Thanks TH, happy to be apart of teamJDMT! Yeah was good fun, just wish I were abit more on ball lolCongrats Smoked, and was some fun drifting before![]()
GT6 All the way. Also you cant just move into a fully blown drift car. You have to build it up through the stages. So drift it stock or try. Then do part by part and try drifting. After that you'll learn to modulate understeer, oversteer, underpowered, and over powered. Whilst you do that you also learn to tune for the wheel. I suggest doing suspension as your first mod and play around with the tune of suspension so you can get it to hold the drift longer. The FC3S is probably the best car to start with, and do a track your most familiar with.
A common noob problem is that people don't stick with a platform until they learn to master drifting. After you have mastered it, thats when you move into other kinds of cars.
I have a E70 Brother!!!!
Give us an add JDM_Tuning_2JZN6Cheers SR, I'll give the FC a go. I decided to use my Supra with SH tyres and try a bit of grip racing and the back got out a few times and I managed to catch it. Also whilst using my S13 I tried that drill you showed me on Willow and managed to hold a few slides, I did spin out quite a few times though.
Even though the wheel is alot harder to start off with, I'm already enjoying it, I love actually having more control over the throttle and brakes. I'll try drifting Tsukuba and Sukuka *shudders*, because they were what I started with on GT5 with the DS3.

The RX-7 seems good stock, I can get some angle, I just lose it when the wheel snaps back. I may also use the tune SR posted in the Tuning Library soon too.
One tip is to never let off the throttle toward the exit of an corner. It will cause you to straighten up violently and spin the other way around.
I was at a gather up with JZX and some guy thought he'd put on abit of a show. This is what happened, btw this was a year ago. Also this is why you dont let of the throttle like that.
I've made it through one corner so far without spinning out or any snap back. All the rest I just lose. I can't seem to grab the wheel in time, well I do but I can't get it the other way in time to bring it out of the corner. Maybe I'm giving it too much lock, or simply not grabbing in time?
Not sure what you mean. Will have to see you in action first.
God damn I miss the GT community...Can't get online anymore because i'm now doing Tafe in Victoria, 10hrs away from home and the internet blocks PSN usage and rFactor multiplayer (staying on campus). After playing rFactor online for a month (before leaving for Vic) a can well and truly say the GT community is so much better than the rFactor community thanks to guys like you. Hopefully I can remember to bring my GT6 disc back home next time im on holidays and can get back online for a little while. Miss tandems with you guys and a lot of others from the GT community.
wer are u Tranzie.@Rascalogy <3
Also i'm hopping on now. So lets go get some shots for the O.P

Thanks Kevin, glad to be apart of the team!
Same. it snaps always for me too lolI've made it through one corner so far without spinning out or any snap back. All the rest I just lose. It will take you a while to get used to realizing when your car is going to do what...
What you're describing sounds like it could be fixed with a bit more throttle control, when you start to feel your car spinning use less throttle, when it feels like it's going to snap, give it some more throttle, it's not as simple as that, but it's the general concept behind it...
Good tip, coming from my own experience..
You might be in love with learning to drift on the wheel at the moment, but after a while, when you are in rooms and you see every body tandeming, resist the urge to switch to your DS3...
My advice is to avoid being around tandems at all, because the fact that you can't keep up and keep spinning gets frustrating after a while...
Although on the flipside, sometimes it is a good thing to be a chase driver in a tandem, being able to mimic good wheel users in their entries, angles and throttle control/speed will really help you progress... (When i first started learning properly, not that i really practice much, i was always following Tranz (ZN86) and it really helped)
You'll know what i'm talking about when you try it, by yourself you won't make it around a corner, but start chasing someone, and you will suddenly tandem better than you ever have before simply because you're focusing on copying them exactly..
I still switch between the two and i'm really not that great with a wheel and i've been using mine for 6+ months..

you reapeated this.
I kill you now or later?
I'll just put this here
Definitely some decent runs! But you've only seen the lower end of the tandem spectrum of JDMTLast night at Madrid had to be some of the best tandeming I've done on gt6, I really enjoyed it. Great runs when we weren't in the wall!
Hope to see some good photos and maybe a bit of footage![]()
