I've had two more ideas that I want to do before I forget them, but after that I'm going to do "guest" OPs. So, figure, Friday.

Is this what Toro feels like every day?

My daily life has been encapsulated by a many month old JJ comic, and even I find that depressing.

He's corrupting JJ, and it's starting to piss me off. All he used to draw was AJ, Dash and Gilda (sometimes even humanized), but nooooooo, can't have that. How is he going to keep drawing stuff like this:

Oh, and my first version of that OP had the title written as: "Faal Twilight Sparkle, Bronies, Dovahs, aahrk Dovakhiin Thread". I was actually going to word it differently to include more of those words, but I don't feel like trying to recall how I had it.

But I figured typing in the dragon's language was going a bit far.

I've lost my mind to that game. I'm willing to bet that damn Alduin took it.

I'm no JJ but here, I drew these an hour ago during the live stream I did for my friend (I had to cut it short once the parental control in her house kicked her off the internet; it's her curse for having precocious younger siblings )

Extra fast and loose with the art, because drawing with a tablet is a bit awkward for me.

Definitely. This is such a late response, but I took the post that I saw of this earlier in this thread and blew it up, then re-drew the Rainbow Dash over the old one to make it less fuzzy. Say hello to my desktop background 👍

It started out as just her normal Ballad wear, but then I decided to accessorize, so yes, it could certainly be the Dressed to Kill fall line.

That'd be Eduard Khil, so it would make it obscure Russian humor, which isn't nearly as obscure as British houmouour.

Well I've spend a grand total of £25 on ponies (big spender right here). How much more than that would the MANE-6 plate cost anyway?



Something involving TwiDash or Big Mac?

I think it's about £300 (You might want to check conversion on the price) (It's $495AU I'm sure that's less than what Mint has spent).

I've decided that if it is still available in about a week I'll get it. That gives me time to rethink if I really want it. That's also the cut-off point to get it by Christmas.

@Toro, what's hard to not get about that comic. Dash found out it was Trollolo guy all along, and he would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for that pesky Dash and her turtle.

My sentiments exactly. My superior, highly advanced cognitive abilities demand more structured character development! ...At least they did until I discovered the magic of fanfic. And of course, to an extent, I'm being sarcastic (never seems to translate well over text). It's possible to over analyze anything, and such analyses will sometimes deliver disappointment. That's when I have to ask: Does it really matter? Or, more specifically, does it matter that there is a lack of character development? In this case--as long as episodes don't come off as TOO repetitive and trite--no, it doesn't. And as far as I'm concerned, a good writer who can conjure up a plot that doesn't completely ignore the canon story line and doesn't deviate too far from the established FiM universe will definitely get me my fix of depth that a kid's show simply can't.

But hey, in the end it's all about personal preference, and I realize fanfic isn't the solution for everyone.

Bad-> Boastful -> Trixie = RD -> Boastful -> Good?

I was wondering the same thing, since Trixie/RD characters are alike it will be quite difficult to write that lesson about humility since such thing was already done by Trixie(as antagonist), RD (as a protagonist) does have more weight in this case because unlike Trixie she gets an actual closure, closure that weirdly contradicts the moral lesson of the story (hence the sudden impact that the closure has on the episode).

It's not that they aren't doing character development. I don't need, nor want, every episode to be a heavy handed "And Knowing is Half The Battle" thing; or for them to throw out character growth episodes that make it so earlier episodes are impossible to enjoy. It's that they are making episodes with the intention of establishing character development for her without actually following up on it.
Or, more grievously, making episodes that deliver Aesops that say her personality traits are bad when some other character displays them but are alright when she shows them in the same episode (Boast Busters). In Boast Busters, they ran Trixie out of town (well, not really, but you get my point) for acting like Rainbow Dash. Dash was even the hero of sorts even though she was acting just as bad. 28 episodes (or however many she had a prominent role in) of Rainbow Dash acting basically the same way (to varying degrees) later, they finally decide to tackle the elephant in the room for two episodes in a row, and both times she doesn't learn anything but everyone is fine with that anyway.





And unlike Boast Busters and (to a lesser extent) May The Best Pet Win, I didn't think the episode itself was really any good either. A bunch of groan-worthy jokes and silly situations that were presented with complete sincerity wrapped up in Brony in-jokes and predictable plot points, ultimately culminating in a moral that (while presented much better than the one in Boast Busters) was forgotten within 30 seconds of being told it. The only thing I really liked about it was the Batman references and all the AppleDash stuff that popped up on Ponibooru since the episode aired.






And I recognize that reading fan fics are really the only way I'm going to get major character development. I wrote this after all. I just want it to be so when the show's writers give it a hand they actually do so successfully, which they have done a good job doing with all of the other characters so far; and as a result they should stay far away from anything dealing with humility or haughtiness.

i was thinking back on it, and it hit me that Jem tried a similar treatment to FiM LONG before there was such a thing as crossovers between toy genres. after all, Jem was just another way to promote a Barbie clone. but it had the same kind of Music idea FiM does. i still have cassettes i taped off the TV with the totally awesome songs they punched into that show. Bleep, they even set up a music video thing in the corner in the show every time they played one in the series.

and don't forget, I'm old enough to remember first wave G1 ponies and watch my sisters play with them at the same time I was playing with Go Bots (which were cheaper than Transformers) and my hot wheels and Matchbox cars (which means I've been a car guy for a LONG time)

Actually no, is more down to people who have who dont have a well defined sexual identity, any concept alien to the normal hetero rule is confusing for them and therefore they resort to rejection as defense mechanism, same applies to homophobics but the ironic thing is that there are more chances for them to be homo due to their lack of sexual definition.
