Rain and around 40ºF for the past 36 hours. Car almost got stuck trying to back out of my own parking spot in the yard, starting to develope our own pond system.. Heard, of all things last night, a rather vicious crack of thunder. But only one. The dogs were terrified.

Cheers,

Hmm, that's what I thought. I'd just like to give you an idea of what it's like.

Imagine a knife made of ice, peeling off your face. That's how I felt walking to school.

It's currently 12°F, feels like -2°F. I think winter is finally here.

We've actually had snow on the ground for longer than 24 hours.

Seemed a bit strange to still have kinda green grass in November.

We have about a foot here in some parts of Grand Rapids, and its still snowing as we speak. Being inside, I don't think I can get a good picture here from AQ. I'll have to get one in a bit from the phone.

That looks like the frost we get in the morning..

Right now its 37 degrees on our back deck.. Today is looking to be another cold sunny day in the bay area.. how exciting.

Please, take the share we're supposed to get. Let it rust out your pride and joy. I was so much happier in Phoenix. :grumpy:

Here is what we got today, taken around 12:15 this afternoon:

That would be after the sun had been out for an hour and the snow had been given an hour or two to settle. It still snowed on and off several times after that, and its due to do so the rest of the week. Hooray. Driving to class this morning was brutal, now the big problem is ice, not snow.

IMO: Snow > Ice

It's 46 degrees in Phoenix right now. The highs this week and next week are in the low 60's. I love this time of year in Phoenix!

Supposed to snow here tommorow, first time this season. I haven't gotten around to buying and mounting snow tires yet, so this could be disaster with my bald tires.

Either way, fun will be had. :D

Yep, you have to change tires. You need as much mechanical grip as you can get in snow, rather than the "sticky" grip you want in fair weather. The thing is, the difference is so great, you'd have terrible grip with true all terrain tires in either condition. Which is why sports cars aren't fitted with all-terrains.

But, you probably knew that.

in england last year it snowed the hardest it had for 50years.

this meant that no one had snow tyres.

got on the school bus one day got halfway up the hill near our house. didn't get anyfurther than that. that meant we got the day of school. the ironic thing is that we have quite an bad bus so the people who had the hodges buses (6 wheelers) could get up the hill and on to school. lol

none of us in england were prepared for the snow. We just complained as we ussually do.

that is my life story.

I knew that but i can't imagine having to change tyres all the time, once every 2 years is enough for me. :p

Meant to reach 30C today, not much wind, perfect. :)

You have to change tyres when it snows?
No, you must certainly don't have to change them. A decent set of All Season tires work well enough.

Unless you're Keef. :dopey:

You have to change tyres when it snows? That would suck. :odd:

It's helpful and necessary if you have a 1.) high performance car 2.) summer only tires or 3.) drive a lot in snowy conditions. I do about 7,500 miles in the snow and have less then perfect tires for the snow so I got snow tires. Still waiting to see how they fair though.

Was driving home from Pittsburgh and got hit with a decent snowstorm. Total accumulations were about an inch... And, as usual, people couldn't drive..

Cheers

Huge, fluffy snowflakes coming down, 15°.

Fresh blanket of sparkly white on everything actually looks pretty good. 👍

Overcast... Supposed to rain today Woot!

EDIT: Well it just went from 80% chance to rain and overcast to sunny skies and partly cloudy. Tomorrow there is a chance of a thunder storm.. But it will likely just be another boring sunny day.

It was supposed to be raining today, but it was surprisingly warm when i went for a bike ride. (around 28C) Usually 28C is beautiful but it was muggy and humid. :grumpy:

It's moderately cold, moderately snowy and moderately windy out right now. Not bad at all I say.

Looks like we're supposed to get a blizzard thing with heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain and wind from Tuesday night through Thursday morning. I'm definitely looking forward to frisbee golf in that! :D
