I dont know what is going on...
A guy was arrested for stealing a copy of a popular videogame?...
WAIT...That would be a good publicity!!

I hope he tells the police "It was totally worth the wait"

 Should have posted this before.

I can't decide whether this is fake or not. On the one hand its perfectly plausible but if so would you go around boasting about it?

I say plausible because have you ever wondered how pirates can often download new releases weeks before release? Pretty obvious these are leaked by someone who is involved in the production because how else would they obtain these new releases.

Personally I have no time for pirates of any kind whether this is films or video games. Why should these people get these for free when the likes of Sony/PD have put so much time, effort and money into it.

 No police are involved - don't blow this out of proportion, guys.

Figured. I'm bad at these sorts of things, but police can't legally force a website not to report unless under court-order (gag?). That, however, only happens during an actual court case. Am I right in saying this?

Like I said, I'm bad at these sorts of things. :)

Wouldn't the disc photo be covered by the PD embargo?

Only if the Embargo implied to the person who has the disc, which I am assuming as he has been very careless, no.

Hey Jordan, have you been in contact with the relevant authorities though, perhaps Sony Austrailia? Or SCEE?

Maybe it's real, maybe it's not.

Is it going to get us the game any quicker?

No :indiff:

Well, that doesn't really prove anything.

Sure, K.Y. said the disks are being stamped.... but what if all those disks are blank?! :)

Actual video showing him putting the disc in and showing us the whole starting game scenes and menu will prove it. Just like how that guy got a copy of COD:BO on youtube.... he was hilarious, though! 👍

Video or it never happened 👍

Actually, maybe. I think..it may put pressure to release it sooner than a date in mid December. GT5 currently has no release date, and being in the hands of a thief, could be placed on torrent sites withing less than a day. The hackers could try and get it to play by going through the files and deleting the update folder, and then try to boot it up with that workaround program they have. Remember, apparently Medal Of Honour booted from an EBOOT, played the intro etc ,but didnt start. In any case, if the hackers were the reason for the delay, it is sad an ironic if they find a way to play it before us. Those pirate scumbags..

I don't know about that one.

PS3 and bluray is difficult to hack and pirate 👍

I agree.

Give us a video. That will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the disc is genuine. There have been Youtube hoaxes in the past relating to GT5. Very convincing ones, too.

Yep...time for some hard evidence.Enough is Enough!!

Oh very!

COD Black Ops was up for download on the PS3 9 days ago!

Very very Hard!

I am with you on the Piracy issue, string 'em up by the balls:tdown:

I honestly dont think its about piracy here. I think Sony just realises that they need to give some info out soon.

Maybe they always were going to? This could all just be a coincidence (the pic and the race 2 days apart)
I'll find out when i wake up lol

Since Jordan already said it's not police/legal related, I'm betting we'll have a release date sometime today.

Also, the fact that a single game takes up about 45-50 gigs, deters me from even thinking of pirating a PS3 game. I don't want to have to wait for days on end just to download it, then buy a new PC with a BR burner and some expensive blank BR discs just to play a game.

You seem to know more than the rest of us do 👍.

I hope that's the case, but I am doubtful.

I'll believe it when I see it! :)

I think this could be legit, but... Where does it say Disc 1? or GT mode? Like every (nearly) other GT game

This says it has 3 discs (bottom right), and yet this has no number or reference point? Strange indeed...

P.S. Sorry for reposting this evidence again... but it's relevant (From April this year)

And I still don't have the foggiest as to why...

There is something wrong with the BCES-00569/ANZ. The thing is I am damn well sure that Australia has got it's own code.

The reason I say this is that the code is for the Europe Reigion 2 but Australia is a Reigion 1.

First letter: indicates the storage format. Can be either "B" for Blu-Ray or "S" for DVD.

Second letter: indicates if it is a first party game (Sony) or third party game (exclusive or not). Letter "C" for first party and letter "L" for third party.

Third letter: indicates the region. "A" = Asia, "J" = Japan, "U" = United States and "E" = Europe.

Fourth letter: indicates the type of content. "D" = Demo, "S" = Game."

I have seen this part many times (BCES-00569) but what this last part, is a new one on me ( /ANZ ).

I will try and find this out its has got to be somewhere.

Ctrl - F and type /ANZ in, it exists alright

PLEASE NOTE: I google'd this and hence I have no idea what this website is (that or dnas patching as the thread says) - if it is bad please remove the link, but it proves the existance of the /ANZ code

Yeah, but their idea is to keep hiding. Well, it's a good hobby for some, but I play it safe. I guess it ain't piracy until you get caught. Hahahah! Hackers are impressive though.... so determined and dedicated.

Besides, GT5 might come with a mandatory firmware update. Possibly. I am not saying it will.

The thing with hackers is some of them do it just to see if I can be done. The likes of Sony/MS attempt to stop these people but to them its just another challenge. This constant war between hackers and companies like Sony/MS will always continue.

I tell you one thing though whether this is fake or not im 99.9% sure someone will have GT5 way before release. I might dislike any form of piracy but those people who figure out how to hack systems such as the PS3 & 360 are very clever people. Im not saying I admire them for what they do but I do admire their intelligence.

All I hope is nobody posts the intro. The intros to all GT games is something I really look forward to. However if someone uploads the intro on youtube then I will find it hard to resist the temptation to watch it.

would ANZ not refer to australia, new zealand as an area then?

Australia/New Zealand.

I agree with you.

Yeah, I am easily tempted and I spoil myself. Can't resist temptations. It's so bad that it's so good! :)

Someone in the news comments said that BCES code is from Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony on PSP and they have changed the 'U' to a 'B'. However it just could be a coincidence that GT5 has the same number code.

With regards to the disk I'm unsure as to why its so matt in finish. Usually disks are a mixture of matt and gloss (because they are printing with ink that's more like paint!). Having said that some Blu Ray movie releases have been totally matt and sometimes look fake even though they are real!

I would say its hard to tell but for some reason I wouldn't believe they would put a Rays wheel on the art. Why not an SLS wheel?

Robin.
