since when did the early seasonal events start offering gear?

I just went back and did the 4WD seasonal and I got a helmet for winning!? When did they update them to give out gear? Totally missed this! I like it though.

Actually, that was when prizes were first introduced for winning Seasonals and the first Seasonal to feature prizes other than cr/xp was the Expert Challenge (Fiat, Lotus, Subaru) event.

All previous Seasonals at that time did not get updated to give prizes. That update came after Spec 2.0 came out and PD found that some of the DLC helmets and suits were being won on current seasonals. They took down all prizes for a day or so and when they brought them back all Seasonals (even ones prior to the Expert Challenge) started giving helmets or suits for first place.

There is a thread here in the Seasonals forum that shows exact dates, if you are interested. 👍
