Well folks, VERY mixed emotions at the track, and it's not over yet!

The Pulsar managed to come through and survive the full 24, finishing 24th! This is it's second Lemons title, and despite the setbacks (including having our top 15 placing brutally taken from us thanks to the early morning crash), we still managed to finish in the upper half of the field!

The best bit is I'm told a few cars ahead of us actually failed to finish in the end, so we may be bumped up a few spots.

The sad news is the Commodore. After 17 hours the old girl dropped 2 cylinders, and it was game over. Lucky nothing went through the block, but either way after seven LeMons entries, Hooncorp's 100% finish rate is now in tatters.

There is A LOT of photos, videos and in car footage to go through, so after a bit of recovery time I'm gonna start fishing through it all and sorting out making some clips for your enjoyment. Stay tuned!

Turns out they're actually quite the regular at Lemons. They always enter as a different theme, but the team name (and car) is always the same. They're called "LeMorons?"

They might be a good bunch of blokes & play fair on track so, I won’t judge a Racecar by its...err....cover.
 


Before every Lemons race, Nik Brown, the Judge, goes over each and every car and ensures that they're true Lemons.

So, Hooncorp now has an Esports team.... Kind of?

I've teamed up with fellow racer and good mate of mine INXILEGTRNZ to take on the Super Formula NZ Series!!! We decided to run as team Hooncorp, meaning that technically Hooncorp's now involved in Esports.

It's been a bit quiet here. But rest assured, we've been hard at work!

Unfortunately, we will not be contesting the September 2019 Lemons. We've done the last five Lemons in a row, since we lost the Lucino at Taupo, the Commodore at Hampton Downs and the Pulsar suffered a smash too, we're gonna skip an event and take the time to really fix them all properly, rather than rush to get them race ready.

There is still plenty more Hooncorp content on the way, the Documentary is still in the works and we're working on it each opportunity we get, plus the Hooncorp Winter Gokart Challenge is back!!! More on that soon. :sly:
 


STILL going through all the footage from the 24hr (That's right, we have so much footage from the race that I'm still finding new bits and pieces two months on!), and found this one that was too good not to share. The green light and first fly-by from all the cars in the race, shot by Josh White!

The Hooncorp / Petrolfumes Winter Gokart Challenge!!!

The Winter motorsports activity that's gone from a speedway off-season funtime to an intense karting endurance challenge starring a who's who of New Zealand speedway drivers and families!

The premise of the event is brutally simple! 20 teams of five drivers are divided into two groups of ten. Each group faces off on a different night, where the top five teams from each night will go on to contest the grand final night that will determine the champions! Each qualifier night consists of five 20 lap sprint races (One for each driver of the team), and two 100 lap races where each driver must have a turn in the kart!

Originally starting out as a series that toured the various karting facilities around Auckland, the Winter Challenge will be exclusively at Xtreme Indoor Gokarts this year. With a two-storey track layout including a high speed cambered ramp up, and a short sharp ramp down, the racing here is unpredictable and always down to the wire!!!

There'll be a write up after the qualifying rounds have concluded. After that, we'll know who's going through to the finals!

Ladies and gentlemen. After many months of work, in between juggling two jobs, a racing career, a social life, etc... THE DOCO IS FINALLY HERE!!!

This is the full, feature length, raw and real account of the Hooncorp x GTPlanet team who took on the 24hr Lemons in May this year. This is the race, the ups, the downs, and the spectacle, all compiled and worked for your viewing pleasure. And now it's finished!!!!

Being our first such production, I know it's not exactly Hollywood, but I hope you guys all enjoy!!!

Just in case you were wondering, we're Kings of the mountain...

We just won the first race of the Rush Sim Racing King Of The Mountain event!! This in-house esports competition is held on iRacing in full, no-expense spared sim racing rigs! Using V8 Supercars at the sacred Bathurst circuit, Mike and I managed to nab the win and secure a spot in the next stage of the event!!

Well, it's been a bit quiet around here, we've sort of taken a few months to relax and spend a bit of time thinking about 2020. And we promise, 2020 is going to be HUGE for Hooncorp! There's a lot more events, some huge announcements and a few extra surprises in store, so look forward to those, they'll be coming sometime in the early new year.

In the meantime, the old Commodore's finally getting prepared for a heart transplant. There's a fresh, new, ready to go motor all lined up for it, now it's just a case of pulling the old out and putting the new in. And let's just say this new one may have a few go faster bits added on... ;)

Hopefully we can improve the Commodore's performance without it breaking into the Limes category!
 
The old motor's out of the Cyclops! After 102 hours of hard, fast racing, it's time to give the old girl a fresh, new powerplant. With everyone on Christmas / New Years holidays, we have all the time and manpower we need to get the job done!

We're also working on something pretty exciting, a calendar of Hooncorp events for 2020! That should be released early in the new year, so stick around to see what we have planned for the next year!

Apologies for the lack of updates lately folks, Mike's had a bit of medical drama so all the race car prep and event planning operations have kind of taken a bit of a back seat to matters lately.

We're still working furiously behind the scenes in some other areas, with some pretty massive news in the works too! We should be able to tell you more about that soon.... ;)

In the meantime, make sure you're keeping safe on the roads, and saving the hooligan antics for the track!
 
We had a very, VERY special guest drop by the Hooncorp HQ the other day. None other than @Jordan himself!! He came and checked out the HQ, the cars, the fine flavors of our country, and funnily enough, even stayed at an accommodation overlooking the front straight of Hampton Downs!! Reckon we'll have to try and rent the same spot so we have somewhere to sleep for the 24hr... ;)

No worries, that's because Hooncorp didn't front any cars this time around, instead we decided to give back to the event and help out with penalties, media and other helpful things.

Aside from the usual cash and booze bribes, there was also a questionable concoction from a team of mad scientists, a giant plate of roast chicken, a doomsday weapon and literally a 20L container of premium gas. Definitely some out of the ordinary ones that time!
