People in the above Twitter thread are stepping up to defend him because KCMO is not that far from Kansas. Clearly he can do no wrong in their eyes.
If he were a little smarter, he could be Jim Jones.
 
There were less than 100.000 people when they first started counting them in California in 1850.
 

While I agree that the system is deeply undemocratic & flawed ... I'm not sure you can blame it on the Founding Fathers/slave owners. They were just trying to cobble together a nation out of the original thirteen colonies. They had no idea there would be areas of the continent that would one day be divided into new states & that they would have widely disparate population numbers. It was surely the responsibility of later politicians to introduce measures/amendments that would have made the electoral system more accountable?
