“…the Southern States wanted to secede for reasons which to this day remain unclear”

Really? No clarity whatsoever? Nothing to do with wanting the right to own other human beings?

It's a complete mystery. We will never know why the (Un)Civll War happened, or if it even happened!

Remember this is Kayleigh McEnany's explanations. There's no way a good conservative like her would be able to admit the South rebelled so they could continue to own slaves. So it's just "for reasons".

Guys, this is satire. These aren't real McEnany explanations. Apologies if that wasn't clear to anyone.

The concerning thing is she & others are silly enough to push those statements out there as fact.

Kayleigh's credibility is kind of beneath floor-level, especially since the bronzered brownshirt she's so desperate to big up has so little respect for her he even made up one of his special little nicknames for her ("Milktoast").

For further laughs (at least, for those who care about such things) Aubrey's post has been epically ratioed:

She also had to suffer the further humiliation of a visible community note echoing Stephen's reply (which itself dwarfed her own post's popularity with over 43,000 likes).

Was going to post her reply and its own subsequent widespread debunking but was tree'd while trimming the screenshot.

It’s never just “civilization” that they use as a term. It has to involve “the west” somehow. Whatever that even means, anyway. Personally, I think they’re just trying to say “white.”

Those poor put-upon MAGAs. People won't stop calling them fascists and racists when all they want to do is secure the existence of their people and a future for white children.
