For you smokers out there, what brand do you smoke? I've tried a lot of menthols but I always end up sticking with Newports.

I swear there used to be a smoking thread, I've searched for it but couldn't find anything so I guess this is the best place for this thread to be.

I don't smoke much (ussually one a day). I smoke whatever my mate can get off his cousin, ussually Bensons and Hedges Gold at the moment however also smoke rollies when mates have them and have a particular taste for the licorishe skins, to me they seem to make any tobbaco seem really smooth. (even though my mates hate them).

Started on Marlboro Reds, eventually moved to GT One, now onto Maverick menthol.

If given a choice I would still be smoking GT Ones as they are a Toyota, a great conversation starter ("What the hell are those?") and were good.

Mavericks are just cheap and don't suck that much.

Maybe so, but its all about the conversation to the result or what people have found useful to smoking. For example, I was in Shanghai some time ago. I often found Marlboro ciggies for sale about a quid fifty pence. (in comparison to about six quid for the same PACKET?!) but there was a special ciggy packet for the people who wanted to flaunt their wealth....

The Golden Panda. Or Golden Bear. Or red Panda. Or whatever it was. That was 60RMB a packet (nearly 6 quid a packet! In China?!). I'm sure Shem would be able to tell me the proper price of it (as he lives in China itself).

I'm a non-smoker, but I'm not bothered by smoker themselves. My younger sis smokes Marbs Reds. It seems alright. Me mother's mother smokes Superkings. All the others don't smoke. But man, the memories of those Superkings....were good.

I smoke Long Feng, dragon/pheonix, ( pronounced 'long fong') which cost 7RMB or 70pence in real world money. They're cheap, rough and go great with a beer. I tried smoking B+H a while back (imported) but they were just too weak in comparison. This brand are also owned by the Panda makers. Smoking 20+ a day is easy when they're so cheap!

The Panda brand smokes I think you mean, Submerged, come in a variety of prices. They start around 9RMB and can go up to 200RMB+. The reason for this is that China, at least where I live, has a culture of showing off. To greet you pals with a really expensive cigarette shows you have wealth, even if you're living in a box!

Would kill for a genuine superking size cigarette. Just for after a large meal or when out on the lash. Haven't found any for years.

The results are hijacked by non-smokers, haha.

Smoking is a disgusting habit. I can tolerate 2nd hand smoke from cigars and menthols better than the regular cigarettes though.

Non-smoker myself, but my older brother smokes Camel Menthols and my Mom smokes Newports. My sister smokes anything she can get her hands on...if no one's around. I can tolerate second-hand smoke from almost anything, but it's very annoying and disgusting. The fact that 80% of my household smokes means MY clothes smell like smoke. Yeesh...

I started with Marlboro Lights, then Reds then Blue and now I smoke Camels though mostly on the weekends, been trying to let go little by little.

Smoking is a disgusting habit.....

Yeah its pretty awesome! ........quit a few years ago only to start again but with moderation. Malboro man myself :sly:. About a pack a week +/-. Freakin' ezzpensive nowadays.

I don't smoke. It's not a great habit, and it smells noxious - I suppose once you get used to it the smells disappear but to non-smokers the smell is VERY noticeable!

In my time I've smoke many brands. I started a 17 and never gave up. Here's a list of of brands I've smoked in chronological order -

Sovereign
Benson and Hedges Gold
Richmond Superkings
Mayfair
Mayfair Lights
Lambert and Butler Gold
Currently Long Feng or Yuxi if I'm feeling rich.

Marlboro here... If and when they invent a vaccine against it, please let me know... :ouch:!

It's simply not worth the money for me. Plus it makes you feel rough and generally makes your body worse in most ways over time.

We learnt about smoking in school. I learnt how it increases the risk of a heart attack and stuff.

I never plan to smoke.

Marlboro Reds mostly when I did smoke, now due to health reasons I can't. I mostly smoked cigars though and I really do miss them.

Been smoke free for almost a year now. They just started tasting bad, got tired of the smell and decided I didn't want to do that anymore.

Now I use General Snus. Reduced harm, discreet and bothers no one because they have no idea I'm using it. Plus it's cheaper and lasts longer than a pack of cigarettes. Straight Copenhagen or Apple blend Skoal Pouches are good too, it's just extremely rare that I use those.

There are a few tribes in the Amazon that have yet to make contact with the rest of the world.
Time for Marlboro to do that air drop?

lmao, yeah and then they will get addicted to them and be forced to make contact to get more

My choice isnt represented here cause i'm Canadian but my 2 favourites are Players Light and DuMaurier. But when i go to the states i'd usually buy Marlboro.

It's all about the camel crushes for me. Usually I don't like menthol, but occasionally it's nice, so I get the best of both worlds with the crushes. Packs are almost always a dollar off too, which helps.

This annoys me. The thread is titled "Smokers, what's your brand?". Putting the "non smoker" option on the poll was a bad idea imo.

Anyway, my brand is marlboro.

Marlboro's are the best tasting ones I have ever had but by god there are expensive, and as a student that is what matters to me most.

Also what are peoples veiws here of sterling?

Started smoking 15 years ago (when I was 20) with Marlboros.
Then I switched to L&M's.
Then switched again about 7 or 8 years ago and remain on JPS's.

Smoked a pack/day until very recently, been decreasing since I started pumping again on the gym. Now half a pack/day, goal is to stop smoking entirely before the end of the year.

Though health has a lot to do with my decision, the prices nowadays played a big role too... :scared:

I started smoking in 1975 as a 15 year old, quit so many times. Then on August 1 of 2005 I gave it up for good. I smoked 1 pack a day of Canadian cigs ($10 per pack) I have saved a small fortune in the the past 5 & 1/2 years. Quitting was the best thing I ever did and secretly it's something every smoker wants. :)
