@suprajef is in the lead. Nice lap!

My optimal is sitting at 2:00.085 but every time I get on I start failing somewhere on the track. Finally starting to understand T6/7 and now cant do t1 correctly. If start getting T1, 6 and 7 correctly I start messing up Netz.
Thanks, and btw, I won't be using my Turismo-pokey account anymore. I was asked to leave to make room for more players due to my lack of team participation.

I usually avoid Tokyo tracks not called R246, like the plague, but I'll give this one a try.

@Pigems , I'm going to need a track guide bud.
Not a big fan of them either, but gave it a shot this morning. Currently at 1:36.262. I look forward to @Pigems guide as well, and any pointers from anyone else!

My vision isnt that great due to an eye condition I've had for over 10 years. I have a very difficult time focusing on reference points as the walls go flying by. Much prefer to see reference points in the distance.

This is also the reason I seem to do better with slower cars these days.

Hey fellas, I’m down to a 29.1 after a handful of laps this morning. I’ll see if I can get a guide done up tonight to help, I’ve been using shadows or the red marking on the ground so far as markers. The walls go by so quickly it’s hard to use them as marks I find.

Edit: I got some time to do a more laps on Race A tonight. It’s super tricky to keep this car moving quickly and it’s a huge momentum combo, it just doesn’t want to turn lol. This combo is so much different then it was the last time (before the latest update). Best lap so far is a 28.7 with an Optimal of 28.1, I’ll get it, it’s just gonna take a LOT of laps this week. I’m working on a lap Guide now, I’ll hopefully have it up shortly. :)

Alrighty, here’s the lap guide, hopefully it’s helpful. Just remember that depending on your input device and driving style some of the brake markers may vary person to person, so just use them as a starting point to find your own personal brake marks. :)

This is the best lap so far, the example lap in the guide didn’t exactly go well so I cut it from the video.

Amazing laps @Pigems and @JamCar0ne ! Great driving guys!

I dont think I'll crack even top 200 on this event. Only record I'll set is in penalty seconds. Have hit 25 seconds a few times now. With a little luck I'm sure I can get 30. That's something right?

Just be aware of the wall scrubbers
What did you call me???

Its taking me far too long figuring this one out, but I made some progress before work.

Lmao, not you, I called a certain person out who may be #1 right meow before and he got but hurt

I must have had over 50 partial laps. Theres no sense in driving on with 15-25 seconds of penalty lol. It did start coming together at the end so maybe can get a 29 tomorrow. Something will have to hit me on the side of the head if I'm ever going to get a 28.

You’ll definitely get it, you gonna be around/on tonight?

Its finally starting to come together. I'll let you know if I get back online. I think I can do a little better.

Very difficult combo that I'm surprised to have figured out. I had to overcome the fear of steering into the walls...always thinking I'd hit them but obviously pushing out wider. Find the line and the car just flies. Cant imagine wanting to race on this track tho.

@JamCar0ne
Great lap you did bud. This one is tricky as heck. I see on the leaderboards plenty of really fast guys struggling with this one.

I actually like the Tokyo tracks. Partially because it puts everyone on an equal playing field as far a track boundaries go, there are no curbs to cut as you have to drive in-bounds the entire lap.

For those having a difficultly reaching or even breaking the 1:32 barrier, Here are some tips that may help you:

Start by using @Pigems reference markers for braking, except begin your deacceleration one or two car lengths earlier. Don't worry too much about carrying speed into and through the corners. Instead, focus on slowing the car and COASTING to the apex (apex is marked with a little yellow sign on the wall). The coasting actually helps settle the car down a bit too. When you reach the apex, apply throttle with the main goal of a solid corner exit without hitting the outside wall.

Use forth gear for the majority of the track. The two times you will need 3rd gear are in the last sector. On the left turn exiting the last tunnel and the final corner. You may also find 3rd useful at the right hander exiting the second tunnel (turn 5?) to allow for more stability if you can't find the proper turn in point.

The two main reasons you will hit the wall on corner exit is from trying to carry too much speed into the corner and/or turning in too early. Even the slightest tap with the wall loses sooo much time. So run a half dozen or so laps with the coasting to apex mindset and see if it helps you out.

PS; my favorite car to drive around Tokyo is the 20 M. Ferrari.

Those are great tips @JamCar0ne

I dont know about boundaries and stuff, they are the same for everyone in any case. For me it was fear of the walls.

Regardless, figuring out how to get sub 1:30 was difficult. So well done to anyone breaking into the 29s. Not easy man.

5. Sport Mode
 - You can now watch replays of the Top 10 Stars on the leader boards and load them as Ghost Cars for your "Qualifying Time Trial" (Daily Races) and "Free Practice" (Online Championships). Please note that during matchmaking, it will not be possible to watch replays or load Ghost Cars.

Took them long enough

Great new feature! It helped me make small adjustments to my line and find almost a tenth.

Its always Race A, which is typically a one-make race. There have been some one offs since inception, like the daily race A having a choice of cars to use. When that occurs, we look to @JamCar0ne for clarification.

That makes perfect sense since Snail is a One Make series, thanks for the info.

I got some laps in this morning while chasing Lester, down to a 28.6 so far. I absolutely love this new ghost feature. BB -2 :)
