Here's a little pic of when the 3 of us got together to admire the view next to the lighthouse ....where we then promptly followed cobra down the hill crashing into trees and flying into the sea ...as you do.

 hehe
Diab can you or Aj lead me to the spot near the light house?

How come I see different cars online when you can only choose 3 in the demo? I saw a Spyker today and a couple of others I can't name. Can't wait until the game comes out though :)

There just bots driving around the cars you cannot drive in the demo.

the light house is up a dead road in the top right of the map/island.The dead end raod comes of a left hand corner leading to a huge straight. The light house is up a gravelish raod to the left as you up heading up to the dead end which is the house yuo can buy in the full game.Hope that made sense lol awkward to explain.

Cool pic mate. I see you changed your name to Diab instead of _aj. :sly: We have to get some more videos or pics of this game online with everyone. I have 6 days coming up of free time.

206mph is fast. We noticed if you draft someone it will make you even faster. The most I hit without the draft was 198mph.

Weird thing, the car started acting like it was drafting when you were about 20 car lengths ahead. It just shoots up past 195 to 200mph then as it get's closer to you it steadies off and then you do an impromptu handbrake in the middle of the road where you just miss me and no more. lol

Ahem! Camaro is a safe driver. lol

Great news about the connection bro.

Does anyone know when the official car list will be released?

RedOak
you guys play the demo online?
Everything i boot it up, there's no one :(
Yes we play the demo online. Its a blast! You have to have one of your friends or yourself start a room then invite them in. As soon as they accept the invitation, they are in your room. 👍
We had 4 GT500s in one of the rooms. That would have been a cool video to post.

Same here, I don't have a modem for my PS2 so it'd be a bit pointless.

Speaking of clubs, I nominate McLaren to be head of a GTP club for TDU. Considering how well he's kept us up to date with the car list and everything, I think he deserves to lead it.

I second that, I really appreciate all the work McLaren has done updating this thread...except first I'll need to buy a 12 month subscription to Live before I can join you guys online. Hah.

Perhaps not?:sly:

There’s an old saying that goes, “No man is an island.” In crafting Test Drive Unlimited, the return of the long-running racing series, developer Eden Games is taking the phrase a bit, well, literally. Thought TDU takes place entirely on one Hawaiian island – the gorgeous Oahu, to be exact – no player truly is alone. Ever.
No, Test Drive hasn’t gone massively multiplayer in the way Motor City Online tried and failed to do on the PC several years ago. But you will always have other drivers to challenge as you cruise the Pacific-nestled paradise – minus the monthly fee. This is accomplished via what the developer calls, “Massively Open Online Racing.” In essence, everyone with an Xbox Live account is always online. Multiplayer races – marked with gold icons on your island-overview GPS map – are mixed in with offline challenges as you play.
How does this work in practice? In one of two ways: either you cruise up to a gold-tabbed multiplayer race and enter it, which drops you into a mini-lobby where you can hook up with seven other gamers and battle it out, or – and here’ the option that really excites us – you can do a one-on-one challenge.
As part of its ambitious multiplayer package, TDU keeps a constant eye on the nearest drivers with the best connection to you. When you pass each other on the windy two-lane Hawaiian roads, all you have to do is press A to challenge the other player. If he accepts, the challenge-ee gets to plot out your race on the overhead GPS map! Make it a simple straight-shot down the road or plan out a sightseeing Cannonball Run tour of the island: your choice. The loser even has the option of asking for a revenge race, in which case he can determine the race route.
We’re unanimously impressed by the scope of what TDU us attempting to pull off, even it it’s not truly “massively multiplayer.” Though a couple of things about the core game bothered us in our early online test drive (sorry), particularly the car handling, there’s time yet to get it tightened up for the game’s September release. Last one to the beach is a rotten egg!

If this is true, I will have to buy the X360 version.

Hm, so it will only be showing like 16 people on the island at the most whenever they are somewhat close to you? I was hoping for rooms with like 32 cars in each roaming the island.

I think more people are on the island servers?
