Even the formula pd?

In GT5 no, in GT6 yes.

... Pretty sure that one is a renamed re-brand... Isn't it?
I'm just going on memory here so I looked it up:

In 1970 ANGELO and ACHILLE PARILLA founded "DAP" to manufacture go-kart engines. In 1979 DAP began to manufacture go-kart chassis as well.

Here's a YouTube interview with Angelo Parrilla with some history of the firm and some mention of Ayrton Senna's early days in karts, Zanardi, Keke Rosberg, and Terry Fullerton (Senna's greatest rival in his own words)

In order to obtain the car we'll have to do as good as Senna or better on his pole laps!?!? Anyone else here think that's going to be hard ?_? I'm not going to speak for others but I play on the controller and just thinking about it is hurting my poor hands

Where did it say that? There will be events I'm sure (well almost) but we haven't anything about what they will be.

The gold times are his pole laps, yes.

GT6 makes it possible to beat racing drivers' actual lap times by offering "better than reality" tires, and removing the element of fear. GT6 is better than reality... And we still dislike it. :)

80s layout in a Lotus JPS 1985.. With barely any downforce.. and almost 1000HP that will be scary. Because in RFactor i cant even drive the 97T :\ Well i can but not full throttle.. I need to get the tires very hot before i put throttle down :\.

Well, too bad for you because in gt6 until the time you get your tires warm, they will be dead already.

Trying to start what excatly? All I give was a opinion, and that is trying to start something? Look who's talking who put "haters" in his post...

Looking over the comments in the post about the slideshow and kart, I am disgusted with how karting is somehow popularly synonymous with Nintendo and Mario. It makes me sad how much I see and hear that. Anyway, cool stuff being released. I love all of the historical touches to the game.

Only people who are ignorant of karting's role as the grassroots of motorsports would say ignorant things about the sport.

Aren't those people gonna be in for a surprise. :sly:

I for one am looking forward to driving that kart. The attention to detail with the taped fuel canister (at least that's what I think it is), the seat, and the tube framing (you can see some scuffs from the wear and tear on it! Here's hoping that's still present in-game!) is quite a nice touch~

As danardif1 says, that would require a lot more modelling. Much easier to change one or two corners at tracks that are otherwise unchanged from the current model. I think you may expect too much from PD. It's not that it's lazy, just that they have other, more pressing things to be working on. Such as modelling the Lotus etc as well as the other features we're awaiting

I certainly don't! What we're getting in this months update I'm surprised at and I welcome it. I just thought that they'd have revised Spa instead of Brands or Monza seeing as though he won there in '85.

Spa hasn't been announced but is is only the bus stop chicane that has changed. Only run off has changed elsewhere and that has changed at Monza as well.

Well he did take his first win at Estoril 1985 so Spa is not that special. Would like Estoril though..:indiff: (not happening) They could make a race or hotlap event in wet conditions as this was Sennas speciality. (one of many)

I know it's not as special as Estoril but Spa is already in the game and it wouldn't have taken much time to redesign it.

I hope we get the same atmosphere as Goodwood hill climb. During the 80's the haybales where very in common and slowly they changed to solid crashbarriers (combinations) with tires and concrete.

Aesthetically Spa is very different to how it was in the 80s. It was still a public road and the run off areas by todays standards were non existent.

Spa & Suzuka in the early 90's would also be a good addition. But then we need the McLaren Mp4/4 too :D

There are lots of reasons to model most tracks Senna drove on, such was his style. But it would take much more work to alter a track that has, say, 20 changes (like Spa) than it would to alter a track that only has 2 or 3 changes (like Brands Hatch). Simple as that.

I'm getting deja vu. :p

And when I said you may expect too much I wasn't attacking you or your disposition towards PD. Just insinuating that PD aren't likely to make more work for themselves. :)

I'm wondering how long before someone claims that PD couldn't meet their monthly track DLC plan because they were busy modifying tracks for Senna.

I thought the lack of DLC thus far is more likely to be due to the fact that, under the current system, people wouldn't necessarily have to pay for it to get it... Hence why we're limited to the free offerings so far?

It would have required Spa's permission to license that version of the track, which they may or may not be willing to do. PD can't go modifying somebody else's intellectual property as they see fit just because a certain driver competed on that version. For this reason, we are also highly unlikely to see a "base model" of the Lotus 97T. The owners of these cars/tracks dictate what PD can and cannot do with their likenesses, not PD, not Sony and not people on a fan forum.

Love this new content. Especially the 80s track variants.

Wonder if they'll produce an 80s Silverstone? That was radically different to today. Mentally flat out fast, with a stupid chicane at Woodcote.

I haven't driven a computer game version of that since Revs on the BBC Micro.............!

Yeah, but that's logical. Logic often gets left at the door on the internets.

I suggested that 3 months ago, or so.

So, minus three months? Faster than I thought, people are travelling backwards in time to suggest this! :D

A certain other game seems to have no trouble having livery-able versions of race cars. Given that base models can only be a range of different colours, as opposed to being painted with rival team liveries and giant wangs (which some content owners might rightly find objectionable), I hardly see what the problem is.
