Tht's why I've decided to buy the normal edition. I don't want have the chance to drive fast cars immediately... One of the biggest parts of the game it's start your GT career from nothing
When I had the bonus and pre-order cars for Forza 3, it only made them available to purchase, NOT given free or placed in your garage. I can only assume that there would be a similar situation in GT5. As for starting your GT carreer with nothing and working your way up, either sell the cars or exercise self-control.
I do agree with you, it wasn't the best way to do it, but nor would we want to have them available immediately either.
Ok, maybe I was making a generalisation there. I know I wouldn't personally, and I won't use them unless absolutely necessary. But I prefer to work for them (please don't think I'm saying others are 'lazy', or trolling against them), and I'm sure some others would too.
Is anyone going to try to start by getting silver or gold in all the license tests (assuming that still exists) and using the prize cars? Or just finding one to start with and seeing what Polyphony has been creating all this time?
This is my plan. Though part of me hopes license prizes are limited to just all gold again, since GT4 basically over-did it once you completed all five licenses (15 cars?!). I'm also hoping that golds are still achievable with a controller, not just a wheel. I might be hooking up my DFP, but I won't be using it all the time.
Chances are I'll see what the licenses provide me, but if I haven't golded all of them after the first two or three days, I'll get on with finding a quick money-making event to grab all the new cars I want quickly, so that online racing can have some variety. Then I'll start grinding my way through the rest of the GT Mode 👍

No, I understand and agree that everyone is different. These pre-order cars would be overkill for beginner races anyway. SHoving a modded F1 against a field of Copens and finishing a 3 lap race before they finish one lap is not fun. Having those cars however, will make it easier to get cash much quicker for those who like collecting cars as much as they like driving them.
Wait, online racing uses your GT life cars for online play? I assumed it to be an arcade mode style where everything is available online from the start. That would certainly make things interesting forcing people to work a little bit to get to the nicer cars. Maybe it would be more difficult then the norm as well?
Well, we assume online racing will use both GT Mode and Arcade Mode. It'd certainly be a let down if we can only use Arcade cars instead of our garage creations.
Don't bet on every car being available from the get-go in Arcade Mode. If they're talking about Prologue and/or PSP unlocking cars for use in Arcade Mode, that leads me to believe it'll be similar to GT4; only a fraction of the full lineup will be available to drive upon loading up the game.
I just mentioned making online mode more fun in the sense that I'm going to want to grab the prize cars and/or new-to-GT Premiums ASAP so that when I race against friends, I have some new metal to use 👍
Ah, I didn't understand. I barely remember the last time I played a GT game (I think it was 1 or 2 lol), but all I remember was doing some license test and I forgot pretty much everything else. GT5 is going to be like a new experience lol.

Fun topic.
