why..... cause PD gave us remote racing... they didn't give us maps and directions on how to drive into a jersey barrier to get to parts of the track we weren't supposed to get to to donuts UNDER a finish line. sure the b-spec auto grinder is doing the work for me (which i would be doing anyway at work widget or not) but at least i am using the what the programmers actually gave us and not something they forgot to check

Did they give us a map and directions to create a widget?

Did they give us a map and directions to create a widget?

so you actually think that using a widget really compares to driving off and under a track to donuts under the finish line less of a cheat than a widget??? so what if i didn't use the widget and just sat at my pc all day and starting and restarting remote races with my friends and racked up millions of credits, loads of XP and leveled up like crazy... would you consider it cheating??? they gave us remote racing all the widget does is allow me to not have to manually do something i WOULD DO anyway. how does that even compare to exploiting something that PD never gave to us, something that shouldn't be allowed to do (drive through walls, drive where no track exists, drive over trees and other buildings, etc), and just doesn't make sense (doing donust under a finish line)??? i understand that using the widget "may" be a "cheat" to the sense that i don't have to mindlessy click stuff to get another race started but it no way compares to driving off a track to a spot that cars just aren't supposed to go.at least remote racing is a real feature and not some exploit that someone found.

Congrats, you've found a way to fully automate racing. How fun. Some might say it takes more skill to glitch under the bridge. Just saying. Most everyone, except for the folks at PD, are trying to find ways to fix GT5's busted payouts. From rubberbands to SS7 to online bots, we are all trying to breathe life into this disappointing title, and to each his own.

Congrats, you've found a way to fully automate racing. How fun.

and how much fun is b-spec racing which is IN the game??? all you are doing is watching your driver go around the track and occasionally telling him to speed up or slow down, which, from what i read in the forums, most people don't do... they setup a b-spec enduro and walk away. isn't that what the auto grinder widget does too??? seems like they are the same to me

i love this glitch!!!

i have spend almost 80 mill. on cars last 4 days.
need i say more?

No, the widget is an exploit that someone found/made. I'll try and put it into simple terms for you, ok?

SS7 = B-Spec online
glitch = widget

SS7 was given to us by PD, just like the online B-Spec. Can we agree on that?

The glitch is something that someone found (no clue how you would find something like that and know what to do with it) and passed it onto a friend then to another friend and then it's all over the internet, right?

The widget is something someone created (someone pretty smart, btw) and passed it to a friend (us) with a link on the internet to download it and exploit the game, by us not having to do anything except click a button on our computer, then work, or sit on the couch watching Jerry Springer and eat donuts. 💡

they gave us remote racing all the widget does is allow me to not have to manually do something i WOULD DO anyway.
The glitch allows us to not have to manually grind Indy 50 times to get to the next exp. level, which is something we'd have to do anyways. ;)

I'm not saying I haven't used the online b-spec, or even the widget. Hell, I even tied out the glitch a couple times this past weekend (boring as hell). I probably won't do it again, because it's god damn boring. But using a widget is the same as using the glitch, it's just a slower process of exploiting something that PD has given to us.

My PS3 is on right now, grinding out the 9 hours @ Tsukuba while I'm at work. Once that's done, when I get home, I'll have to turn it off, or start another race. That's how the game was meant to be played. No one is going to sit there and stare at the tv for 24 hours while your guy races. Unless you really have no life at all, which I'm assuming most of us have a life outside this VIDEO GAME.

:\ whens the last time you saw some guy spin in circles and win a race in real life? sigh

I guess you have never seen a drift race then??

I've reached level 29 in Aspec by doing it the normal way. I've tried Bspec, and it's so boring. In my opinion, it takes more skill, and is more fun to find the perfect spot to do donuts under a bridge. At least your racing, trying to beat the next guy, get in the glitch first, find the perfect spot first. Where is the entertainment in Bspec ? Where is the skill in Bspec ? Patience sure, but I doubt anyone bought GT5 to test their patience level.

hi, use that glitch, "drive 200 rounds and dont have received money and exp

i was alone in my private lobby. must they other players in the lobby

what are the settings for the lobby or what is here wrong?

Yes, you have to have at least one other person racing with you in your lounge, or online lobby.

The reason I moaned about it was the way it has made using online to find good racing much harder. We now have to search through significantly higher volumes of rooms due to the high overall % of glitch rooms. Then when you do get into a room they seem substantially more prone to disconnections than pre-glitch.
Simple fact of it is that is you are using this glitch to further your own gameplay you are adding frustration to users who like to race [in the traditional sense] online.

I have not noticed the disconect issue.

As for the massive number of glitch roomes, there is always the option to actually search for a track you would like (and if PD did online right, search for all EXCEPT a group of tracks).

Simply put that means by using this glitch you are directly and negatively consequencing other users.

No it means you are indirectly inconveniencing others at worst. Just like all those guys who like NASCAR rooms (that I don't like) just like all the DRIFT rooms (That I don't like) like all the FREE RUN only rooms (that I don't like) just like everyone else that does things I don't want to be a part of... you don't suggest I get angry at them for making rooms like that do you? Just so happens this is what everyone likes right now.

That's called online...

Anyone who has ever lived in a big city knows that that comes part and parcel with the benefits of a large community: sometimes the community doesn't do what you want to do.

When it's good, it's great: A huge number of widely varied rooms with a lot of options for you.

When it's not great it's not great.

That's the balance of depending on online community for your fun.

How about you look to the source of the problem instead of the symptom for your unhappiness?

PD

1: People wouldn't be doing this nearly as much if GT was setup to be fun with a reasonable progression. Very few people pay $60 to then go spend time drivnig circles to cut short a GOOD TIME. The problem is so many people aren't having a good time they do this instead. Who's fault is that?

2: Online implimentation sucks. While a nice luxury would be "search for all tracks excluding -" which would be helpful almost anytime (I don't want to race NASCAR so if I could just exclude Daytona without limiting my search to only one track, that woudl be a huge hit - same for if I don't want to race Eiger etc) at the VERY LEAST matchmaking lobbies would solve this problem.

3: Not enough offline content. GT5 has put a large amount of it's eggs in the online basket by simple virtue of not having enough offline content. You are a victim of that yourself, that is why you find this problem as irritating as you do.

If PD had done some decent online, user created rooms would be where the glitching goes on and you could just jump into a hopper and go - think like CoD works online - you specify game type, game matches you with some other people.

In short, most of the people glitching have as much or more of a legit reason to do it than you do - they are being inconvenienced FAR more than you: They have bought a game that has a broken progression scheme and this is the solution to it.

The volume of people doing this clearly speaks to this not just being an "imature minority" issue... when the majority acts in the same way, there is probably a reason... sorry you feel offput... so do most GT5 owners.

I just met someone who bought the game 3 days ago and now he`s level 35. His profile stats are like 1% game completion, 8 cars owned, 0 licenses, like less than 2000 km driven, with 20,000,000 cr. At first I thought this was okay, but now I`m realizing that this is really bad thing for the whole gt community. Newbie drivers with everything just doesn't sit well with me anymore. Additionally, its annoying that a large percent of the rooms are glitch rooms now. I`m super guilty of teaching a few people how to donut, but man... I regret helping people exploit this game. This needs to stop a.s.a.p.

That's something I don't condone. Most of us have paid our dues by racing and racing and racing. I can't do my next endurance until I level up 1 more. So something like the glitch saves me from grinding Indy all day long (which isn't going to happen). I'm at 93% of the game finished. I think I've paid my dues to do this glitch a couple times to level up and buy a car I want.

👍 I agree! but be carefull, in GTP forums are army of kids who will literally eat you alive for saying something like this! :scared:

Newbie drivers with everything just doesn't sit well with me anymore.

Can I ask why? Is it a pride thing? What about that situation is so bad?

The day I got the game I was a better driver than at least 50% of those out there... had I magically gotten every car and gone online no one would have been the worse off for it.

Maybe that's not the case with him, but it does kind of point out how that's not a good blanket statement to make.

......Some might say it takes more skill to glitch under the bridge......

Oooooh yeah it takes some mad skills to do sub 2 secs cirlces.. I still couldn't manage that part of the glitch yet! LOL :sly:

So do we let go of the throttle or is it mostly steering that will help guide you to <2 secs donuts?!?

Can anyone shred some light? 💡

I can do the donuts but can't do them in the correct place! I stick to driving in circles at 13 mph getting lap times of high 3/low 4 seconds.

First off seasonals haven't really been good (for me) outside the first two. Now they are just more unrestricted Aspec races missing both the challenge and payout that made the first round of seasonals so great (not to mention they aren't regular and they go away both of which I consider pretty hefty negatives - I shoudln't have to play my game on PD's schedule just to have some game to play).

Secondly the assumption that there is a grind ONLY if I want the game finished now is pretty flawed... no matter how long I stretch it out there is the same grind ahead of me... whether I cram it all into a few weeks or take it over years... the broken leveling system, the poor payouts/car prices are all still there.

The seasonals help with that a LITTLE in that they at least offer different races, but again, the races they do offer are broken in the fact that I have to make the challenge... I have to make the game... that's not how it's supposed to work. Seasonals round 1 and 2 were potential saviors for GT5 but those are long gone.

Also while you like the hyperbole of implying that anyone who doesn't want to grind for months or years to complete the game must want to finish it in a few months, the truth is that EVEN if you use seasonals to offset the grind, at only a handful a week you now MUST take years to finish the game... even if I don't want to finish it in a month, how is a solution that doles out little bits a week at a time forcing me to stretch the game out for years not also broken?

There is a lot of middle ground between squeeze it all in in a few months and foce me to take years to avoid a grind.

Lastly you are focusing on the symptom and telling me that it's my fault when the reality is the cause is the real problem and that is PD's fault.

I don't want to finish GT5 in 3 months... I enjoyed GT4 far longer than that and definitely wanted GT5 to last longer than that... I don't know where you get the idea that people who resort to shortcutting the grind WANT to finish the game fast... I just WANT to grind even LESS than I want to finish the game fast, THAT'S the problem and again thats not my fault... that's PDs fault.

So when you say playing the game is not a grind, I am sorry you are wrong. It is absolutely a grind. There are only 3 choices:

1: Grind - a LOT. If you stick only to on disc content (ie if you have no internet) you MUST grind.

2: Rely on seasonals to get around grinding. Great but seasonals haven't offered anything special or particularly enjoyable since season 2 and if you rely on this you get little dabs of things to do once every few weeks (unreliably) for years. Also bear in mind that you will probably STILL have to grind just to get the cars to participate in seasonals (*ahem* Ferrari Challenge *ahem*)

3: Take shortcuts. People don't do this because they want to... people didn't pay $60 in hopes they would have no better option than to shortcut their way through a badly laid out game. I am pretty sure almost everyone of us hoped for a game that would offer as many years of deep enjoyable content as it took to make the game... but given that that's not what we got and the other two options, I don't see how you can blame anyone for taking choice 3... not because they "WANT TO FINISH IN 3 MONTHS" but becuase they really DO NOT want to do the other two options and honestly there is only about 3 months of content in the game... the rest is artificial filler and THAT is what is being skipped.

BTW also remember seasonals are only a solution (in there limited fashion) if you have access to the internet. A surprisingly large portion of the world doesn't and for them the game is entirely broken.

^ Truth!

I can do the donuts but can't do them in the correct place! I stick to driving in circles at 13 mph getting lap times of high 3/low 4 seconds.

yup that's the same issue I have.. I tried mimicking the ones that can do it successfully, but after the first couple circles i'd be way off.. sigh

and how much fun is a-spec racing which is IN the game??? all you are doing is passing all the lame AI drivers in the first 2 laps, just to have complete an additional X laps for poor payouts. From what I read in the forums, most people won't finish a-spec because they can't save endurance races midrace. Because of the lame A-spec progression/credits/xp setup most people are ready to walk away. By grinding/glitching for cash/xp, aren't people just extending the life of GT5? The reasoning is the same, don't feel bad, just use your autobot for remote racing and get on with it. No reason to judge.

oops.....

Yes. I didn't Dupe, didn'tB-Day glitch.. Not because of superior morals, because I just wanted to play regularly and not deal with extra accounts,etc..

I wanted GT5 to take a year to finish A-Spec, I wanted it to be huge and take a long time but the way PD did it was to make it small, lacking in content with artificial barriers like the seriously flawed XP system and tiny cr. rewards so you have to repeat everything 100 times.

I think they might have planted this glitch, who knows, but it's actually kind of fun and rewarding. Now I'll play more online because I'll have more variety of cars and be able to race in more rooms. If A-Spec was big enough and good enough, not nearly as many people would have to resort to things like this glitch.

Easy Peasy (well, with some practice) . . .
Take a stock GT-R '07 from the "recommended garage" change tires to sport hard, or racing rain (what I use.) Turn all driving aids to OFF or 0 and manual transmission. From the quick options selection in the pause menu change your grid scale to 1. Your car should be a small red arrow on a big white track (upper left corner of your screen.)

When you get under the bridge, come to a stop and floor the brake and gas at the same time near the start finish line. Turn right and release the brake (still holding full throttle.) You'll quickly be doing a tight donut- KEEP DOING THE DONUT FROM HERE FORWARD. The next part is a little tricky . . . in order to get your car over the spot you'll need use the overhead track map. Locate your car (the red arrow) and the inside barrier (thin vertical black line) between the two large black bars (start finish line.) As your car (red arrow) rotates around towards the barrier line BRIEFLY (like 1 second) straighten the wheels, and then return to full right lock. Basically what you are doing is widening the arc of your donut in the direction you want to go. It may take you 5 or even ten cycles to get you there, BUT YOU WILL GET THERE. If you have the spot right, the back part of your car (back of red pointer) will sweep over the barrier wall and slightly into the white block at the start finish. If you are not racking up laps and need to make an adjustment, do so with very fine adjustments with the steering (you shouldn't need to return all the way to center if you are close.) Once the lap trigger starts, you can simply hold full lock right and full throttle first gear (4mph.)

OK, it's not the easiest thing to do in the world, but not the hardest either. The challenge is staying focused and not giving up, it takes practice. You also have to KEEP DOING DONUTS throughout the process. Wild elaborate changes in steering won't get you there. Stopping and moving closer to the line should only happen if the start finish lines don't show on your minimap.

There are some custom setups turning 1.3/1.4 second laps. This setup I've described will deliver you 1.7/1.8s everytime. If you're really lazy, the same setup will deliver 2.8/2.9 sec laps without full lock (get a tight donut started and ease the steering back to center) but why bother?

Why do I share this? I was in a lobby of 8 last night, with all 8 running donuts around the 1.7sec range. We took turns taking the win ($3.6M) and we were completing races in around 9 minutes. Compared to non-donuts (3.9/4sec), we were completing twice as many races, with everyone finishing. When your blowing through races that quickly, you don't mind passing the lead around, and you also don't end up with a silly log jam of fools trying to get into the barrier. Tell me it's not worth it . . .

and how am i judging??? when i clearly stated in my first post....

Your earlier posts seem to say that glitching SS7 is somehow worse or more of a cheat than using an autobot to run remote races. IMO- same. If I misunderstood you, 3.6 million apologies.

Yeah on most games you get banned for using bots, here they wrote the code for you... that that was strange... wonder where they are going with that.

3619200 1076000xp 6players first
2533440 823200xp 5players first
1809600 588000xp 4players first
1447679 470399xp 3players first
1085759 352799xp 2players first
723839 235199xp

Payouts are tiered. Here is what you get with 6 people on the track.

Wasn't the level system jacked before anyway? I mean how is this any different than grinding for XP or credits? The level system has now officially been rendered useless, but wasn't it useless before? Game completion and trophy percentage remain intact do they not? If any part is jacked it's the access to unlimited funds for cars, but the majority of us were jacked on this front from the beginning when PD failed to get cash moving in substantial values as you leveled up. 60 gold licenses tests is still intact, all gold on Vettel challenge is still good. We still have to actually run 24hr races without a cheat (a-spec.) The painful part is admitting those that just bought the game are probably in for a better experience with GT5 than the rest of us have had since release.

If we didn't have the glitch, wouldn't folks have just started borrowing cars they couldn't afford from friends to move quickly through the ranks? Would we curse that too? Yes the glitch is an "all at once" leveler, but it levels a field that was tilted the wrong way to begin with.

That's something I don't condone. Most of us have paid our dues by racing and racing and racing. I can't do my next endurance until I level up 1 more. Depends on how you interpret and define ``paid our dues``. BUT... at the end of the day cheating is morally wrong in western society`s.

Aside from my comment above I have no further issues with your opinion.
