Shouldn't PD (Or Sony, since they're the publishers) get more people to help to make Gran Turismo?

This is the biggest problem with PD IMO. They are woefully understaffed for what they are trying to achieve and they lack a project manager. Kaz has great vision, but we need another person who can take charge of the mission. I feel Kaz is so stubborn in keeping the old team for quality control and consistency (in terms of car/track modelling), but surely there are plenty of talented modellers out there who are as passionate as his team. At the very least they could train them to be as proficient. What's gonna happen when some of his staff starts to retire? At the current rate, Kaz's stubbornness is what's keeping him from reaching his own vision. A bit sad really.

Their understaffing was deliberate, though, as what @Samus said.

Not only that, but the lack of communication is also screwing up the series.
Kaz might own PD, but Sony owns PD. But then again, they're busy on other stuff...

This topic is nailing everything very well! :)

It's nice to see that we've reached a general consensus of the series' flaws.

This has been to mind for a while. Looking at the credits and seeing not alot of people involved at the making of the game (As i said before, the GT6 credits shows that only THREE (or just TWO) people were involved at programming the AI, one of the game biggest flaws).

if they hired more people, then they wouldnt profit as much from a game that is not 100% complete.
But who's to say if they did have a new staff that the game wouldn't be complete? Maybe if they had a new staff they could actually get a completed game out, and then some with DLC. So more like a 150%- 200% completed game.

Polyphony, a completed game? Now that's just crazy talk. :D

Then tell me why GT4 is so complete? It isn't all that amaizng, but the game looks awesome for being from 2004. AND it had more content than GT5 and GT6 combined.

I agree. GT4 was great. As were GT3, GT2 and the original GT.

That was ever such a long time ago though.

Evidence from the last ten years or so is that Polyphony struggles to produce a major title that is complete. The best they've managed since GT4 is GT5P (tiny), GTPSP (tiny+GT4 assets), and TT (largely a rehash of GT4). The last two iterations of the title that made them famous has been woefully incomplete at launch.

The game has more content than any other. Yet the try to do more and therefore it seems incomplete. I think there is a time when you stop thinking and just completing the game. They try to do too many things. It need better planning and proper execution.

GT6 has more cars and tracks than any other GT game.

It has less things to do with those cars and tracks than GT5 or GT4. It might have more than GT3, but I suspect it'd be a close thing, and GT3 was a long, long time ago.

A lot of the stuff they're not even trying, it's just not there. A robust set of online options and modes? Not there. B Spec? Not there. Course creator? Not there. It's not that it seems incomplete, it's that by their own admission it is incomplete.

GT6 is a incomplete because the stuff they promised isn't in the game there. OK, i know they released the game that state probably to not make the same mistake as they did in GT5, but maybe One more year of development and make it a PS4 game would result in a much better game than it is today.
GT6 isn't a bad game, but it's far from being what would expect.

The problem is that GT6 was made for the PS3, not the PS4. Your "solution" means I have to purchase a PS4 to have a fix for the problems in a game made for the PS3. That's quite illogical.

A new system won't save a terribly designed game by an outdated developer. The PS3 didn't propel GT to these incredible heights because of a few new features. Overall, the PS3 GT titles are still bad and underdeveloped. Sony should be smart enough to take action, whether it's adding more staff or cutting some loose; they can't afford to lose the series. But it's so far from appealing at this point...good luck, Sony.

They need to start focusing on creating a game, not just all the stuff in the game. Cars, tracks, & awesome graphics aren't the game. Also, this whole 'let's dumb it down for the masses' idea is killing the gameplay, I think PD have seriously underestimated the sophistication of their customer base. They've shot themselves in the foot so many times & in so many ways with GT6, that pretty soon they won't have any foot left to shoot!

I can already see that PD is digging their own grave and if they don't stop it, they'll be going in that grave and never come back.
