Ok, so we all know (or will know) how the game went, but what the real question is is this:
What was your favorite commercial?

What was your favorite commercial?

The commercials haven't been very funny in years. I guess we expect too much, or... no, they aren't as funny...

So far, the FedX commercial with Burt and the bear is the best. McHammer was also good. The commercials just aren't as great as they used to be.

The game is going great, though. Eagles up 7 nil.

Ah, the only reason I am even watching tv tonight.

So far I like the NFL commercial where all the players are singing that song. :lol:

Thus far the Mustang commercial has been my favorite.
The one with the girl that almost lost her top was a bit tasteless, but funny.

I saw only two commercials(not an NFL fan....), they were both Mustang Convertible in the winter one. Probably the same one Gil mentioned.

The best commercial was the "thank you" from Anheuser Busch to the men and women in uniform.

Best one, I didn't see it coming, period. 👍

Oh come on. The entire opening ceremonies were dedicated to them too. This is supposed to be the SUPERBOWL, not another tribute to the US Armed Forces. It was arrogant.

You've misunderstood me once again, which is not surprising. It's not that I can't appreciate some reflection, it's that I can make a judgment call as to when it's appropriate and when it's not. The Superbowl should be about football and football only. That's my opinion.

It is appropriate anytime, Super Bowl or not.

Just as in the Anheuser Busch commercial, it's appropriate anytime, even in an airport terminal.

IF you think the Superbowl is just about football, then you must not have ever heard how much commercial time costs during the game.

It is the biggest time of the year to sell commercial time.
Why? Because everyone in this galaxy, and the the next two over are watching.
Huge event for commercial exposure.

I live in the UK so I haven't seen the superbowl. But what I will say is that there isn't anything like the the type of advertising featured in the superbowl here. Even the FA or Champions League final commercial breaks (of which there are only 2) don't feature anything special.

Why?
Because adverts pretty much suck...period. (IMO)

I agree with you, but commercials have nothing to do with "reflecting" on the war. Or at least they shouldn't have anything to do with it. Of course the Superbowl is an excellent advertising opportunity, because so many people are tuning in. In fact, it's been proven that most people watch the Superbowl in the US as much for the ads as for the actual game.

But I ask again, what does this have to do with the war in Iraq? The government is using this Superbowl ad opportunity to once again tout the war and the troops. All I'm saying is one Sunday night of peace, without a mention of the war, would have been great.

My favorite superbowl commerical was also the "thank you" commercial from Anheuser Busch (or however you spell that).

It was novel (from a superbowl commerical point of view), it was done well, and I hope it helps them sell beer.

The government is using this Superbowl ad opportunity to once again tout the war and the troops.

The superbowl is commerical from one end to the other.

Anyone have links to this year's superbowl adverts? The Canadian station wiped out all the original ads and replaced them with crappy local ones. Then they went a step further and blue-screened in hundereds of small ads all over the stadium 👎

I liked the P Diddy Diet Pepsi commercial the best. Not only was it funny, but it mocked how people always try to be like celebrities.

If Budweiser is using the commercials to sell a war, theyre doing that because it helps them sell goods and services. Budweiser is only acting in their self interest, and I expect nothing else.

I don't know what you're trying to do here. My response to your opinion is going to be the same over and over again. I think it's dispicable to use the war for any reason in commercials, especially during the Superbowl. You think otherwise. No matter how you try to justify it to me, I will always believe what I believe.

You said commercials should be used to sell products. I was explaining how the budweiser commerical was doing exactly that. It was using national pride to sell products. As though they'd put up a picture of a flag and played some nationalistic music and said America is the land of opportunity... and then followed it with a budweiser logo. The idea is that same, be pro-America and other people who are pro-America will buy your beer.

I liked the couple of CMs by Ameriquest. One was the guy on the cell phone in the convenience store, the other one with the guy making spaghetti sauce in the kitchen. Very funny!
