75" of snow? Only 100" on the season? LI has had maybe 10 inches all season. We haven't had a major snowfall in years.

Long Island isn't in Michigan or lake effect areas though. But considering we had 120" I believe last winter (with the snow not really starting until around now, only 25 more inches doesn't seem like much.

But it's nothing like the mountains... Mount Rainier gets around 64 feet per year I guess.

This has been the wackiest winter weather ever in Austin, Texas.

In a two week period we went from 85 degrees to below 30, back to 80, down to low 40's, back to high 80's, now we are about to have yet another freeze...

I think Mother Nature needs a serious dose of lithium to treat its obvious bipolar disorder. ;)

I'd take the freakouts versus the constant cold we're having here. As I recall from the news last night, we've got a big cold snap coming in from America's Hat, and I don't appreciate it. The temp gauge says 18F right now, its due to get colder as the day goes by... Not to mention the insane winds that are accompanying it.

RE: Philly and Snow

My best guess is that we'll get at least two, maybe three more "big" snow falls before the winter is over. Seems like there is usually one toward the end of January, one in the middle of February, and then usually just when you're getting your hopes up that Spring has arrived in March... You get dumped on once more.

No not snowing here. Nowhere near snowing. We're having 40C days. I was saying that in Australia where I live we would never see snow even in winter. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh ok lol.

Cooled down a lot here, but still pretty warm, about 30C at the moment with a top of 34 or so expected...

Lolwut? Are the Seattleites invading Michigan or something?

Considering the fact that about 80% of the population of the town thinks it'll be a good idea to buy 3 weeks of supplies every time....

I've never been to Seattle, so I wouldn't know about the similarities. You fill in the blanks.

It reached 43 in Melbourne yesterday (according to our car's external temperature monitoring system anyway). The weather report predicted today to be even hotter, which is why I've forgone hitherto venturing outside.

My thermometer said 42C yesterday, only like 34 today though, still feels a lot hotter.

Its not that special. If you've ever been in a walk-in freezer you can get a moderately good idea of what it feels like. Otherwise, its mostly a pain in the butt. I've had to re-shovel my driveway at least three times this week, and now that we're sitting around the negative temps (-2F right now, that'd be -19C), we get to deal with cars that start breaking down... Frozen radiators, all that jazz.

I hate the cold so I wouldn't trade. Saying that you do get sick of 40C days fairly quickly :banghead: You just get sun burnt so easily at it drains you of energy soon as you walk outside.

Staying indoors ftw. I'd rather have it cold than warm.

Really? I like spring because it's around mid 20's, low 30's. Perfect:). I've got pale skin so I get burned to easily in summer and in winter it's too cold for my liking. Spring is the best.

I like those cloudy days actually, it's perfect temperature. It's slightly towards the colder side but that's how I like it. I like it in the high 10's to low 20's.

Yeah thats not actually a bad temperature. Jeez I love Australia, the weather is fantastic. We don't get snow and -C temperatures but most of the year it's around 20C. Awesome weather when you think about it. :D

You know, weather at about 7AM is bliss (bare with me here). Sometimes it's beautiful outside, sun shining and a bit of fog. It's freezing cold but it always feels nice to wake up to that. :)

I'm with you mad94, i like the warm weather, 20C winter isn't too bad though, the coldest we get in winter is like 10C... that's probably not cold to most people outside Australia, but it's cold to me...

Yeah 10C is too cold. Anything over 20C is fine. Its meant to be 42C tomorrow where I live. Not looking forward to that.

It was 42C yesterday here, i felt like fainting the moment i opened the back door, and the car was an oven. :(

Yeah, and my dad and I are meant to be going go karting tomorrow. Thats gonna be insanely hot racing in 42C heat.

Dude that sucks... -45C here this morning, I feel really sorry for you guys down under!

In case you didn't notice, I was being sarcastic...

-45C! Thats ridiculously cold. As I said earlier, anything under ten degrees is too cold for me. But trust me anything over 40C is seriously hot. So only 87C difference between us . I'd rather be here in the hot.

What a lovely day we have in store:

-12°F (windchill of -33) is the warmest we are going to get to today.

Global Warming my ass. That sounds a fair bit dirtier than I was intending...

I'm getting perilously close to taking you Aussies up on trading locales.

Actually, I'm a big fan of the 25-40 degree days. I really enjoy the heat, the only downside for me is trying to get to sleep at night. The last two days have been great for me (41 on Tuesday, 38 today), great swimming weather. Tomorrow's going to be a big drop, down to 28, but still nice and warm.

Yeah, getting to sleep is a problem. As I said earlier anything between 10C and 40C is fine. But tomorrow, 42C! and i'm gonna be outside all day. I'm gonna get burnt to a crisp.
