Wich should be the track for the last race?

We will run open setups, on my part I will share every setup I have and I'm sure many of the other guys will do the same!

Thank's for the tips Derek! I'll definitely play arround with those adjustments!

For anyone having issues with the braking oversteer and exit oversteer, I recommend to crank the diff preload to max, ramp angles to max and plates to 4 (max). Use about 2-4 ARB on the front, 0 on the back. Run your rear bumpstop up to 15, and put about 12 on the front rebound. Put 20 psi in the tires on all four corners. Set the brake bias to 63 or more if needed.

From there you can loosen the car as you like, but that will pretty much make it as tight as it will get (more or less).

This is not a forgiving car. I'm sure they will improve the beast over time. My car of choice is the ARX and it was simply horrible when it came out. Now it's great.

d

I tried this and my two problems are that the bumpstops stop @ 4.xxx not 15, so I guessed it was a typo and I lowered it to 1.5, and My ride height is to low in the front and I can't figure out how to raise it.

Also what does the number of clutch plates do to handling?

How about making it a requirement that everyone shares their setup? Just an idea.

@Roush Fan 99 - my error. Apologies. Set the rear "bump damper" to 15 clicks. :)

EDIT - oops - I messed up again. Low bump on the back. High bump on the front...duh!! Apologies for being a bit scatterbrained.

I practiced a bit in the Caddy last night at Mosport in that rookie series. I need to check my lap data but I suspect my braking is right there where it should be maybe... But the issue is if I brake any later in this thing I'm going off track :grumpy:

Car is very inflexible when it comes to braking points. you gotta be on the money or its possibly lights out. Other cars, like the Star Mazda, can be a little more forgiving. You can brake later but just lose seconds I think

Really FUN car. I mean super fun. It's like one of my favorites along with the Star. At mosport I got it down to a 1.22 but during a Qualify session I could hit a 1.23 and I had 3 incidents which tells me I need more work before trying to race

You know, I think Mosport is a much better track than Okayama for this car. The rookies that insisted we go with free tracks better show up lol.

I think the cts-vr is one of the best cars in the game. Very fun to drive even though it can be a pain in the ass. Thanks Cadillac! :D

We should have a variety of setups though. One which focuses on understeer, oversteer and/or both if you like that type of thing :-\

Just a thought .. because I'm **** at tuning :(

There are enough good set ups out there now I don't think it matters what we run. What's good for me might be terrible for you. It took some time before I found a few I like. Tweaked them until I was happy.

Hey guys! I'm setting up a hosted fun session at Watkins in a few minutes! Jump right in!

Why can I only watch or test Jav's hosted session? Is it because we are not friends?

You tried to join when Jav's session moved onto the race, that's why you couldn't register.

Speaking of said race... Guess who won? *Does victory dance*

Qualified third, I watched the entire grid wreck on my rearview mirror.

Jav was first, crashed a couple of times and I won! I only won 'cause he screwed up, he was clearly faster.

In the end it was just me, Jav and Paul Maguire. :p

Thanks to Jav for hosting, it was really fun.

I see. Thanks.
I don't like the sound of that. :scared:

Going 20+ laps without crashing while pushing hard is pretty damn tricky, for me anyway.

Wish I could have joined you guys in this series, the times just conflict with my time zone and work schedule though. I'm really enjoying the Cadillac. Best of luck to everyone in this series!

Sorry I missed it Jav. I was running time trials in the HPD-ARX at Watkins then.
Wow, what a car. Never ran this car much before, I think I may have found a new favorite. I'm still faster around there in the Dalara though, but the HPD corners like it's on rails. :)

Hope to make the next one.

No kidding, man. There were 17 cars in the grid, only 3 finished the race. The problem with these races is that when people see crashes ahead of them they don't brake or drive cautiously, they just hope they'll be able to sweep through the whole thing unscathed, it's crazy.

I was in 5th when 4th and 3rd crashed on the high speed turns after the first corner... I braked hard, avoided them and then watched on my mirror how the rest of the grid crashed against them. Literally no one got through.

Yeah that pile up was crazy and that's why you always want to quali well and get a good start at Watkins, whenever there's a crash on the esses there's carnage!
Was a lot of fun guys, unfourtunately I caught the grass going into the last turn wich turned me arround and lightly tapped the wall wich was enought to have to pit... From there on was pushing like hell wich led to a spin and another off into the tires acompanied to a trip to the pits...
All in all it was a lot of fun! Look for more of this fun sessions before the season starts guys!

Hope I can make one of these pre-league races. Been away this past week so not had much chance to practice!

Really need to get used to this car, otherwise I'll be spending most of the time in the pits instead of racing.

:gtpflag:

Just got my first win in the official Cadi series. I really wasn't expecting to win that race. Started in fifth with the pole sitter qualifying almost a second faster than me. Three cars off track and one pass later, I was in the lead and held it until then end.

I still don't feel great in this car, but I'm improving a bit.

Nice job on the win.

I suck real bad, I ended up in the pits on lap 1 and never made it out because I kept getting the unsafe exit!!! AHHHHH!:grumpy: and -.13 SR

I would check out the GlacierTV.com guys for broadcasting/commentary. They do an awesome job covering our league.

Edit: How much does it suck to blow up your Skippy with 3 turns to go when in third place? :grumpy:

Very much... Did you do that?
I did that too in the street stock after a wreck I left the pits and I was in 2nd gear and about 2000 rpm from the shift light and it blew up out of nowhere but thankfully I wasn't on the lead lap and there was just 2 laps to go
