I just realized that Corpse Princess is a Zombie series with zombies fighting zombies...granted, they're hot zombie chick fighting ugly demonic zombies, but still...they're all undead.

I'm still currently watching Bleach, on around episode 223, can't wait for the big fight.

Although I love Bleach, it doesn't have **** on DN!

I might also get into Clannad and Fairytail soon, friends say there both really good.

Things don't have to make sense to be awesome.

That's true. lol.

In other news, I watched Eden of the East. I'm not entirely sure what exactly to make of it. I think it was a little short to really say it was cool or not. The art and animation were done by the same studio that did Ghost in the Shell.

Hi kaspa. As I've said before Clannad is brilliant :P

Hagshi no Eden was genious.

Has anyone noticed that EVERY anime that has a school in it takes place at the SAME EXACT school? Actually, I think there are 3 different schools used in anime series and you can tell the difference by the uniforms. But, they all look the same. It's weird.

Good observation. But how many schools have you seen aside from your own in Washington? I'd assume most animes take place in Tokyo, but even if not, Japan has a fairly uniform climate, and I'd also guess than most schools were built post WWII, say in the 50's, so it's not really so surprising that most animes feature similar looking schools in my opinion. They actually look a lot like schools you'd see in southern California or Florida...

Just finished Kampfer, I was hoping to see more of the whole Kampfer Fighting thing unfold more as i could see a good potential in the story, but it feels like it just opened to the first few pages and then filled the rest with fanservice. That always seems to be the case with male characters getting all hung up with several women...

Clannad is actually pretty good. I'm only on the second episode right now, but, it's still impressive. The animation is pretty good and the voice dubbing is excellent. And there are some pretty funny moments.

No one has any tact whatsoever. It's hilarious. A world where everyone says exactly what's on their mind regardless of the consequences.

Invention of lying

The only anime I have seen is Initial D and Wangan Midnight, not sure if I would like anything else.

If you like regular movies or TV shows, then there should be some anime you like. It's pretty mainstream in Japan, so there's a lot of diversity.

I'd recommend trying a few movies first to see what genres you might like, since series are more of an investment. Miyazaki's Spirited Away or Nausicaa, maybe Ghost in the Shell, or Paprika. Anybody else with some starter recommendations for this guy?

Then again, some people just have an aversion to anime in general, like some people just won't like any country music. I'm that way with bishoju. Can't stand any anime with eyes done like that. But whatever. There's something for everyone in anime.

Maybe let us know a couple movies or TV shows you like and we can suggest something similar.

Just off the top of my head, Initial D and Wangan both have modern real world settings with a lot of characters with pretty normal relationships. On that basis I'd say try Great Teacher Onizuka or Gokusen. Look them up at www.animenewsnetwork.com, and maybe spend some time there browsing the top 100 in the anime encyclopedia to see if anything catches your interest.

Comic Party seems to have that modern relationships.
Edit: Looking at the Top 100, Monster is number 16.

Cowboy Bebop would be a good starter series, as well.

The pronunciation of Dango sounds awfully close to cake in chinese.

I already like Fyou, She sends dictionaries flying like kunai's, that's badass.

"Hey everybody Fyou in Class B is a Bi!" I totally didn't see this coming

nk4e, in Clannad's 2nd epi:

Tomoyo does Chun Li's 3rd Super on a random brat and sends him into a garbage chute lol

You guys mainly watch dubbed shows?

subs all the way. dub voice acting totally sucks. in Japan voice actors (seiyu) are as famous as our biggest tv stars here, and so it attracts serious talent that American voice acting just doesn't have. Even though I only understand a little of the Japanese language, I still fully appreciate the quality of the voice acting.

You sure bet your butt I don't ;) The characters are usually of Japanese descent, so naturally the voice actors at least "sounding" Japanese is much more fitting to me...

I decided to not watch english dub after accidentally hitting play on the 4th episode of devil may cry... it's totally different...

Not only that, I really like how Japanese people pronounce words in english... it's not pronounced well but strangely enough, it sounds kind of pleasing to my ears...

Japanese Dante: "Oh about that secret to running a successful bar...........

make sure you carry Strawberry Sundaes"

nk43, correction: 3rd STRIKE super.. and the combo count is like, 50 times bigger
:sly:

I don't watch Dubbed Ep's at times because the voice actors sound very horrid. Take Initial D for instance or Neon Genesis Evangelion

Trico, I wonder which super because she has three of them.

Yeah, I can't get away with dubbed shows at all. I've watched DN dubbed on my first watch and did enjoy it to be honest, although I started watching Bleach dub straight after and just couldn't. I cringed at almost every word that didn't come out of JYB's mouth, and ever since i've only watched subbed shows. Suppose once you start watching subbed though you become to appreciate it.

For me dubbing can ruin the best of shows.

I laughed so hard at that. Especially because was worse that if he had told everyone she had a bike. And then he told his "girlfriend" that the blonde guy was gay. Tomo really IS a delinquent. But it makes it funny 'cause everyone else he hangs out with isn't.
