Unfortunately that's how most anime adaptations are. They're interested in quickly boosting sales of the source material, and moving onto the next series to advertise. Oh so many series that are forever incomplete or will never receive an anime adaptation.

As Arkada from Glass Reflection says , which I totally agree with, "THE ENDING IS PARAMOUNT"

Another reason why I liked Kill la Kill very much, it ENDED and it ENDED nicely. It didn't just stop and say "Nah son, you're gonna read the manga now" . Future Diary ended but that ending was well..... you know..... poop, from a satisfying perspective.

Oh well, money talks unfortunately, onto other series now 👍

To be honest... This was my parents' reaction when I introduced them to High School DxD. They didn't go "Aw heck no, man, that's really perverted!", oh no, they went more in the lines of this:

Makes me wonder what those chaps will have planned for Season 3, how extreme can you get :sick:? Which reminds me, when Witchblade used to air on TV when Animax was still alive in South Africa, I found it funny how my dear Mum was comfortable with me seeing such on TV :lol: Think I was 16 at the time...

Another show I just remembered; Air Gear, that was actually a really good show however the ending was meh but most of all, the fanservice put people off. Such a shame because that show was really fun and deserves a little more recognition.

Also, it let me listen to one of my favourite chill tracks :cool:

Let's leave what levels of ecchi DxD's third season is going to approach to our imagination... With the arrival of our local femme-fatale Kuroka in this season, we really aren't prepared for the impending ecchi storm. Oh, and, I'm 16, too.

P.S.: Regarding Witchblade... Masane shares the same voice actor with Rias Gremory. :3

The latter half got crappy, but the roller skating community getting ranks and all was cool. They could've went with that and moved into grand tournaments instead of moving into the "mafia turf" of Air Treks.

That's the same thing I thought as soon as I read the title, but mind you, we both loved Chuunibyou, right? :p

I personally think it's worth the watch. It is a tad slow at the start but as it proceeds onwards it gets very interesting.

It's R17, by the way, so it's not really a younger audience anime. :p

Just because something is R17 due to blood or language doesn't mean it's not aimed squarely at a young adult audience. See Akame Ga Kill and Tokyo Ghoul's adaptations.

That's also the case for Highschool of the Dead: whilst the blood, gore and morbid realism make it look like a seinen, it's actually a shonen - or at least marketed as such.

It's weird, rewatching FLCL and seeing how realistic and how tragic it is.

It's actually been a year almost to the day since I last watched it. Life is funny. I watched it four times in six months in late 2013/early 2014.
 
I saw an episode of it in the early 00's but didn't remember anything about it because I was a dumb child at the time. I did remember the awesome credit sequence though.

I saw it in full for the first time about a year ago. Felt strangely nostalgic despite not knowing anything about it.
 
Started watching Asobi ni Iku Yo!
Uck. It's terrible in premise but the animations alright and I like the character design. We'll see how the execution is.
 
If K-ON was a horror movie (don't look at it if you can't stand looking at a 2D knife for a split second):



The minimal use of external images was something I found pretty creative, but other than that, amusing youtube poop.

Probably not gonna say much this time around. Wished I kept track of my previous ones though...

The Martians have actually started to collaborate, instead of sending only one guy to fight. Now something to look forward to next time around.
Another thing to note is that Asseylum remembers hanging out with a boy back on Earth looking at birds. This is just one step for Asseylum to remember everything. Know what that means? Catastrophe for everybody. Asseylum waking up and he remembering everything will push this show to a very nice point, something S2 pretty much needs right now. I wonder how she'll react to the current state of affairs (the marriage proclamation)?

Higurashi in general is bad.

The animation is awful, the art style is awful, and the voice acting, both JPN and ENG are awful.

I would only watch it if you enjoy visually graphic violence and/or enjoy figuring out a mystery.

The first season is told through multiple story lines, but they all take place on the same timeline. You'd feel lost and confused if you don't pick this up quick enough. The second season will slowly reveal the meaning of the multiple timelines. The OVAs can be skipped for the most part as it's all fanservice.

I've watched all 3 seasons just because I've got an interest in exploring what kind of visuals I can and can't stand to watch. Whenever gore and crazy characters are involved, I give it go just to see how creative writers get with murders and torture.

Kyoukai no Kanata was a big blah show. If you like the cute drawing style KyoAni is famous for, and eye-candy is all you want, go for it. If you want a story with a good resolve, I'd pass.

The synopsis regarding the boundary thing was kind of cool, but I don't think anything regarding it was brought up until the 3rd last episode (typical trend of shows not thoroughly thought out in my experience). Most of it was spent on the male lead developing a relationship with the female lead (also a typical trend of shows that aren't amazing).



Try exploring outside of what's popular. Have you seen Perfect Blue or Voices of a Distant Star?

Or the bit where Naota asks Haruko why she's batting for the other team when she doesn't even live there, and she responds by saying that it's a "part time job", and all of the other team's players are stereotypically camp looking men.

That show's writing is just something else. The way it deals with so many themes and hits them all on the head while maintaining its surreal aesthetic. Yeah.
























*It's about the media, sexualisation, celebrity, and as always with FLCL, puberty and coming of age, or sometimes the lack of it, if you didn't guess.

I haven't checked those ones out but I think I've heard of Voices of A Distant Star in the past. How are they?

I'm interested in Higurashi because of 1. The mystery, storytelling and pacing. 2. Of how can what appears to be such a cutesy cutesy show be sooooooo... Graphic if you will?

I saw what you did there, lol

A mate told me to watch FLCL sometime back but that was when I was still in hiatus with anime. I saw some reviews recently and I'm pretty curious.

The Garden of Sinners is something I definitely have to watch.
