I've tried to use tips from
https://forza.guide/ and I would say my tune is better than it was, but something is missing. There is so many things I can change that even despite really clear instructions I still feel like I'm working blindly.
IMO my best option to get some conclusions is to build Audi R8 using "guide" and later finding differences between it and the one from Letz's video. And later somehow transfering that info to Enzo.
Or I could just ask Letz, but that probably would be too simple 🤣
Well. I did some testing.
Part1 (trying to find good guide/how to setup suspension)
Started with Audi R8 and tried to do "expanded reverse engineering" on Letz's tune. So at first I've used the same parts as Lets is using in the video -
.
And later using different guides I was trying to determine which will give me as close setup as the one in the video. And IMO neither was useful in spring and damping department. All of them were giving me much stiffer setups, like 30% higher numbers than what Letz was using in the video.
So later I did make few setups and started driving on Legend Island TA.
1. tune from forza guide = mid-high 1:18
2. copy of Letz setup = around 1:18.0
3. copy of Letz with lower rear aero = mid 1:18
4. copy of Letz but with stock suspension = mid 1:17
5. number4 with lower rear aero = high 1:18 (very snappy)
So in short: Letz's suspension setup is very good, but rear aero does a lot of work here.
note: All of the guides have one thing in common: aero balance is best kept around 0.40-0.45, mechanical balance around 0.6 (<0.55 understeer, >0.65 oversteer/unstable). But even as you can see in the picture below, neither me or Letz are following that rules very much.
Part2 (building Enzo to beat my time on Highwat Circuit)
Since I've not found any guide useful something else came to my mind.
Letz have 5 videos with build/setup, so I've tried to feed google gemini with that data and ask for setup for Enzo.
There doesn't seem to be any pattern in Letz tunes, but after few prompts it finally showed something that looked for me as something worth trying. Few tweaks later and I was kind of happy with it.
Is it better tune than Letz? No. Letz's tune is much more stable, but I was able to set better time on both Highway and Shirakawa. On highway it was better thanks to min rear aero setup. On shirakawa IDK why, but the difference wasn't big between them. At the same time Letz's tune have in name "55.1 Shirakawa" and my current time is 56.1, so maybe I just suck 🙃
