Yes, but surely with all that added weight, our cars are going to be pigs to drive. Our tyres will be shot within the 1st sector. It's bad enough without the ballast.

Actually i didn't think the car felt that bad when i drove it, but then again i haven't broke it in yet so gonna have to add more and more weight. couldn't test the tyre wear though since online is still not working..

Exactly. The tyres go fast enough. I think that the main disadvantage of the Cobra is the fact we will have to be slow to hold the tyres. With this extra weight, I think the tyres will go slower, and so if we are going to compete we will have to go even slower. This may mean going too slow.

We cant see until we test online though.

working on a track. Mt Aso doesnt produce long enough tracks. They are too twisty as well so no overtaking points. Just made a nice one on Toscana, though!

Seems like it's mostly team cobra that is prepping up for the race ^^ only me and TL writing all the time.. i guess the others are waiting for psn to come back.. doubting there will be any racing this week either.

Date changed on first post to next Sunday now, not a massive surprise that the network hasn't come back in time.

I'll be pm' ing everyone when it's up- I hope ppl are reading this but not posting as opposed to putting their name down and forgetting. When I pm ppl I will update the confirmed list for that day. I hope the Jaguar starts :)

TL thanks for working on the track buddy I feel the known track at the start then un-known for the last race is a good formula.

I love the idea of the unknown track :) TL I think we'll have to fight it out who'll get to drive that track :P

Im reading it. I can tell you all that my Jag has ~210,000 on it and as such can only get to 507pp or something. That said. IF it starts... I'd expect it to be a runner, IF the tires don't melt off.

Phouchg

Ive been keeping my prepping to a minimum, witg PSN still down and all.

I've been away from the thread for a while.
But just to check with everyone, I can modify my 512BB to the max, and use RH tires?
Sorry, but how is the opinion about adjustments?
Can we use a fully customizable gearbox, or are we going stock?

530 pp
sport softs
no power limiter

those are the rules, no others what i've heard so far?

Ah, 530 pp was the limit. Yeah, thanks. ;)
I'll try to get my car running.

for the cobra issues, do either of you have the ac cobra? i think thats 508pp stock after an engine and chassis repair. plus is it not an ac in the film?
if you guys need one i can send it over when the ps is back up.
also what tires do i get on the merc since its barely scraping 500pp

First post edited just now ppl.

After reading your comments on the weight of the AC Cobra I checked it out and it's 1311kg and doing rigidity/ engine it's 522pp so when the engine breaks in it won't take any other mods I expect so using the Shelby with ballast you have the lighter car; 1268kg and 526pp having broke the engine in a bit.

Reaper I want to have the same tyre for all the cars, the Merc and Jag are under powered and the Cobra is too powerful so cobra team has to add weight which makes the car harder to drive, and you guys get fully modded cars which if driven well you won't have any offs where-as the cobras, ruf's could easily make a small mistake to cause an off, so hopefully even with differences in the cars it'll still be interesting.
What times have you been able to get on nurburg?

Thanks.

aye sorry dude, the 508pp was going from memory, i was a wee bit out. yeah the a/c i have is 523 but has 31k on the clock so thats as high as it'll get. but the tuning would be limited right enough.
not set a time on the ring yet, i usually do most of my driving online as practicing in gt life involves too much menu land ****fest if you want to test out more than one car. why did they not keep the a,b,c setup options from prologue? so ive not really played gt for around a fortnight now but ill have a few runs round tho and put up a post.
i dont mind what tires i use. just thought i'd ask before practicing.
on the track front im well up for doing the custom track thing, i have an awesome toscana track but i know it like the back of my hand now tho so i dunno if it'd be of use unless everyone got a copy a few days before.

found this on the psn

Hopefully they can get it done in another week then :)

I'm going to have a go in my merc in a bit as well I think, the track at the minute is being designed by team lotus but if you have any ideas maybe pm each other though?

May I suggest using Sports Hards instead? Not sure if someone has suggested this before because the thread is scatterdd with suggestions :D

I'm guessing that team Porsche is going to have a handful with the RUF on sports softs.
Unless they tune it to understeer, a lot.
I'll get up tuning my Ferrari.

Isn't the RUF the second fastest of these cars.
If you can control it, it rewards you.

Please tell me you're joking..

This was what the :P was indicating. But I have no desire to use sports hards. I figured sports softs have been the choice. I've been getting my car setup and practiced on sports softs. So in all honesty... unless we're going with BETTER tires... lets just leave all the tire talk in the past for now.

Besides... I just spent how long driving and reviewing the RUF Project Blackbird cars (6 yellowbirds) and those cars were impossible to drive on racing softs. The jag feels pretty similar on the sports tires. Long wheel base, short wheel track. It's a handful.

I just hope that whoever is behind me will be able to see through all the smoke! lol.

the cobra, ruf and jaguar seems to be a handful, any more? :P i think this is what makes this so fun, the faster cars are much harder to drive fast and the thing with long courses and a completely new course makes it even harder to get the most out of those fast cars. :)

i'm with evo, no more tyre talk, i'm satisfied with sport softs :)

Ounce we get online together, if there's major advantages or disadvantages with any car, I'm sure we can adapt regulations. For now, let's just keep practicing with what we've come up with

Saw that sony aims to get psn up 31 may.. soo seems we'll have to wait even longer.

Don't know really maybe it was that the system will be "fully functional" by 31st, let's hope it's like that and that the online gaming will be up before.
