Has anyone ever whined over the timing system?
Why there is only implemented the difference to race leader?
I want to see the difference to the car just in front and behind me? This has always bothered me.

The complete silence of PD on these burning matters is really irritating and I believe the reason they don't speak about them is because they are not going to do any drastic changes at all:

sound

better career mode - proper racing with trials and standing start (no rabbit chase etc.)
more car customization/tuning
livery editor

Some will say it's too soon to know. But since a big number of players had a problem with the above PD would want to reassure us that they are getting fixed completely or at least improved. A reason for them to keep the silence is when not denying or confirming people are starving for news (as I am), in the meantime players all the new shiny things that are going to come and forget what were the biggest gripes. This is a clever strategy that I noticed is also influencing me...

Don't get me wrong I am not wishing GT6 to fail, on the contrary I really want to play GT6 (if it's going to fix the huge flaws it had). I can't afford XB1 or new wheel for it (since I only have a g27) even though I like FM5 a lot! On the other hand my gaming pc is good but there is not going to be a game with lots of cars and customization/tuning in the degree FM and GT have.

Never bothered me. I would rather see the leader's gap between me rather than multiple times cluttering up my screen

When I'm racing online and holding a 10th place then what's the point of showing the gap to the leader?

He scrubbed off alot of speed during the :35 "spin". 150mph to 30mph in 2 seconds all while sliding. Thats concerning considering theres suppose to be a better tire model.

Not sure, but considering it looks like he has all aids on, I'd say SRF is also on in that which would definitely emphasize that.

I'd hope so. In an accurate sim model he would have slid well off into the desert at a high speed eventually hitting some uneven terrain which would flip or destroy the car. What I saw was extremely unrealistic

PD probably didn't see any point in correctly modelling a long offroad slide. Neither do I.

I'm hoping they put that coding time to better use.

We all like to win but realistically we're racing the car in front of us and the car behind us. In the real world the crew chief will monitor the gaps and feed you the most relevant information. I would like the game to give me the option of seeing the gap to the leader or the gap to the car in front of me. I'd like it even better if I had the option to have my crew chief call the gaps to me.

I'm hoping they put that coding time to better use.

Its more then that. A realistic tire model shouldnt grip very well when you are sliding out of control on dirt/grass. Its very much like how I always said if the cars truly displayed proper mass and inertia the crashes would look much more realistic then they do.

All of this contributes to more realistic crash physics. If the physics fall apart when you lose control then how can it be considered a simulation? Part of a simulation is knowing that when you make a mistake, especially at high speed, the consequences can be very bad. If you can run off course and slide around at 200mph and easily get back on then its not a simulation.

I suspect the "problem" isn't the tire model. The problem is that you don't need cars sliding for 500ft off track, so making the offroad area "sticky" solves that problem. A car off the racing surface will shed speed rapidly and stay near the racing surface. Especially in a demo you can see the advantages of this.

Yes, agreed completely. I'm wanting to know what makes this new physics model so great, considering it was the only gameplay aspect of note that they mentioned in the E3 trailer.

Agreed. I care little about either crash damage or how far the car slides in the grass. I spend 99.99% of my time on the track so that's the physics that matter the most to me.

The car scrubbed most of the speed in the rather un-natural looking slide on the tarmac, not the grass/dirt.

You can't just ignore slide or crash physics with the excuse that they're not the point of the game. Those things are part and parcel of racing. Also, saying they shouldn't waste time coding it is just daft. By creating a realistic physics and tire model it should happen automatically as a result.

Not sure if I should be whining about it yet as I have not yet seen if it has been confirmed or not (anyone heard?), but....there just HAS to be time trial leaderboards in this edition for me to buy this game.

I still can't really believe there were none in GT5, I took it for granted that there would be as GT5 Prologue had them, when I bought the full game and found out that they didn't exist I felt like someone had taken the jam out of my doughnut!!

Also, joining an online lobby better be sorted, to this day I still can not join my friends lounge or a public room. I have done all that is suggested on the internets about changing NAT type, clearing cache etc...still no good!

But if we're honest, most of the time a big crash just means that the race is over. Simulating race ending damage would be acceptable for a racing simulation. We don't need a hospital simulation tacked onto the end to make it not "arcade".

No, it doesn't. You can have realistic collision physics without damage. The point here was that cars recovering way too easily from a loss of control is pretty fundamental for a driving simulator, whereas the hyperbole in your post clearly isn't.

Realistic damage and personal injury for everyone would involve ruining the careers of skilled as well as unskilled drivers(if taken to the lengths some suggest). For instance, a poor driver dive bombs a corner only to kill both drivers(or more) or at least end the careers. Realism requires real consequences. This is why no game has adopted realistic injuries as has been implied.

If you die (at least online), then you need to build another driver persona and go through the license tests again. Let's see if the @#^$@*& drivers get to smashing their cars into you often. Better yet if you get into a crash you get a big and strong driving wheel spin enough to break your fingers just like the real thing .

I would not care much about the visual damage, but i would like to see proper mechanical damage implemented. And if you break your car you'll have to buy new parts for it, and if you total it you'll have to buy a new car.
