IMO, you guys can keep your S13s, 14s, and 15s. They are great cars and all but instead I would find myself driving one of these gorgeous pieces of Japanese steel :

The CSP311 Silvia from 1965 though 1968! (only 554 ever made)

Thread title changed, but I'll try to think of a better one. It wouldn't let me use strikeout, or it would've been:
The "June" "Next" Update speculation, wishlist and conspiracy theory thread

The 'oops' is about our hopes, nothing more to read into it :)

IF we get a content update early in July I'm still going to think of it as just a late June update... whatever PD call it :D

You know I find it a bit hilarious as people creating hype for themselves, then being completely dissapointed because of their own hype.
They have mentioned an update for June and that was the FIA championship season on June 20th.

It is not the "June" update but it is an update in June, to expect more content right after a 20th June update is just crazy.

That was a more general code update, bugfixes etc. We've had them in other months and then had one for new content that PD have named by the month, like "the 'Gran Turismo Sport' May update". They didn't call the one on the 20th "the June update".

I enjoy a good bit of speculation. Not so keen on the hyping OR the hype-knockers, but it does help to look a bit less crazy if any 'facts' you use are correct ;)

So June is the first month where PD have not delivered a content update. I'm sure the content is ready but PD aren't prepared to put in the game yet. I don't care if the FIA Championships are happening, that's no excuse to not have an update. Just release some new vehicles already - now is the perfect opportunity because there's a small break in the FIA Championships. GET ON WITH IT.

I don't care if the FIA Championships are happening

Indeed, I don't see that as a likely reason. They could add new Nxxx or GrX cars, or even new tracks/layouts, without needing to use them in the champ's.

They will probably add some cars but don't expect any new tracks....maybe Pike's Peak if we are lucky

Can we at least get an upgraded sports exhaust for the R34? its an absolute sin I can increase the power to 900hp with the stock exhaust, it also sounds like crap.
In 900hp it actually sound like its got an exhaust!

Man, chill. You’re getting up in arms about an update we weren’t promised

A content update for June was NEVER promised. There was no official roadmap of promised content planned beyond March. PD aren't obligated to constantly provide new content every single month. New content will appear when its ready. The attitude some people have when there isn't substantial content just smacks of entitlement following what we've been given already.

This whole fiasco could have been avoided if people did not hype up a june update and PD's failure to communicate.

PD could have just said there is no update this month. Rather having pwople speculate and hyping for an update.

Poor play by PD to be honest.

Don’t blame PD for the stupidity of their fellow humans, it’s just not fair!

People could've just not have speculated anything that PD never really promised, or even said anything about

Poor play by everyone to be honest.

I disagree, in my opinion it's 100% our fault for been disappointed, PD haven't said a word about monthly content releases, i'm disappointed as well, because I have been used to monthly content releases so far, but that's my own fault and not PD's.
PD dosen't even have it's own forum, so PD works in their own pace and share info with us if they have some info to give us, other than that we should not expect anything else from PD.

I agree with you, but it’s a very poor show by PD when their competitors can create contend (either free or paid) monthly, keeping the game fresh. And communicate to the fans, the people that pay their wages.

The lack of communication is the worst part of this. I personally think they are working on GT7 for a release with the PS5 early on. They have already shown GTS at 8k resolution, so just the PS5 is needed.

...there wasn't anything to communicate? Surely them saying nothing about an update coming out this month is a bit of a hint that there isn't an update coming this month?

Even if PD promised nothing you still have some who believed an update will still come.

PD has added more cars to GTS post-launch than any of the other games released last fall have.

And communicate to the fans, the people that pay their wages.

Have they released a patch without announcing it beforehand? They shouldn't have to make an announcement to say something that they never said was happening isn't happening.

Regardless of whether they say anything or not, it should be assumed that nothing is coming out until said otherwise. We're all well aware of how long this stuff takes to make.

I looked at Forza's update history. Of all their monthly (sometimes multi-monthly) updates, from what I can percieve there's only 2 mega-updates, and only 1 of them include car packs. At least there's 2 of them

Assetto Corsa has no monthly updates to begin with, as well as PCARS 2.

I think it's fair to say that

I don't know what you're talking about.

And that's because they're stupid. It's on them, not PD

I fear there won't be another update until the fall as the seasons goes to the end of summer I think.

Wonder if GTS will hit the 500 mark as suggested by Kaz? I know he said 'could' and 'up to' so fairly ambiguous but still...I just hope they stop with the fantasy cars now. Think we have enough VGTs and other fictitious cars, thanks very much guys...

I think it really depends on how long GTS is supported, which IMO, should be for a while, given the intent on supporting the FIA and esports championships - they need to be able to keep the player base active for each coming season. They were able to pull off 50 cars in about four months, most of which were ports of premium cars from GT5/6 which I’d image are much quicker to make a GTS introduction than a complete remodel). There’s still at least a solid ~200 good cars to pick from that pile, and even with the “gaps” in the monthly packs, I think 100-120 cars per year is very feasible, and we’d only need another ~2.5 years to hit the 500 mark. I don’t believe there will be another GT on the PS4, it’s sounding like the PS5 is too close to make a “GT7” land in a similar way that GT6 was launched, especially with Kaz’s statements about hardware and VR capabilities - sounds like he’s pushing to hop onto the next spec.

TL;DR: I think it’s plausibly doable.

On the other note, haven’t we had only like one fictitional car added since something like December/January? I believe the hybrid version of the Audi VGT is all, which is based on EV-only version that Audi actually built. I guess you could also count the Supra Gr. 3 concept, but that was also “built” as well. Before that I believe the only other fictional car was the Zagato VGT which came in that first small car pack with the Shelby and Audi LMP.

*Edit - I forgot about the RedBulls and the FT-1 Concept. But still, that’s less than 10% of what’s been added so far. The content updates have largely been following your request already.

WAIT WHAT WHERE?

I think GT Sport will get a Spec 2.0 release for the PS5 with some big changes and all the boost in graphics, then years later we get GT7,it's the smartest decision they could make to shorten the distance between releases

Christ I never meant it like that... I just don't want this to turn into the same fiasco we had with GT6. That is my concern.

Polyphony’s initial support of this game has been incredible. Granted the DLC is mostly a rehash of GT6 content, but look at the numbers. We’ve had Tsukuba, Monza and Le Mans and about 50 plus cars, most of which are undeniable classics. In any other game that would be considered a very generous DLC program.

So what’s left to come? I’d put good money on Spa and Silverstone been added before the year is out, given their historic value in motorsport. Two tracks by December then, maybe a third if we’re lucky - maybe even Catalunya given the endurance event in September?

As for cars, I’ve researched the existing premiums still to be ported and to be honest there’s only about 60 odd cars worth adding to the game. The rest are either outdated or duplicates and probably wouldn’t be missed.

For me the big question is 2019. I’d like to see genuinely new content and not just rehashed assets from the PS3 era. There’s a lot of contemporary supercars still missing from the game (the Ferrari line-up is particularly woeful), and a lot of classics too. Over 2 iterations last gen we went from having no Lamborghinis nor Ferraris to a very extensive roster by GT6. Imagine what Polyphony could do with the Porsche back catalogue!

Excited for the future though, should be great times ahead!

So it's pretty clear that they're taking GT6's super-premiums and polishing them up for GTS.

I tried to find a list of cars that were *new* to GT6 and also added to GT6 with DLC, but I couldn't find a resource that had just that. Did you find such a list?

That would be a great way to see what we can expect.
