Wait that looks like a Evora??

If you look closely at the hood, you will see a McLaren Badge. That confirms that the car is the MP4 💡

I don't think the McLaren has anything on the original.

I thought that there was one and only one McLaren :dunce:

I'm genuinely curious how many people would assume the F1 was the first McLaren...

Slip I bet you about 80% or more. Even so-called gear heads know very little about them. As far as thier first road car I'd say I'd choose the McLaren M81 Mustang.

Mclaren F1 is valued at £2,000,000 these days , why would you possibly get it dirty!

I agree with you on that. The original F1 is somewhat of a legend and despite how good the MP4 is it doesn't quite hold up to the original.

The new car is still good though, in it's own right.

The mp4-12c isn't ment to compete with the F1 it is a new class of car for mclaren, its aim is to be better than the lamborghini gallardo and the 458 italia.

The f1 replacement is due at the end of 2012 it is currently known as the p12 project and trust me when I say it will easily replace the F1, after all I have seen it's specs.

Yep exactly what witham said, the MP412C is aimed mostly at the 458, which just set the bar for the performance sportscar market, and judging by the suspension walkarounds and integrated wing on the back, this will be a pretty serious performer and will be likely able to kill the 458 at any track. I just hope they don't catch fire without any reason.

I can't wait to see the first dual test with the MP4-12C and the 458. I think the 458 will get smashed.

New F1 successor? Can't wait to see that.

As for the MP4 vs 458 I believe the MP4 has a slight edge, if it is indeed included in GT5 then all the better. Feels odd to have one car but not the other.

WOW!

I've just been watching the coverage of the Korean GP and the feature on the Mclaren technology centre was amazing. How cool would it be to be able to look around the museam section in GT5 with all the historical cars on show! Obviously red bull have some heavy involvement, it would be great to be able to wonder around their hanger too but, Mclaren has the pedigree, I'd much rather have a snoop around their cars!

McLaren is a classic marque that doesn't get the recognition from the general public it deserves. I think it's great to see them getting their own garage it GT5 and hopefully a more extensive one than just the F1.

Lets officially welcome the MP4-12C to Gran Turismo shall we?

EDIT: Ignore the red circle in the back. From a separate discussion.

I don't think there was ever any doubt, but its always nice to get "confirmation".👍

Well someone here did report seeing PD (a whole bunch of Japanese people) at Mclaren HQ scanning the F1 GTR and MP4-12C

This confirms it was all true :)
We might see a few other classic Mclarens as well, and some F1 cars...

I don't like the MP4-12C, but I'm glad it's in. I'm holding out for a classic.

Please tell me you have a bigger picture.:drool:

The only thing I dislike about the MP4 IT'S NOT CENTER DRIVE, it's right hand drive. I still love the lines of the car though.

I second this, What is the dark red car beside the Blue and White Shelby Corbra?

It's the Alfa Rameo TZ2. The same car that Kaz picked as the GT Award winner at last years Concours d'Elegance.

That is as big as the picture gets I'm afraid, check the general gt5 chat to see a pixelated pic. Its probably about 50 pages in by now though

I played the Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit demo last night and lo and behold one of the selectable cars was a Porsche!

Although I can't remember the exact model I believe the full game has around 10 different models to choose from.

NOW if Porsche allow their cars to be in what's essentially an arcade demolition derby, I'm sure as hell they'd want be included in this generations premium racing title.

So I've got high hopes for Porsche making their GT debut in the coming weeks!

Probably helps EA holds and controls Porsches software licensing since NFS Porsche unleashed back in 2000. All other publishers that use the Porsche license in games go through EA.

You should just get rid of those hopes right now.
