It's been 7F with a -15 windchill since I got up. The worst part is I have to go outside, I'm trying to prolong that as long as I can.:nervous:
That's what it was last night when I snowblowed in my pajamas.

(still -45 windchill)

A bit to the north in Sweden it was -41 C last night.

I had to turn off the fan last night. It was a chilly 17ºC

This happened in about an hour:

The drive home was interesting though. Oakland County is broke and can't afford salt even though Detroit is a salt mine. So they put sand on the roads mixed with salt making it a muddy, slippery, awful mess. Snow tires worked well though.

Yeah it kind of is. Of course you don't have to worry about snow pack running out and fires quite like we do out here in the summer I'm guessing...

Well, this is our dry season, right now we have red flag warnings for fire danger. We've had some serious fires in the past, my whole county had to be evacuated, whole charred palm fronds were falling from the sky, there was so much ash it looked like a volcano had erupted. so we do deal with that. We get flooding too, we had over 80 inches of rain last year, 5-8 inches of water in the streets in places. It's like we experience a bit of everything  Including the possibility of snow Friday night into Saturday morning. I've seen it snow here once before, that was enough, I'm over cold weather, it's only January...:nervous:

The snow here is rather silly as well. All the streets and so on had been clear for more than a week, and now its all a disaster again. Of course they haven't plowed my neighborhood. Of course they haven't plowed all of the major streets and highways I drive on. Of course people are driving like idiots. Why the hell they haven't gotten this stuff sorted out since it started snowing in October is beyond me.

Looks like we got about 4 to 6 inches depending on the area.. hmmm... Roads are ehh...

You guys have some extremely cold weather.

Meanwhile, It's 40C outside now. The next 3 days are tipped to be 41, 43 and 43C for Adelaide, but it's usually hotter here, probably around 45C. (115F)

Final snow fall? 4.5" and it's all over the road since they haven't been cleared yet. I'm a little annoyed about that.

I picked a bad week to leave my camera at my Mum's house - there are two 3 ft long icicles hanging down over my neighbour's window, and there is a 4 inch high ice stalagmite forming infront of my front door where there is a constant drip from the guttering above my flat!

Cell phone? PS3 Eye? Laptop w/ built-in camera? You may be surprised just how many cameras are in your home right now.

Scotland hit -22°C last night apparently and some places near me hit -16° too. It's been very cold today both inside and out, and all of the roads were lethal as the slushy snow turned to ice.
