I attempted a lot of things, but I couldn't get it better than this (it's like it only uses web-save colors or so...)

I tried to shoot the part where the AI doesn't get all kamikaze going back on track

WOW!!!!!!

The cars didn't crumple up a whole lot from what I could see, but nevertheless, that crash looked intense

I don't give two hoots about damage if we can have those spinning out/collision physics. The epic tyre smoke only sweetens the deal. Great gif!

I open the .mov files in Adobe ImageReady, mark the scene I want, delete frames that don't fit and resize.

Nice smoke effects and all, but why does the smoke go through the barrier?

Because collision physics for particle effects aren't that easy to implement.

Collision physics are 'easy' to implement, but it just costs tons of CPU time.

Can someone make avatar about this?

I can't make it any longer than 100px wide so this is the largest I can make it.

EDIT: Oops in it's current file size you won't be able to use it here. I can reduce the size down to 20KB but the quality will lack quite a bit(look at mine; it's a corvette stingray).

The smart AI watching out for cars before entering the track got me horny.

I was playing GT5P yesterday and an F40 was in 2nd place after me. It was a 6 lap race so by the end of the race I caught up to lapped traffic and I passed an F40 again. I wondered what happen to it as it was the only F40 in the race. I watched the replay an saw that it got pushed off the track by another car. It sat on the edge of the track untill all the cars went past. Making attempts to rejoin but having to stop each time a car came near. I thought that was quite good for GT5P.

Like I said in some overflooded other threat, I really like the shadows being cast on the tyre smoke.
(I know games like Motorstorm do it for a long time already, it's still nice )

Edit: After looking a bit better, volumetric shadows are visible in all the three first gifs.
