The new BMW X2

I don't think the X2 is ugly at all. In fact, it's one of the best looking new compact crossovers.

It's the best looking X-anything BMW. X5 aside, the rest have always looked awkwardly proportioned.

This looks more traditional crossover than SUV. I assume it's based on the platform that will spawn the next 1/2 Series? Being a transverse FWD-based platform allows the compact proportions better packaging so it's styling isn't as compromised as all the other 'small' BMW's are.

It is indeed based on the UKL architecture that will be used on the next 1 series and some next generation 2 series models. As well as the X2, it's currently used on the 2 series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer, the X1, and the CDM 1 Series sedan, as well as all of the current MINI line up (and the Zinoro 60H).

... in any case, it's not often that I read someone preferring the use of styling defined by FWD proportions on a BMW! You should go and say that to the vitriolic FWD hate-spewers on BMW forums :nervous:

This "idiotic grin" grille design just needs to die.
Quoting myself from the Portofino thread:

Ferrari. Please. For the sake of drunk Jesus Christ on a unicycle. Stop making grille designs that look like idiotic grins. They are not stylish, they are not cool, and they're totally not classy - which makes this kind of design unacceptable for cars designed by the manufacturer of the caliber Ferrari is.
*flips table*

(I wasn't sure whether to include GTC4Lusso or not, but then I decided not to, as its grille at least doesn't resemble a grin this much)

I think it worked on the F12, but overall I agree. They toned down the grille on the 812, but it is cancelled out by the cartoonish headlights.

The 458 is the last Ferrari/Pininfarina design I really like.

Apart from the california T which doesn't look that bad, I agree.

As much as that Body kit looks tacky, my main problem goes to that hideous rims. It doesn't look better in person ether:

Surprisingly, it's more popular on the road than both the 370z Nismo and GTR Nismo. Some went on and tried to modify his/her normal Y62 Patrol to Nismoalike.

An SUV that costs over 100K that is..:indiff:
but then again, Patrol's are like the top most popular SUV's so yeah.
I thought the Land Cruiser was the most common SUV in the Middle East... I guess not anymore?

Depend on which middle eastern country you are talking about. I would say while the L200 Series Land Cruiser is the most popular, the Y62 Patrol, Chevrolet/GMC Tahoe/Yukon and Ford Expedition aren't that far off. The J70 Land Cruiser on the other hand is rather uncommon over here compared to other places like Saudi Arabia or Qatar where it's much more common.

The Indians may know how to craft a small car cheaply and efficiently, but this one here is an ugly mess. The tires are small enough to look like they came off of a matchbox car, and most SsangYong crossovers have better proportions then this.
