Currently 3°F according to the National Weather Service. When I woke up and got around for class today, it was -10°F with that being the actual temperature and the wind chill being around -30.

This is what I woke up to today. I was wondering why I was absolutely freezing in my college dorm despite the heater being on full blast, and this would explain it.

There is supposed to be a 43 degree temperature increase today. That will definitely cause some atmospheric disturbances and that winter storm warning should hold true.

We had to cancel my daughter's birthday party for tomorrow.

We had rain this weekend, I was not looking toward walking to work today. Luckily it snowed just enough to cover all the wet and icy roads. All over Alaska we're having spring weather....even Fairbanks schools were canceled due to warm weather, which is really odd considering they had -30°F temperatures recently


This is the "Burn" which is considerably the worst part of the Iditarod trail...and now the Iron Dog snowmobile race

Last week, I had 5 days of very sunny weather, here.

When I got back home, there was no sun at all, not even today. It's cold, wet and overcast.

This morning, right before work it was snow and blowing snow. About half way to work, I saw two flashes. I was thinking maybe it was the transformers shorting due to the weather....but it was a very rare occurrence of "Thundersnow". The Nome Police Department even issued a Public Service Announcement weather advisory:
