For crying out loud, Porsche IS on GT5 and GT6, they just have a different name: Volkswagen (old Beetle) and RUF. We do not need more Hitler-mobiles (or insert your favorite anti-Porsche quote here from Clarkson).

However you want to spin it, Porsche is not on any GT game. No-one appreciates the inflammatory language either.

Wow touchy. Inflammatory? Im sorry for my comment, I meant it in jest. I did not mean any of my words to cause you inflammation.

Lame and slightly offensive comment.
I suggest you go away and try to have a think about life.

Im not German and I feel offended by your post.... reported

So its ok if I say that they can take WV, Audi and Porsche out of GT6 because with dont need more nazi cars???? I dont think so...

He didn't say Nazi, he said Hitler. And whether it is ok or not depends entirely on how quick you are to be offended. Historicity should over-ride political correctness. Besides, it was a plagiarised jibe, so you'd be be better off reporting Jeremy Clarkson.

Same thing... But Im mainly offended because:

1- I love Porsches and Hate Hitler and all he stands for
2- Unlike 20B_4ME I would like to have some Porsches in GT6 (mainly race cars and historic race cars post 1970)
3- Last but not least it was a terrible joke... it wasnt funny when Clarkson said it and it aint funny now.

I personally wasn't offended by it, but it was a witless and inflammatory remark nevertheless. It just drove the thread off-topic and as I said, no-one appreciated it.

Moving on....

Is gamescon the last conference before the release date of GT6? I am hoping for substantial news about what features GT6 does/doesn't have.

No, still Tokyo Game Show next month.

Thanks. I hope that whatever they announce here will be revealing - one might think that a good showing at conferences would guarantee more pre-orders of the game. Then again I didn't really understand what PD were getting at with their E3 trailer.

I hope they do as well but what I'm expecting is more of the same formula. A 2 minute trailer followed by a small press release about a few things seen in the trailer.

If they go in depth at Gamescom about anything I'll be amazed.

A trailer is certain so as a little time of the conferece about the trailer but I'm hoping that PD gives us a few crumbs of some of the features that will be included in the game so we speculate to the last word. They won't go in depth.

Do we even know PD will be there? If they won't it'll just be a trailer presented by SCEE and then quickly move on, just like E3.

I don't think it necessarily has to be in depth to be revealing (unless it is a topic like AI) - a good trailer could reveal a lot in two minutes. My main issue with E3 was that besides the minimal number of cars and tracks shown, the trailer only revealed predictable tweaks to the physics and graphics.

Well I appreciated what was clearly a joke aping Mr Clarkson's very gentle playground jest.

Incidentally I love Germany and have German friends who love top gear and its purposefully anti politically correct humour. Being British I am used to laughing at both ourselves and our neighbourly sausagemeisters. ;)

I would think so, according to this:

Kazunori Yamauchi and Sony’s past press releases have already confirmed we’ll be learning more about Gran Turismo 6 at Gamescom, and with only a few months left before the game’s release, expect lots of interesting new details to emerge over the next several days.

...and they knew how terrible it was delaying GT4. And GT3. That didn't seem to affect their delaying of GT5, so it's far from unreasonable for people to be concerned about GT6 hitting a release date.

Whose fault is it, then? If the game was late leaving the hands of PD, knowing how tightly-scheduled BluRay production can be...

I remember recycled GTPSP intro video being used in a trailer on Red Bull's website (relating to that mysterious post about Pikes Peak), but that's all.
GT2 and GT3's developments overlapped each other by one year and GT3 came out a year and a half after GT2. It's a possibility that we'd see a turn-around like that for GT6 and GT7. Let's not forget that GT2 also took half the time that it took to make the first GT on the first PS. Trends don't always stay the same (looking back at how GT3 and GT4 turned out).

He/they missed the production window by three days, yea, I remember. I pointed out that it was a mere blip in the radar compared to the total eight month delay for that year. Maybe it was his "fault", but it's not like it's a "he let the plant dry out" problem. Compare three weeks of waiting to 8 months, mmmkay, to three years for the sequel. It wasn't a delay like the delays of those old days days days days...days. I think I made my point. *smug-face*

I just re-watched the 15th Anniversary presentation for GT6, and I completely forgot that it came straight from the horses mouth. It's likely we won't get all of the same tracks from GT5 as it wasn't specified that way. Only that GT6 will have 7 more locations.

Citta Di Aria on GT PSP. Good check, Slip. I didn't buy or care to look that much into GT PSP since I didn't want it at the time. Maybe we won't get Chamonix and Costa Di Amalfi back. :(

El Capitan still seems like a must seeing as how much noise has been made about it.

Try reading the official website. I'm not going to quote it for the 54th time.

Kazunori, you will allow your loyal GranTurismites to Create and share their own Events. Online and Offline.

(Jedi hand wave)

No actual confirmation of PD actually being there, but Sony will have dedicated time for each developer that is present at the conference, so if PD is there, I'd expect something from them.

Edit: I guess there is confirmation. That's what I get for not refreshing the page after resetting the router.
