Has anyone played Melty Blood? The PS2 game for Tsukihime. I have noticed that alot of people are joining with anime character names.... which is good or bad.

a bunch of people on smashboards love that game.. I myself have never heard or played the game before....meaning I know nothing of it aside from its name

I just finished Inuyasha: Final Act not too long ago... got into a discussion with a friend about how the end didn't make logical sense. Would anyone care to debate with me about it?

I was only able to detect Rie Kugimiya's voice for sure. Is the 3rd dude voiced by Ayako Kawasumi?

Durrr is it Lucky Star?

Nuuuuuuuuu, Why did Hyakka Ryouran have to end that way?! It was too abrupt!

Fortune Arterial had one weaksauce ending...
Fortune Arterial is an awful anime... despite having a conflict to solve, it was solved effortlessly and suddenly... and the body of the show carried little value or significance to the story... the first encounter of a vampire kept me watching as i though he would be attacking more people, but that never happened after that...an anime that doesn't go anywhere....

Need to start watching Ore No Imouto someday... Argh, Kirino is so moe!!! >_<
Any of you guys watched this yet? Its really interesting from the reviews that I read. :)

Rented the compete series of Corpse Princess to watch over Christmas. So far, it's pretty could, although, I keep expecting to see one of the Corpse Hunters in just her panties or something, but so far, it hasn't happened. Next I'll check out Birdy the Mighty Decoded.

Dunno why, but the name Melty Blood cracks me up. Never played it but I started watching Tsukihime the other day.

I'm in the process of ripping my anime to my external hard drive for the sake of convenience and protecting my investment. So far it's going well, I'm at approximately 20% completion after sporadic ripping over the last couple months. Some things in my collection are harder to rip, such as certain Disney DVDs and of course my Blu-rays. I may try to rip them in the future but for now I'm writing them off as unrippable, and just going with what's easy.

Here's what I've completed: 5 Centimeters Per Second, Baldr Force EXE, Blue Submarine No. 6, Cowboy Bebop, Cowboy Bebop The Movie, Elfen Lied, Fooly Cooly, Ghost Hound, Ghost In The Shell, Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence, Grave of the Fireflies, Howl's Moving Castle, Kamichu, Kino's Journey, Tsukihime: Lunar Legend, The Castle of Cagliostro, My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Neon Genesis Evangelion, End of Evangelion, Only Yesterday, Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue, Please Teacher, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, RahXephon, Serial Experiments Lain, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, The Place Promised In Our Early Days, Toward The Terra, Voices of a Distant Star.

Yeah, that's 20%. :p

But the percentage is calculated based on the number of discs i've ripped and not how many titles I've ripped. And naturally, I ripped things with lower disc counts first.

Have fun with that

Seikon no Qwaser is one of the more interesting animes I've seen so far...Lead bullets chip a Qwaser of Titanium's sword, but the Qwaser of Iron's shield absorbs them all, and the Qwaser of Sodium can basically esssentially manipulate and destroy the human body...this show is so educational in a way

I'm also watching Claymore which is just as awesome...I love the OP theme...

Claymore was fun and the music just mad it better.

Corpse Princess was alright. In the end, it had a cheesy theme, and you have to wait until the second season to see anything close to nudity. But it was still pretty good.

Just watched Awakening of the Trailblazer earlier this morning. Every opening release (Sept. 18th) review that I've read from those who saw it in Japan were either A. Expecting it to be non-stop action throughout the entire movie (which any of the several MSG OVA's, or even the TV series' themselves will prove otherwise), or B. Couldn't follow the storyline at all.

I watched the raw version as a subbed version probably won't be ready for a few more days if not a week or two, but despite not understanding much of the movie at all (I know bits and pieces of Japanese) I could follow the story arc just fine with the suggestive actions going on in within the movie. Ribbons has a short cameo as an ELS, and he's a creepy son-of-a-somebody. Seems to be welcoming those he encountered with 'open arms' and seems to fancy palming people's faces. There's politics, moments of clarity, confessed love interests, Billy has a new girlfriend (that I just don't understand, him and Sumeragi confessed love to one another at the end of S2), Louise is still in the hospital (yes, it's been 2 years and she's still in the hospital...the Tau particles must do more damage than we were led to believe), and it becomes clearer and even more clear why Setsuna is an Innovator, but I won't spoil too much, most of these details are subtle and you really have to be paying attention to catch on. Once the subbed version is available for streaming, I'll understand the movie that much more.

Now, while I'd like to give this movie a 4 or even a straight 5...I cannot.

Why?

The ELS arc is good, mostly because it's entirely new to the franchise. I had high expectations of the ELS story arc, or "The Dialogues to Come" as the first thing that sprung to mind was the Zentradi and I thought to myself "Okay, this can be really awesome or really, really weird." To my surprise it was neither, it was just good enough that is passable (and perhaps even acceptable) but it should have been flushed out more as there was immense potential there but because it's a movie...it feels a bit like F91 - too much is crammed into such a short running time that it feels like seventeen things are happening at once, and you don't get nearly as much information on anything as you would from an all out TV series. Although in F91's defense it's original plan of being a full-on series were canceled and everything that was written up had to be crammed into a feature film, most of the defining moments were actually cut from the film....but I digress. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone whose interested in Gundam, or anyone who loved Gundam 00 as much as I did but if you've never seen anything Gundam-related, then by all means, stay away from Trailblazer. It will definitely give you the impression that the entirety of the franchise is as rushed as Trailblazer feels. One more thing: Kenji Kawai is the effin' man, the soundtrack was awesome on all fronts.

Oh, and Andrei dies. YES!

Blade of the Immortal was interesting though I thought it was short...and went by too fast.

So, after not having any time to watch eps 25 and 26 of With Hunter Robin -which I borrowed from a friend, highly recommended- for a darned week after I watched 24, I was finally able to do so.

Man, what a LAME ending. In fact the entoire series was pretty damn meh. The concept had a lot of potential but it was pretty unspectacular. Now off to... I don't know. Recomendations? But really, it has to be AWESOME. I'm very nitpicky when it comes to anime... I guess I'm getting freaking old.

You may have seen some of these, but off the top of my head: (nothing at all h)

Baccano! - good pace, lots of interesting characters, great period style music (american 30's?) LOVE the OP
Welcome to the NHK - offbeat and frequently very funny slice of life looking into the NEET/Hikikomori phenomenon
Ergo Proxy - good mix of complex story and action, high production value
Mushi-shi - episodic, sometimes slow, but ultimately sublime
BECK/Mongolian Chop Squad - band theme, pretty solid if you're at all interested in the genre
Gokusen - funny slice of life yakuza heiress turned high school teacher, short series
Wolf's Rain - feels dated, music decidedly rockish, but great original story and moving characters
Blood+ - just my opinion maybe but great story and characters, vampire/military theme, long story arc

let me know if you think you'll try any of these out/have already seen them and what you think

That is really lacking compared to its Manga movie "Blood: The Last Vampire"

Blood+ was one of the first longer series I watched when I got on my modern anime kick a few years ago, so maybe i was just easily impressed but it has retained a soft spot in my heart (not to sound like a wuss but any anime that can get me to tear up when I'm not drunk gets big bonus points in my book, and there were several episodes where I was practically bawling.)

Oddly, didn't find the movie that impressive. Might just be a case of which i saw first. I'm not a huge fan of anime movies because they just seem so hurried to me after watching so many long series now (Rouroni Kenshin was an epic several hundred episodes, and though it took forever to watch, I preferred it to Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal)

From what I heard. That three part movie has not impressed Watsuki-san. I am a fan of OVA movies because its a different realm of the series. One of the longest series I have seen were Monster, DBZ, and NGE.

Wolf's Rain's music is rockish? I don't quite understand what that means or why it's a bad thing. Wolf's Rain is one of my favorite soundtrack.

As for my recommendations:

Fruits Basket was alright if only for the comedy, but it might be a little too crazy for you.

Claymore was awesome, Ghost in the Shell is still a great series and it's a little creepy 'cause a lot of the technology they show and talk about is slowly becoming reality and the Matrix was inspired by it. Mezzo was fun. The series is a better than the movie, in my opinion. So far, those are the best along with Wolf's Rain.

Also, Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star are good series, as well.

I watched Outlaw Star earlier this year. Yeah, Gene's a pervert, but Aisha's a slut, so, it all works out.

Hah!

Hot Springs Planet Tenrei - Best. Episode. Ever. :D

Every time I see somehow talking about Outlaw Star (or, if I'm talking about it) it just brings up a wealth of nostalgia....a fantastic anime that is, and why wouldn't it be? Sunrise had a hand in it.

mmmhhh... american 30s music in Baccano? You got me intrested. Gonna try the OST, if I like it I'll most surely try the series, it has worked like that before with me, that is how I paid attention to Wolfsrain.

I had completely forgotten of Ergo Proxi, thanks for the reminder. Also, I dont have the slightest idea of what is Welcome to the NHK or Mushi-shi, gonna look that out.

Sadly, I started watching Beck because, again, the amazing soundtrack got me intrested in it but sadly the damn thing could not keep my attention for more than fire or six eps and I dropped it. Might give it another try, but dunno...

And I'm with NK4E in the Blood thing, the movie was awesome, saw it when it came out years ago. And dude, of course Lupin rules.

On the Outlaw Star thing, I remember haring about it a long time ago, that it was good and stuff. Let's see.

Well, thanks, I'll look into the intresting series and see what comes out of it. I'll report (:

EDIT: Deffinitely gonna check Baccano out. Thanks for that.

Marvel has manga?

When....did this....happen?
For while, I think that they came out with a Wolverine and Iron Man books
Iron Man has turned into a Anime, same with Wolverine. I think someone posted a video on one of these pages.

I don't like American anime or cartoons, but I do like JP anime movies,I just bought the BR of Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushi-tsu(as my final anime related purchase here),I know that there is online versions of it but the BR is in full HD with some extras which is pretty cool, and I can say that is the best anime movie I ever seen,Evangelion rebuild has become RedBull visual and there is very little room for other novels/animes to get a high budged movie.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushi-tsu is really good, and very close to be the best anime movie that I ever seen, the reason for this is that I been following Haruhi Suzumiya novels/anime,and the feel of "change"(to avoid spoilers)of certain character really shocks the viewer,I was actually drag by the film,is really involving(if you have follow at least the anime).

If I have to recommend some anime for this incoming months I will say Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushi-tsu,is really good, maybe when you guys watch is we can have a nice discussion about it because is really good(sorry for the haruhi-ism,and sorry for the -tsu stuff Vbulletin took it as I'm post a dirty word, the one that starts with s and finish with t and is not sat).

Hey, anime stunner of the year for being good in 2010... Otome Youkai Zakuro. A very excellent anime for the romantic fan and the battle fan with a little comedy and fantasy mixed in. :D --- Randy
