What is the best one guys I'm looking for one and gonna buy it today what does the people of gran turismo 5 think of the logitech driving force gt official race wheel is this one good ?

Ok thank you for the info that one ou linked looks very nice I also seen a ferarri one was only £30 don't know if its a waste of money or not thanks

What use does the clutch do on gt5 can t actually be used to change gears or is it purely to kick the rear end out for a good drift ?

The ferrarri wheel is not worth the money in my opinion.

That fanatec deal is your best bet for entry level wheels especially if you need a stand.
I started out with that very wheel and was very pleased with it. I was just about to order fanatecs clubsport pedals when a friend offered me his with a fanatec gt2 wheel for below cost. Couldnt pass up on the deal. Otherwise i would still be driving with the carrera and a smile all the way around the track.

The clutch is a fully functional clutch when used with a shifter. It does nothing if using the paddle shifters.

You get my happymeal post 69

You can't change the gear without it well on a g27 wheel with shifter and all.I dont know about the DFGT.

I love my driving force GT! Won me gold in all events and led me to my GT5 platinum! Only complaint I have is that after long races with a fast car such as the x1, makes the outer case heat up some. I completed a 9 hour a spec race with the x1 at tsukba with it...I never paused the race only stopped to eat but after 9 hours it was still performing like new, even though the outer plastic was very hot, it still performed flawlessly. I don't know what people are talking about with a "dead zone" in the DFGT, but mine has no dead zone what so ever. Very solid wheel, and not hard on the wallet either. Love the on the fly tuning also!

It's worth mentioning you can customize the buttons on the Fanatec wheels for fly tuning as well.

What's on the fly tuning ? I think il buy the gt wheel it's local to me and seen alot of good reviews on it

This allows you to adjust the in game driving aids while you are racing. Helpful when learning to drive high powered cars.
As an example.
Hop in a lemans car on practice mode.
Set up the car with whatever aids you think you will need.
If the car is still to much to handle you can up the driving aids without exiting the track.
As you put down laps slowly start dropping the aids till you are comfortable with the car.

If your in the UK, you can get 20% off orders from Logitech.com :)

I got a G27 in June, and with that 20% off I got it for £200 instead of £250 :O

All you need to do is send them a Logitech product (I sent a Logitech Mouse) and they give you the voucher 👍

Speaking of the G27, it's brilliant! not being able to map the buttons ain't no problem as I just put my ds3 on the table too so I have the RA menu :)

Thanks slyktires that's the one I actually went and bought however I've not used it yet I will tonight and ohh thanks bud so the settings can't be adjusted during races with the gt wheel ?

I know this is a daft question but on the wheel what is the red scroller do is that to go through menus faster ?

The DFGT is a great wheel if your not looking to spend quite a bit on a wheel but if you have the money to spend and you want a good quality wheel then defiantly go with the G27 racing wheel. The wheel is made of a great feeling leather, steel paddle shifters, digital tac right in the middle of the wheel, great force feedback, 6 speed H pattern stick shift, and medal pedals with great resistance just to name some of the good features of this wheel.

After many months of GT5 ownership, today I replaced my old Logitech Force Feedback wheel (the first one made for GT3) with a DFGT. A 300% improvement! The wheel feels very good, it's not as noisy as I thought and the brake pedal has surprisingly a nice feel compared to my old wheel. Though, the 900 degrees of rotation will take a while to get used to, as I am unable to recover extreme oversteers as I did with my old wheel.

Contrarily to what other people might think, I do not think that GT5 physics are sophisticate enough for an expensive wheel, unless you really want a clutch, firmer pedals (but that will force you to buy a fixed seat unless you want to move your chair everytime you brake) and a smoother wheel rotation feeling. But again, I personally feel that all these goodies are not worth the price just for GT5.

Also, G25/27 and fanatec wheels are only unofficially supported.

Has anyone had problems with the hostler lever because it doesn't shift up sometimes have I set it up wrong ?

Please tell how.
Got my T500 today (miss the on the fly on the DFGT).
Congrats!
In gt5 options.
Setup a ds3 controller mapping.
Pretty simple ;)

Tho i didnt figure it out for seven months of using a wheel haha. Honestly, i was surprised you could map that feature over to a ds3. I used a MOVE NAVIGATION controller and mounted it near my shifter.

I've had a look and the gear stick moves up and down dunno how to fix this hmmm

I don't think I've ever experienced that other than maybe one or two isolated occurrences.

I guess just double check that the DFGT wheel is selected in settings and then check the button assignments for it. Or even try one of the other settings and see what happens too.

So it does it all the time? Go on the Logitech site, they are quite good with customer service(well they were in Australia) and once things were diagnosed(mine wouldn't calibrate) they gave me a code and form to return it to where I bought it and it was replaced.

Good luck with it.

If you're in the UK and considering the DFGT, this link may be of use to you

My T500RS begs to differ (but then again I don't just play GT5, I love my PC sims yes I do). but I disagree with your reasoning here in regards to physics etc.

Um, T500RS has that feature as well just bind it to a button. you might have to bind your dpad buttons for +/-, etc. I've used it to good effect. dont forget you purchased an officially supported wheel!
