that was mounted on the wall. Flicked it on with my finger and the lightbulb came on. Everyone laughed and got the joke, but my Sister didn't get it. Kept asking what was so funny about that. Well, there you go. Even with props and aids, some still won't get it.

Since there are so many posts in this thread, can someone please summarize the evidence and reasoning behind the rumor for me?

There is a FIA Live Event next weekend. A few days ago, participants would have received details of the races. Someone leaked the information for the Repechage Race, showing 'Red Bull Ring (Rain Condition)' as the track.

Many live event participants have expressed their disappointment at this information coming out, which suggests that it is true and was a legitimate image of the race, showing the Rain condition.

The OP of this thread is not one of those particpants but knows at least one of them, and also heard this news. OP has leaked information of cars before I believe.

The Race Structure for the live event was released yesterday and shows a lot of 'TBA' details, including for the Repechage race. This is usually done when new content is being shown. https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/worldtour2019/nurburgring/race_structure/

Now this doesn't necessarily mean Rain will be in GTSport, and doesn't necessarily mean the information leaked is true even for the live event. However with many competitors expressing the disappointing and confirming that info did leak, as well as the large about of TBA in the live event info, plus future in-game FIA Races, I personally think it is safe to say that the information about Red Bull Wet is true, and that it is likely to appear in the game. What is less certain however, is if other tracks will have a wet variant, and if so, how many.

I just want to read what are the plans for the future game. Weather conditions was the last missing feature IMO, so they will be free to talk about the next game.

It does not help PD either by putting so much TBC data in the details of next week's event, this only just adds further confirmation that
something new is coming soon to the game, I have a good expectation of what I expect I will see as "new" when the livestream happens next
week.

Suffice to say I am expecting there to be a few "wow" from myself but it's proof that having these events is a way to keep people's interest in
the games and all of the stuff added from said events previously has all been things I wanted.

All this talk about NDA's and leaks, you're missing the point.
It boils down to a matter of common decency.

This company flies these people all around the world.
Free flights, free accommodation, free food, extra gifts like T-GT's, etc.
Let alone the prize at the end of this global competition, and where it all may lead.

Being given confidential information and asked not to reveal it, but then not being able to hold your tongue shows weak character.
It's very disrespectful and a betrayal of trust, regardless of the details of the 'agreement'.

Poor form. 👎
