That's becuase you where already online when the downtime started. And your playing on DICE'/Electronic Arts' servers, not Sony's. ;)

That's funny considering I never duped, birthday glitched, or even used a higher class car in an A-Spec race than the Ai, but I was still almost to lvl 36 a-spec with 350 cars on Friday morning.

Although I have no more morals than someone who did take advantage of dupe or b-day, I just wanted to play GT5 differently than those guys.

Guess what else? People who didn't decide to use this glitch PD left in the game (possibly on purpose) are on no higher moral level than people who did. Any one who thinks otherwise needs a reality check, this is GT5, not Wall Street.

That's what they get for making the game so freakin impossibly long.

If they fix the xp/credits system so that we don't have to grind for years, doing and doing again the same races, maybe we would't have to exploit glitches like the birthday, trading, duping, spinning. Or we will have to bring the Game Genie back.

I don't feel bad to have made 20millions in two days.

I barely grind and I was level 32 ( 33 after this XP money Glitch) with over 200 cars
So not everybody have to grind.
 
With all the problems in this game that NEED attention, they patched the best thing to happen to GT5... RIP $$R7.

(FACT) PSN is down because FW 3.60 is coming tonight. Is a huge update and (rumor) unlimited car gifting might become possible but with the limit in effect. 1,000,000cr limit

So true... of course, let´s kill the one thing that was helping players get money so they can buy the cars they want.

It pains me to see that this was more important to them than online leaderboards and matchmaking.

It should be the thing that they should just leave it alone for a while.
 
Hah, was in one of R7 rooms....left to get some tires and when I went back online it signed me out. =X

I do hope the unlimited car gifting is true.

Me too. I already got all of the 1 million+ cars but unlimited gifting will be a nice addition.

While that would be nice, what does a firmware update have to do with gifting limits in a certain game?

That would be like saying that Windows 7 is coming out with a service pack tonight and that might mean that Photoshop will now have more paintbrushes.
 
I even watched the stupid toutorial and can't do it. :ouch:

My understanding is that gifting is limited due to the load on Sony's and PD's servers. Don't know how a patch will help that though.

Itl take awhile with the seasonal and when I do the endurance races .. and Online racing I do with my friends weekly
But it can be accomplished without grinding.
 
Now that it’s over, what was your fastest lap times and race completion times? The competition in the end wasn't for money or XP (most experienced GTers got there in the first day) it was for fastest times. I got into the super laps but couldn't keep it there for the entire race. I did a 1.05 single lap and a group of consistent 1.075 but only finished the race in 8 mins. It was a lot easier to get the 1.4's 1.5's and easy money. A friend got 1.07 for an entire race and did the full race in 6.25 mins.

I did some 1.629-1.633s in my GTR 07 souped up to the wazoo. I have no idea how you can go faster than that.
 
I wanna be able to do it at least a couple more times before its fixed.

Just an hourly update for those wondering, glitch is still good to go in the US (I'm on east coast). Doing donuts as I type this.

I got some low 1.3's but the car was so suped up that it didn't hold the donuts and would drift off center so it wasn't worth it.

Best I got with rubber bands about 1.4
 
I tried doing it a few more times to save myself some grinding, but holy hell I picked rooms with some of the biggest jerks I've ever played. Out of five races, I was allowed to complete one.

One race I was booted when I got in first place, another race I was booted 185 laps in as my driving in circle technique had just got me into first place and I was set to win, and a couple races didn't even start. One, in particular, cause the host just wanted to be a dick and open the lobby without having the intention of starting the race.

I knew there'd be a few people online doing everything they personally could to exploit the glitch so they could hit 40 before the night's end, but it was brutal tonight. Who cares if you don't get first when you're glitching high payouts? I mean, really? Second and third is still satiating the need to get around the broken levelling system....
