I've pretty much been promised a patch by some of the other guys in this thread.

My initial expectations were to play the new Red Bull events on New Years day. With the guys in this thread telling me they've delayed it to include a ton other things I'm expecting a full-blown track editor, livery editor, and maybe even to be able to rotate the car in the shop!

I am biting my nails off, literally. I HOPE we get more than just the seasonal and the Redbull challenge. The track editor would be such a perfect new year's gift.

I'm not disputing the balance of majority, but that figure is incomplete. The USA does not constitute the whole of the Americas.

Also, trying to figure out which majority is in which day at different "times" is hurting my head. The sun is going down on the West of the Americas, and rising in Asia somewhere. In between those two points, the date changes.

Well, turns out that it's almost a match to the sales figures for PS3's. 75% of games are sold outside the US.

But as you say, the Americas consist of more than the US. Only the stats do list North America, EU, Asia and "rest of world".

So if I give you, not only the American subcontinent but Africa in its entirity you still end up with 60 % of all games being sold in the EU and Asia.

*This means that the only parts of the world still in Jan1 at this time are UTC-3 or earlier timezones
*This includes everything inclusively west of the Falkland Islands
*And nothing else
*The population inclusively west of the Falkland Islands include the USA, Canada, and developing nations, where only the really-wealthy would own GT6 so early.

Therefore, any comment that NOT more than half the world is in 2nd Jan when they were promised a patch on 1st Jan, is self-deluded and perpetuating of the USA National stereotype of MURRRCA.

If you're comparing a game update to an anniversary present then I think you're taking this way too seriously.

Aside from that, I think any half-sane wife would be understanding of receiving a present a day late.

I am not upset about the late update (apart from online racing the game is a bore-fest), but I understand those who are and do not ridicule them for it. If I tell my customers they can pick up their item on a certain date and I fail to deliver on time, then they have every right to be disappointed. You do not get to decide how much disappointment others feel.

It'll probably be one of those updates PD pushes out that installs when the game starts, not one that installs before the game launches. I wouldn't get my hopes up; instead I think I'll just enjoy the game as-is for now until the event is unlocked and the track editor is released. Complain about standards and sounds all you want, the actual driving aspect is damn fun!
