Oh for heavens sakes you should know what I mean people just keep complaining and are so ungrateful and no, a poor attitude does not help and actually we do help to make the product cos polyphony digital has been listening to its fanbases ideas and are putting them into the game, and what is so wrong about being positive anyway????
You and I Stewie live in an area that generally respects people and their choices. We can accept more readily than a lot of folks who live in a more demanding environment, possibly because they don't know any differently.

I'm not going to go into the whole rationale of why a number of people here feel it's okay to challenge so aggressively, as I've said it all here before. That's up to them I suppose and I doubt anything I point out will affect that outcome.

There is nothing wrong with being positive. The thing is people here are complaining about the long requested things that Kaz hasn't listened to us on or not got around to implementing yet. Some of these things have been on peoples wish lists for years. For long term fans of the series we have come to expect disappointments. If I actually put money on the things I've said "I bet x wont make it into the next game" I'd be diving into money like Scrooge McDuck.
True, some of those things have been mooted for discussion and despite some of them now having acceptance from PD the complaints still go on and often in a way that is far from positive by people who don't seem to understand the fundamentals of how a game is made. Okay, I don't know how to make a game myself, but I do know it's not waving a magic wand. I think it's that kind of approach that's the key to differentiating between discussion or wishes and whining.

Yes, but kaz could instead showcase the greatest racing sim ever, and people would still argue that it IS ####.
Yes, without any doubt. But that subjectivity in a nutshell.

Being positive is better than crying over a lack of Decent modelling and engine sounds on OVER 1200 CARS.
This is what I don't get. This obsession with numbers. Quantity does not equal quality nor fun. And with GT5 in mind, it's pretty evident. In my opinion, there really is no use for all 1200 or so cars when a good chunk of them are inane duplicates, sound like hoovers and the visual quality varies strikingly.

Why not take a step back, streamline the car list, make it ''up-to-date'' while keeping the historically important cars most of us love and bring them all up (or down) to the same level of quality, visually and sound wise? I'd personally much rather opt for a decent amount of less detailed cars - a list that is more diverese and more relevant for today than ten years ago - with great and realistic sounds.

I have no intention making this thread into a Premium vs. Standard cars debate, but I'm not exactly fond having to drive around in subpar ten year old assets in 2013/14.
I think gt6 will surprise us all, even if it takes a few updates into the games life to do so.

(Just kidding!)

PD can't please everybody's agenda :) They are not some kind of a genie in a bottle that makes everyone's wishes come true. Face the reality, no matter how much we write our criticism, whining, complaints, dislikes, or whatever negatives things we have, they are all not going to be like we wanted to be, surely some might gets better or fixed or implemented, but PD is not making a game tailored to everyone.

They can't put all kinds of racing series and their cars in the game, make all premium cars with all bells and whistles - sounds that out of this world, put all elaborate stuff we wanted so we can have a game that we define as great according to our wishes, maybe if one of us sits on the Sony Computer Entertainment Board of Directors or acts as CEO :D

Anyway, I am just going to enjoy reading these similar posts time after time, from all familiar faces on GTplanet - the usual suspects who always have the same kind of posts when it comes to GT and PD and Kaz. I already have a list names in my thoughts from reading the same thing over and over, it kind of like 2 opposing forces here  I'll just have giggles, quietly reading them.

You think I don't know this???? Of course I do but you are all expecting too much

How do you know what I'm expecting and if its too much?

All I expected from GT5 was a product that built on the core values of the rest of series and included features that one could reasonably expect given that key competitors have included them for years.

Not a single expectation I had for GT5 could have been classed as expecting too much.

Someone has different standards to you so you basically accuse them of being spoilt and unable to understand the compromises required in design and development.

You might have a point if all the expectations were so wildly unrealistic as to be absurd, but the majority are not.

GT5 has a lot going for it, but it also has a lot wrong with it, hoping that PD resolve those areas for the next release (GT6) doesn't make a person too demanding at all. You may be happy with the status quo, but many of us would rather see PD back leading from the front.

Streamlining the cars is a good idea I hope gt7 will do this

You obviously aren't one of the people expecting too much. Good for you
So can you explain what exactly means "expecting too much"? What are the features that should be classified as "too much"? Are we asking motion simualtors to be compatible with PS3's ? Are we asking online races with 50 cars on track?

I'm not hoping for anything new this time. Just a Gran Turismo game as all others. At least I wont be disappointed.

There really is no need for the demanding sarcasm, you know as well as I do that quite a lot of people are magically expecting the gt6 to lose all the problems with gt5, and who the hell demands 50 cars on track at once anyway geez

That's what I expected GT5 to be and I was sorely disappointed.

Vague and difensive answer, can you argument a bit? What are in your opinion the most requested features people keep asking but it's clearly too much?

Oh and by the way people in other platforms do endurance races with 50 cars on track.
Don't worry I really think gt6 is gonna be so much better. So excited :)
This is kind of self-contradictory. According to your opinion, you could be expecting too much.

You mean like PC??? Not a console it's a computer goodness me.

Okay so things people want for gt6:

Better engine sounds
Full 60fps
Improved online
No ucd
No standard cars
Improved physics
Better customisation
The 30 something Mazda roadster collection streamlined (and other duplicates)
Some sort of storefront like forza
Free roam
Better gt mode

And people seem to want all of these things at once, and it just won't happen immediately. So, hks, is that enough justification for my point by now??

Oh and of course gt6 is gonna be better than gt5 because polyphony can improve a lot, but they can't make miracles ok?

You can strike improved online, improved physics and better customization (debatable) off the list. Other than those, how many of them are actually unreasonable or undoable, according to you? Many of the listed requests are things that other developers are and have been perfectly capable of doing.

Is it really expecting too much?

Hey they aren't the only factors that need improving/ are complained about, and they're not unreasonable on their own, but altogether and it is demanding THIS IS WHAT IM SAYING

I'm sorry but it's their job and we are only asking for a game that is finally on-par with everyone else. If you think that it is too much work for them fine but then they shouldn't be charging you 60 bucks for their game.

Errr yes they should three years of hard work and a resulting game that will be amazing besides I don't think it will be 60 dollars unless games are stupidly expensive over there in the us

Oh and you said you were sorry you are forgiven

Dude it was on par three years ago

With the best will in the world, it wasn't.

The AI, tyre model, suspension model, graphical consistency, damage and livery options were all behind 3 years ago.

Some of them look like they will still be behind in GT6 as well (despite the areas that have moved forward), which is the concern that people are raising.

It's not our fault that they work their ass off and still can't deliver and we shouldn't excuse them. When I pay 60 bucks for a game or whatever it costs I expect the best I can get out of my money, GT5 clearly isn't and it looks like GT6 won't be either which really sucks for PS3 gamers because there's no other option out there for the platform, even the multiplats are inferior on PS3 than on the other platforms.

GT is not on-par anymore, it sells well because it's the only racing game available on the platform.

Well you bought it :dopey: and gran turismo is NOT the only "racing game" on the platform :sly:
Its just not for you, we get that. GT still offers features that others enjoy and will continue to support. I'm looking forward to testing out what the vision manufacturers came up with. I'm looking forward to the beasty list of tracks to carve through. I'm looking forward to driving cars that I wouldn't be able to drive elsewhere. That's my prerogative. I respect yours, but your delivery like so many others comes off as spiteful. No need to be angry about it, just make your own sim lmao.(joking)

I get your point and surely, it is demanding. I cannot and won't deny that. It's just the fact that they're possible to pull off as other developers has showed us this generation, yet, Kaz and his team are constanly lagging behind.

As a long-term fan of the series, it's frustrating and getting somewhat laughable too.

Great post. +1

I wasn't referring to T10 specifically, but alright.

so be patient and then you'll probably reply with everyone else is stil in front well it's how it is ok
It's entirely up to PD if they are going to play catch-up next-gen as well.

Well if team size is the problem, they're just going to keep falling further and further behind.

They're probably one of the top five most well-funded development teams on PS. If they want to expand their team, they have the resources if anyone does.
