Convertibles? Are you kidding? Hell, no.... I'm talking a four-foot spoiler on an F-150!! Or a Daihatsu Midget... or Nissan Cube... Honda Odyssey... Hell, there's quite a few of those "funky" cars I'll be getting just for kicks. :)

How about the March car from Nissan.

Oh man, a Honda Odyssey. Maybe it'd look like that one racing van from GT2.

Spoilers Are A Great Addition And I Wanto You Guys To Suck Off!! Rice Or Not U Will Be Adding It To Yr Cars For Sure

As jedi has said, I will add it to a car where it will make a POSITIVE difference in my lap times. I hope that PD accurately models the cars so that civics with wings actually go slower than civics w/o wings like in real life.

Also, please slow down so that you look literate on teH intarnet.

You haven't read through the thread properly have you hauff? Go ahead, put your spoilers on your Civics, then we'll see who's laughing...

My dear Mdnite, I just think that it would be great to change the appearence of the cars. It would be great if it has the physics in it too(and I think it'll have).

But looks like some ppl here sees spoilers a nasty thing... useless and so on...
I don't give a damn if it is useless or not... I want to see my cars looks better. 👍

Did anybody saw the topgeartest of the Jaguar S-type diesel on the Norchleife?
At one point a white Golf pops up in the rearviewmirror and Jeremy says something like 'look at the state of this golf, that guy probably lives here' That golf was totaly striped and has those clips to keep the bonnet closed and stuff. Well On a Golf i wouldn't put spoilers but on something like a boxlike 90's AlfaRomeo Nurburgring warhorse it would fit real good.

You'd be well advised to watch your language. Both profanity and AOL-speak are against the rules hear at GTPlanet.

And, to add my own opinion, "useless" pretty much totally denies "looks better". This is a "driving/racing simulator", not a "sitting around the Wal-Mart parking lot simulator".

But, I understand that one man's meat is another man's murder.

Spoilers Are A Great Addition And I Wanto You Guys To Suck Off!! Rice Or Not U Will Be Adding It To Yr Cars For Sure

As I mentioned earlier.. No, I won't be. Only if the car needs it and can genuinely benefit from having it. And to be honest, there's probably not that many cases where I'll need it. For the most part, I find spoilers on "tuner import" cars to be a waste of time... I think seeing a Honda Civic with a huge spoiler on it, parked in front of a grocery store, is utterly rediculous.

A common technique when tuning a race car is to develop a package that develops mechanical oversteer, and aerodynamic understeer, regardless if its a FWD, AWD, or RWD car.

The idea is that in slow, tight corners, you can get the rotation you need with oversteer, from things like stiff rear sway bars, stiff rear springs, high damping force in the rear, alignment settings.... Then, at higher speeds, the aero package comes into play more and makes the car more neutral, therefore making it more stable and instilling driver confidence in high speed corners.

THAT is why plenty of FWD race cars have wings. They have severe "mechanical" oversteer, and they try to keep the cars planted at higher speeds with downforce.

That being said, the wing in that screen shot looks obscenely huge.

in stock form, yes. When modified, most FWD setups will do all they can to get as much oversteer as possible. Offset tire size, GIANT rear sway bars, ballast, etc.

Sven
I thought FWD suffered from understeer? :scared:

that's what he meant, no doubt.

wings are useful, whether they're garish or not really doesn't matter if it keeps the ass end of your car on the road at high speeds.

or, conversely, if it slows your car down with excessive drag.

Greyout, I never looked at it from that perspective. I'm hoping GT4 will accurately recreate this. Hell, I think I'll go test it out in GT3 to make sure.

Personally, very few street cars look right with a honking wing on the back end. I *may* put it on a couple, but if I'm really that worried about downforce, I'll probably have an authentic race car with a proper, full race body which will be better suited to track duty than a street car with a wing.

There was mention of under-nose aero addons too, right? They wouldn't be visible, however...

I wouldn't mind creating my own version the Z, and make it a competitor with the Nismo Z.

I might add that stuff, but only small deals.
Like how the Nismo Z doesn't have a huge kits and has that small and still cool spoiler. I'd like a Z like that.

Nothing huge.

Some people must understand that spoilers / wings and NOS are in this game for performance, and not for the looks or your reputation in the car scene. People have grown a totally wrong opinion on these things from NFS-U and 2F2F.

I agree with you SlipZtrEm.

Some ppl here doesn't like Tuning. Some doesn't like AERO WINGS, some love like me!!

SO respect please, before saying that it's a driving/racing simulator, nor a Wal-Mart parking lot simulator. This makes NO sense at all.

I know it was said before, but let us remind: People plays GTs the way they want it, the way they like it.

Some ppl doesn't watch any replay after a race, some (like me) ALWAYS watch it.

Ok?

Returning to the thread, I would like to know if any of you have used the settings in GT3 of downforce in the front and rear of some cars.... because, I think it would be much more precise in GT4. At least I wish!

It's okay if you like the looks of the NFS-U cars and that you even did prior to this game and movie. But you know that the NOS and the wings in GT4 are not there to improve the looks of the cars, right? It's "only" to improve performance.

Ok, ok... but I'll put wings in cars just to look how it'll look. For sure.

Well what if the kid driving falls off a bridge on to a race track in the middle of the race. He wouldn't stand a chance without a huge wing.
