But it is a racing game and if there where no cars in the game it would not be called a racing game. I have to go online now because their are some races to attend and yes I can see other race cars so it must be called a race then.

So you ignored the bit where I said offline? Great response! I can tell that you are taking the time to understand and consider what others are saying.

It takes more than cars to make a race - there has to be a chance of you losing.

The thing is, the game developers ACTUALLY respond to that feedback and ACTUALLY put it into their games. GRID Autosport said something (I cannot find the quote) that they were going to make a community page and actually take it into consideration into their game. PD just doesn't do that.

Remember Grid 2? It was so successful the developer decided to try a different approach.

Today I decided to play some nostalgia in the form of GT5 Prologue.

My word that game looks amazing on the PS3, better than GT6 in some aspects of frame-rate, shadows, etc.
Also, the sound of GT5 Prologue are better than GT5 & 6.

Shame GT6 ain't like Prologue, in some aspects.

But all the other racing games out there at the moment you will always have members talking about that game saying this and that not right but you can not please everyone about racing games but remember it is only a game and not real.
Of course, but that's sort of given anyway. My point was that those games are atleast doing a better job in areas where GT has previously failed miserbaly; AI, sounds, recycled assets and etcetera.

(As a side note, the very same approach appears to be continiuing with old assets being once again included in GT7, unfortunately. Sounds are said to be updated in the next installment but gives me very little hope due to the aforementioned. And if GT5's and GT6's career mode was any indication, I'm expecting it to be further dumbed down as well as the AI. Hence why I'm out.)

I am not moving on I have been with the GT series for 15 years ok, TokoTurismo do not say all its fans that's been with it for 15 years are moving on to better games since the damage caused by GT5, that is a load of rubbish and if everyone moved on and how come members are talking about the GT6 in other threads about online Time Trials and other races so GT6 is still going strong and TokoTurismo you and I know this but you are never going to get a perfect game.

Nobody expects a perfect game.

Gran Turismo doesn't even have the decency to live up to it's own advertising. Once it does that, maybe it'll be worth cutting it a break.

I'm curious to ask those that profess to "I will buy GT7" what other games they now play or will play on a PS4?

I only play GT5 & 6. (OOPS; let's say "racing games". I diversified a couple of weeks ago.) :)
I hope they play other games to make the purchase of a PS4 worth the cost of it and a new wheel.
In spite of the problems I would buy GT7 just for the entertainment value if that was all I had to buy.
🤬, I'd get it just to be able to join the "GT7 Epic Whining & Crying" forum.

Like what ?

It does seem unlikely that GT5 will ever get matchmaking, now that the online services have been turned off.

As far as GT6, the big miss so far has been the monthly track DLC, announced back at the Silverstone GT6 reveal. There's been some little stuff like the reveal and subsequent disappearance of Zahara.

There's also the "technically true, but seriously come on now" stuff like 1200 cars. Nobody is fooled. They have a lot of cars, more than any other game. But there are not 1200 unique ones any more than I can make one car, duplicate it 1199 times, give it 1200 different names and say I have a game with 1200 cars.

All the bollocks they went into about their new and fancy tyre model, the one that didn't actually take camber into account until it was patched in six months after release.

The ongoing dishonesty of advertising a game using premium cars, when only a minor proportion of the cars are of that visual quality.

There's also a reasonable amount of doubt that they can actually fulfill the requirements of the VGT program. There are 4 (?) cars released, with a couple more expected soon. They have 28 total manufacturers, to be delivered over the course of a year. They have five months remaining, and 24 cars remaining. Who here thinks they can suddenly step it up to releasing five new cars every month until December? Possible, but at no point in GT5 or GT6 history have they released cars at anything like that rate.

So they've missed a couple of big ones, there's still a lot of big stuff we're waiting for with no real information about, and there's a culture of "little white lies" in the advertising, not telling the customer the real truth about how the game is. It's used car salesman tactics, and it's sad to see from a company that produces what could be a first class product.

Are you really Australian?
I hope not...

Le Sigh.

Would you like to discuss the points that I made, or are you simply going to attack me for my nationality?

I'm concerned for your health.
Cover your screen, if anybody nearby sees you contributing to a whining and crying thread and obviously doing as such, I fear you maybe just straight belted.

Skippy don't cry mate, stand up straight you'll end up with curvature of the spine

Hopefully this answers your question @Imari

I've had a quick read through this thread and had a good look through some of the other threads in this section as well as posting my own a while ago.

Up until Forza 5 came out I was active on the FM4 forums (I pre-ordered the game, something I don't tend to do, and still regularly play it now several years later with all the DLC bought the day it came out). I never ever once came across any sort of criticism of the game apart from simple little bugs which people had noticed but had no effect on the game whatsoever. The idea of a whole section of a forum just for people to have their say about the game, be it negative or positive, would be utterly hilarious. This was because the game developers are actually a part of the community so any issues where dealt with immediately because they themselves experienced them personally. None of the problems people are coming across with GT6 are present on any of the FM games. FM is just one example, the new Grid : Autosport is brilliant, some of the need for speed games where quite good too. Then we have the likes of Pro:Race, the F1 series and so on. None of these games where released with major bugs and none of them where re-hashes of decade old programmes.

Either PD really really needs to step up their standards or they need to nip it in the bud and just stop now before they waste anymore of peoples money.

The worst thing for me is that the game has so much potential. You can see the love and attention they put into some parts of the game and you know they had good intentions.

No I don't, fill me in.

Can you cite that they 'had' good intentions and now have evil? intentions?

Had, using a past tense, meaning in the past when they programmed the game. It wasn't made in the present or future.

I have no idea of their current intentions. Maybe they are all sat around a computer reading these threads laughing manically?

I have no idea of their current intentions.

So your saying they could be good or bad?
You don't know like me?

We being left in the dark mate, lots of people seem to know their intentions around here

tell ya the truth
I'm gonna check under my bed for a PD monster tonight, I'm getting nervous

Because Australia should only be populated by PD fanboys that cannot see this game is a copy pasted scam?

I'm from Australia and say this game is a copy pasted scam!

A couple extra notes too;

1. Thought PS4 wasn't backwards compatible so how is GT6 played on the system?

2. I thought Sony had scrapped the subscription fee for use of the PSN?

3. On buying the next gen-console(s) there is a bit of talk the next/current could possibly be the last as they're dying off in sales compared to PC related hardware sales?
