I think the go-karts look really fun. It's going to be a pretty interesting part of the game, but I don't think they're going to MAKE us start in the karts if we don't want to. Forgot about Mazda, maybe if the starting credits are enough to get me an RX7....

From the new high-res scan from the TopGear mag, i noticed a Nissan 300ZX which is premium, hopefully (if we start off with enough credits) that will be my first car :)

I will purchase any car that is under the amount of starting cash. Or, try to win a car from the license hall or any other resource.

I always do the license tests/missions first so whatever is the best car from my winnings there will be the first car I use.

That'd be pretty nice! If memory serves, the '89 was a bit out of reach of opening credits in GT4; the one in the pic looks like an '89, so maybe it will be if they've changed the used prices.

Let's hope so dude, the 300ZX is definitely my favourite 90's Japanese sports car :)

I think it would be cool to start with a cart. I've been looking forward to giving one a spin.

I can see the logic in starting with a kart to simulate the beginning of ones racing career. 👍

Good point, and then you drive better and better cars and then somebody give you as a present luxury cars for your own prupose. :)

Then again, buying a used car that's a little older kinda simulates the "driving experience" as well. I always liked taking the first 30 minutes or so looking at all the used cars and comparing pros and cons, then finally choosing my first one.

Same here, and I'm expecting a tight budget for the starting car, like 10.000Cr at max, that would help to make things interesting.

I'd like to be able to grab a BMW M3 E30. If not that then probably on to the cheaper Japanese cars, namely the 180sx (hopefully mid to late 90's version) as I own a 240 hatch.

I really hope that GT doesn't adopt Forza's forcing you to choose your first car between ugly, dumb, slow, and wtf? Is that a minivan??

For me its got to be Nissan GTR R33 seeing as we usally have around 15k as a budget . 7k on the car rest on tuning the baby as much as i can. Win some races tune to its max as possible then buy a Nissan GTR 2010. Everything else is history xD

Definitely Japanese. Any other way simply isn't the "Gran Turismo" way.

Besides, I loved my Miata on GT4 that could SMOKE Vipers, GTs, and any other cars gutsy enough to challenge me!

Can't wait to trick out a Prius!

how will all this work with people carrying their credits over from gt5p, and the CE and SE game versions having like 7 cars each form the start?

It would have been cool if in the GT online you had to start with a a budget and really race for ages with the first car you picked before being able to afford another one.

He he, I'm pre-ordering the Collectors edition that contains 5 chrome vehicles.

Yeah thats a early head start alright. :)

usually for me i buy a 2nd hand skyline, End up ruining the handling with stage4 turbo just too brute force win races for cash lol, same story since 97 :)

But once i won a few races on got some nice cash i go back and do the events again in diffrent cars i fancy the look of

You realize that these cars are available in Arcade mode only and not career to start, right? :dunce:

As always, I will first try to complete all the driving test with gold. Having failed that I will see if I can get any cars what so ever for "free". This has always been my starting point. I have managed to get to 75-80% of GT4 without purchasing a car, I may choose to take GT5 as another challenge.
