That's because he set the limit to 8 folks I couldnt enter as well :grumpy:

Oh well I was busy working on my Dallara paint so could only practice for a little

That's odd that there was some type of restriction. I set it to 42 cars or whatever the max was. Apologies if something was whacked. I've hosted lots of sessions without any troubles. :( :(

Ok - I just put up two more sessions for tomorrow. Both are 2 hours, one starts at 1800h EDT US and the other starts at 1830h EDT US. Have fun!!

The session was fun! I managed to get 57 laps down. We had a bit of a chat when you were gone and were talking about pete zehler. I can hit consistent low 1:34's, tomorrow I will try to nail 1:33's and then 1:32's. I know what corner I am slow in (first and 2nd corner) so it should just be me trying out different techniques until I find one that will save the most time.

Derek start one at 1800 and the other at 2200, I got school and I don't come home until 3pm cst

Couple questions Jav:

What time will race sessions start? Didn't see a time in first few posts of thread. Sorry in advance if I'm blind and overlooked this.:)

Also, are the quali sessions going to be single car runs or everyone on track?

Thanks I will try to make this one tonight. Might be filled up by the time I can get on though (After 9pm Central) :nervous:

Goodness knows I need to practice more. I think last time I drove the Caddy I was pulling 1.35s. I'm going to get smoked if I don't get my act together :scared:

Thank you Derek, that was a lot of fun. It was nice chatting with you and some of the other members. I didn't get any great times but was about my average.

Don't know what happened as far as any entry restrictions as it did get rather full after a while.

I tried joining too but it was weird. The session said that the max pit was 42 and that there were only 9 drivers out of 42 connected, but the little "join" button wasn't there, instead it said the session was full.

Maybe you accidentally put some of those new filters added this season?

So what kind of times are people running at Okayama? The fastest time in the yesterdays practice session was 1:29.4 or somewhere around that.

I haven't tried any more okayama since the day the caddy came out. I'm sure there are better setups out there now. I've seen a few more posted I would like to try. I plan on hosting a practice session sometime before our first race.

29s is fast, mid to low 30s is pretty good, anything under 29s is alien!

We're looking at opening the server at 20 GMT for 1hr practice, 15 minutes of quali and go to grid at 21:15.

I'm still in the 1:30's! I'm screwing up the 2nd to last corner and the 1st corner.

Cool. My average lap is in the low 30's. Rarely do I break into the 29's at this point.

Has anyone tried the Mosport setup from the official series? If so, what are your thoughts on it compared to this one:

11th post okayama.wip tune. It's very stable, I like it a lot more then jav's tune.

I'm finding the Mosport fixed-setup has a less understeer, so I'm sawing at the wheel a lot less during turn-in. The rear feels planted in the corner exit as well. Ripping the Cadi at this track with this setups is the most fun I've had with the car so far.

I did a quali session earlier and I totally hate the setup, the car feels so loose! I honestly don't like it at all! Did just 1 lap and got out! Too loose and unstable for my taste... On my setup I can do 19.1s all day long with a lot of confidence, with the fixed setup I did a 20.8 and it felt like the car wanted to kill me every turn!

Well, hopefully I somewhat like iRacing's fixed sets. iRacing better not have ruined an awesome car with their half arsed setups. Otherwise I'll be looking for some leagues to race it in along with this one.

I'm really starting to hate the setup myself. I haven't completed a race without hitting walls at least twice. The leaders average laps were around 1'21 and I have no problem doing that, but the setup isn't always predictable. Who would've thought a car that bottoms out on every braking zone and most turns wouldn't be predictable!?

Edit: My last replay in a test session shows the inside front wheel coming up after locking the outside wheel trailbraking. Full soft rear sway bar and nearly full stiff front sway bar = garbage setup, trying to make it understeer so Rookies might have a chance of completing a lap I guess.

Ok just to double check for the league times, 20 GMT is 4 pm eastern time correct? So the league races will be on Sunday's at 4:00 pm for us east coast guys? Just want to make sure.

Yeah I agree this baseline setup that have for it now isn't all that great. I'm right much slower at Mosport so far. Just seems unpredictable like you guys said. I feel I can only really drive at about 85-90% so I can leave a little cushion room in case it wants to break loose. I've got a 19.8 for my qualifying time right now, but I know I can take some more time off with more practice with the setup.

I've had a pretty good time racing the caddy so far tonight. The time of the races works out great for me because I can do a caddy race then have about 10-15 mins to get into a late model race. I just hate those nights when I would be on iracing for 4 hours and only get in 2 races.

I know it's the first day of the new season and literally the first few official caddy races, but both races I've done have been clean races. The participation is pretty good as well, but like I said it's the first week so I hope it continues. I don't know if they meant to cut the fuel short or not, but I like how you have to do a quick pit stop. I qualified 2nd for my first race. I got a killer start and was about a fender or so in front of first place going into turn 1. He had the inside line though so I had to back out some causing another guy to follow him and put me in 3rd. I screwed up in the first race and put in 6 gallons so my pit stop was about 8 seconds or so and the car didn't feel to great after with all the extra fuel and I got a 4th place got passed with 2 laps to go so almost 3rd. It would have been a 2nd most likely had I not lost all that time in the pits.

The second race I did I only went with 2 gallons so my pit stop was just over 3 seconds. I only qualified 6th for this race because it was a 2500 sof instead of the 1800 sof earlier. Another pretty good start and through the first corners clean. I brought home a 5th place in the second race, but scored right many more points because of the sof. I know it's the first day and it's a loooong way to go, but I think I got off to a good start at least. Right now sitting 2nd overall in div. 3 points and have the fastest div. 3 qualifying time as well. Also was able to gain 120 irating in those 2 races too.

Eric, I was in that race with you tonight. I know you were right there behind me for a few laps then I didn't see you in my relative anymore. Did you get crashed out?

I've crashed in both of the CTSVR races I did last night. Never retired though, just spent half the race on pitlane.

Tried practicing last night for bout 10 laps+. Got it down into the high 1.34s. I hate that I'm such a slow poke. So anyway if any other slow dudes want to race don't worry you will have company :dopey:

Normally I like to invest at least 100 laps or so before racing. But I just dont think I can committ that sort of time with my Oval career, etc going on this week too. Much easier to crank out 100 laps on a short Oval to prepare for a race and be upfront. But for Road it takes an insane amount of time for me to prepare for a new car or new track

I absolutely hate the baseline setup as well. It's so unruly and unstable under braking.

For anyone having issues with the braking oversteer and exit oversteer, I recommend to crank the diff preload to max, ramp angles to max and plates to 4 (max). Use about 2-4 ARB on the front, 0 on the back. Run your rear bumpstop up to 15, and put about 12 on the front rebound. Put 20 psi in the tires on all four corners. Set the brake bias to 63 or more if needed.

From there you can loosen the car as you like, but that will pretty much make it as tight as it will get (more or less).

This is not a forgiving car. I'm sure they will improve the beast over time. My car of choice is the ARX and it was simply horrible when it came out. Now it's great.

Have we decided on what setup we are using so we can practice? We decided everyone is using the same one right?
