approx. MINUS 11 °C in Hamburg (North of Germany)...still snow and ice on the streets (from the last weeks) but the sun is burning like tires on a quarter mile...
Have a nice day, guys!

Snowed and blowed all weekend... built up several 5 foot high drifts in our back yard. Side roads almost impassable... good times!

Apparently a little bit of snow and 45mph winds means no travel is advised.

I will admit that glare ice and less than a block visibility isn't ideal, though...

It's somewhat near freezing here for the first time in a while.

And it's snowing!! It's pretty light but I haven't seen much fresh stuff so far this year at all really. Maybe this will replenish what we had before since it all melted.

we got around the same temperatures over here. At midday car showed 35 and now its cooling down to like 27.

Chris

35C is not that hot for here but that's pretty hot for NZ (You are in NZ right?) if i'm correct.

It was originally going to be 38C today, but the forecasters brought it back to 30C.

Same here, although all the melted snow, rain, and additional freezing rain made the roads pretty slick.

The roads are covered in ice here. It was unexpected because they didn't expect the roads to get below freezing after a week of 45-50 degrees. So, it was all untreated.

It took me an hour and a half to drive 38 miles.

Snow! Not much more than an inch, but snow is snow. W00t!

I was a little disappointed when I opened the door to go to class this morning and it was sleeting outside. But other than that, definitely went running and sliding all the way down the main road coming back from the computer lab last night on the icy streets.

Got a little snow in Indy too... wonder if there is more to come this week...:sly: Randy

I hate just how unpredictable weather can be.

This weekend I should get anywhere from 2 inches of snow to 1.5 feet of snow. Since the storm they are tracking won't stick on a steady path the computer models change hour to hour. So, I have been getting this schizophrenic forecast bouncing back and forth between, "nothing to worry about," and "WEEZ ALL GONNA DIE!!!"

It doesn't help that weather forecasters say everything like it's going to happen. I think it would just be easier if they said "best case scenario is X, worst case if Y", they don't and that's what irks me.

Around here it's cold, like 19 or something with a bit of a wind. They are saying maybe an inch of snow tonight into tomorrow but it's so cold and dry that it probably won't stick and will just blow around.

Yeah, but then you couldn't have idiots like the guy on WKYT in Lexington that gives you a "5 degree guarantee." I apparently get something back (ad time?) if he is off by more than 5 degrees.

Of course, he is also, without making it obvious, giving himself a ten degree window. So, he does give a worst case, best case scenario through implication.

That sounds pretty nice right about now...

We're at 15 degrees with 10-30 mph winds making the wind chill -2. It's freaking cold. And I walked out the door this morning in shorts. Yeah. :nervous:

The cold January/February weather is on its way. Single digits are coming tomorrow and will be sticking around for a while. Typical for this time of year. February is always the coldest month. I am sure it will get much colder in the next couple weeks. Glad I put in the synthetic oil. Its also nice the 05 Subaru has such an incredible heater and is so good in the snow. I am so glad I bought that car. We love it. 👍

I wasn't thinking. I normally wear shorts all year and just didn't think about the weather before going to class at all...

But as it turns out, temperatures in the teens with single digit wind chills are actually pretty nice with a fleece and pants on. Who woulda thought?

I... Uh...

You are from Washington, right? Why are there even shorts in your wardrobe? :grumpy:

And they're not even zip-off hiking shorts...

It warmed up a bit today. But my weather gadget tried to tell me there was still an apocalyptic cold outside so I bundled up a bit. It was disappointing to see it was mush warmer than I thought.

Today 35C, Hot and dry.
Tomorrow 37C, Hot and dry.

Too hot for playing sport all day. :indiff:

It's cold here, 17 but feels like 8 with the wind chill. Supposed to start warming up on Sunday and by the mid of next week be back up into the 30's. This winter has been fairly mild all things considered.

According to the current snowfall figures, we have 29" on the ground and have received 162" to date. It's 12F and feels like 4F with a 4mph wind.

Today has been quite an unusual day for weather in the west country. Overcast first, then some wind, then clear skies, then a 5 minute hail shower, then clear skies again and more wind, then another very large rain cloud, but virtually no rain, then clear skies again, then a 15-minute blizzard of snow and hail, then clear skies again, then more snow.

4000mm?? That's equal to about 20 years worth of rainfall here. 29 inches is about 3 years worth of rain.
