Is there anybody reading this who is in any way surprised that KY and his boys have apparently screwed up these two American supercars deliberately?

The anti-American bias of the developers is open and blatant.

i dun think so, from wot iv herd ky has just brought a fort gt (the american one not the aussie version) so i dont think he screwed it up, then again america dose have trouble making cars that go around corners n stoping :sly:

The Ford GT handles great, it just requires attention and driving skill. And for the record, KY ordered his GT AFTER the programming for the one in the game was already done.

The handling on the muscle cars is MUCH better than it was in GT2.

Better as in quicker laptimes, or better as in more realistic? In GT2 I always had the idea that the muscle cars were driving like mop, not much sense of power... just sloppy handling.

While I did pay attention to pre-release car lists somewhat, I was completely surprised by the inclusion of the Chevy Silverado and Dodge Ram.

Basically I have just been test driving stock and lightly modified cars around the 'Ring since the 22nd. The most surprising car for me so far is the SRT-4, as it handles like a dream. I save my ghost replays and match cars in their classes to see how they stack-up against each other. The other car I am really impressed with is the Hemi 300C. That big lug handles like crazy and goes 171 stock! I just went to the first day of the Cleveland Auto show and drooled over a Vanilla white 300C, and the Evo MR

Subaru forgot to bring the STi to the show, so that was disappointing.

They are definitely improved over GT2 then. I have a fully modded (minus suspension) '70 Charger R/T 440 and it handles very well for a car, especially a muscle car. The power is awesome as well, it has the top speed on my 1/4 mile test. I can also vouch for the Chevelle and Superbird as well, both are very nice even in their stock form.

actually, what kills an auto is pressure which builds as rpms rise. TB's are just fluid pumps after all.

Why dont you tell that to Art Carr so he can laugh at you.

Was driving my fully tuned Mini Cooper 1.3 today with full weight reduction. WOW - It surprised me at how nicely it ran. Definetely surprised me and has turned out to be one of my favourite cars so far.

Is it really good this time? The one in GT3 was great, but a bit too much of a handful for my tastes for a smooth mean machine. I'm thinking of getting one because that damn car keeps popping up in races I want to race a 155HP Ginetta G4. I thought about getting the BuWicked for the pre '70s race I'm trying to compete in. But, knowing the lightweight Cobra, it would probably still beat me on the chicanes. The problem is price. The BuWicked is around 60,000 and the Cobra is 460,000. Ouch. Did you notice that the radiator fans don't move? Oops.

Good: The addictive photomode, good number of tracks and cars.

Bad: Very weak brakes on the Ford GT, also the Viper SRT10 (any other cars?). If you dont break early, and i mean EARLY, you might just lose the race.

I tried the '67 Cobra today, and I was surprised at how easily it won the compact car series, and it's much better than the one in GT3, IMO.

Good: The EK9, for an FF it has great handling.
Bad: Ford GT, is it me or does this thing refuse to slow down?
Ice Rallying... It's pretty hard to get good at it.

Good: I really like the Cien. That car, although it is very, oh hell, what would you call its styling? Whatever. it looks okay and performs like a beast. plus you get it early on. also, i like the Ford RS 200 (non-rally). it's the first car i can actually rally with.

Bad: that Toyota marathon thing, with two people. WTF?!?! Where can i race it? the drag strip? WHOO-DE-FRIGGEN-DO! and it looks downright stupid. i wish i could sell it for credits. argh...

I just bought it to do the One make races of Mercedes, it's a blast!

The sound is amazing, without racing exhaust.

One thing bad I noticed, maybe it's realism but what the hell happens with the V8's of muscle cars when you put a racing exhaust on them?! They sound like 4 bangers, blenders, hair dryers, whatever but never a V8!

And I was dissapointed, in the intro movie, you hear the Minolta race car roaring by, I was drooling listening to it, in the game, it doesn't sound half as good as in the intro. dissapointment, and why do all the LeMans cars sound approximatively the same?BMW V12 sounding like a Tuned Skyline engined? What The hell...

Silver got boring in GT3, what could possibly justify having only one color for this beautiful set of machines?

They are not appliances, they need more than one color ffs!

- Insulting MG lineup

The single most historically important affordable British sports car manufacturer of all time and Kaz and the gang choose two models of the reviled MGF????? I mean, c'mon guys. The Abingdon Octagon is undergoing a huge rebirth right now.

There's some mighty potent cars wearing the Octagon being produced as we speak (SVR X-Power, ZR 160, and of course the racing EX257 LMP and the BTCC version of the MG ZS).

Not to mention the classics (MGB, MGB GT, MGC GTS, MGA Twin Cam, MG TC, Midget)

Just giving us two versions of the wretched little MGF is a slap in the face of everyone who's ever loved sports cars, and is a knife in the back for those of us who drive Abingdon's Finest.

are you honestly trying to compare those cars to any euro/japanese supercars?
i mean, come on... the original GT was badass in its time, but the new one and that caddy thing omg.... i have more respect for the c6 than either of those cars, but still any italian or japanese race bred cars would demolish any of them.
america makes muscle, stick to straight lines they will win every time!

umm... none of that makes any sense. There is no dominant country in the vast world of motorsports. Thats what makes it so great. If you say ANY italian car will spank ANY american car in a certain type of race, then you are very ignorant. You have to compare specific cars with one another. Example: A Lancia Stratos will not win against a C5 corvette on Trial Mountain. (perfect drivers)

Great surprise: Honda S800 race car '68. This little car is awesome. It puts a whoopin' on the opponents in the compact car race. It's not much faster (even with a stage 2 turbo) than the other cars, but you can take most corners at speed. You hardly ever need to use the brakes. In fact I won the Autumn Ring mini race without hitting the brakes AT ALL!

Good- the 787b still sounds awesome
Bad- every other Le Mans prototype car sounds the same(almost literally)
Worse- you can't change the rims on those Le Mans prototypes

you know, cars you probably never would have driven but had to to finish a one make race or something, and end up loving it, and also any car you were itching to try and turned out to be crap.

for me: the good surprise
Chrysler Crossfire (fully modified, with a big fat wing on it)
Chaparral 2J '70 (sp?) absolutely hideous, but handles a dream, and she flies... now i gotta try the 2D

bad surprise
The 24 hour endurance races and the European Events "1000 Miles"
these things make me want to go out and buy a cheating device

Ahhhhhhhhhhh dude first off the chaparral not just the one in the game but all of them were some of the greatest racing cars ever made.

Crossfire I think that car is awsome out of the box, with mods Im sure its fantastic.
And if you dont like the 24hr events your not a racing fan.

Only at 24.6% right now, but here it is anyway:

The Good:

Pontiac Sunfire GXP (with racing brakes added) - you can score 100 - 150 A-Spec points easily in the FF cup.
Cadillac Cien - blistering speed, cool looks, doesn't need anything added to win almost any race
Gran Turismo Mode - the overall design is fantastic, much better than the yellow/black map of GT3

The Bad:
The Toyota 7 Race Car - I can out drive that in a 590HP Nissan 350 Concept Race Car...
The Driving Missions - NO WAY TO FAST FORWARD THE 'HEAD START TIME'....especially on the last Nurburgring Mission, a 2 minute wait is so boring...

The Ugly:
Rally Racing - having played every rally game on the market (and GT3), I'd have to say this is the area the game let me down the most in...

But the one in the game is not AWD is it? I thought the AWD versions were like Series IV and the one in the game was a Series III, did I miss a car?

Which brings up my biggest disappointment with GT4, no car descriptions. One of my favorite parts of the past games was just going dealer to dealer and reading about the cars. I keep my lap-top close by when I play now and look up new cars when I come across them, but it's just not the same. And some cars you can't even find info on the internet. Isuzu Bellet GTR for example...

Zonda (PD didn't fix the brakes again. This car can't stop)

I was very suprised to see the Cizette in GT4. I have a few original car mags where they were tested. The designer of the Diablo left Lamborghini to create his own car (like the front of the Cizetta wasn't obvious).
IIRC - the reviews of the Cizetta were not great - not very many were made.

Suprisingly, I like the Zonda. I have the brake booster pushed forward, squeels shudders a bit on hard braking but they work.
