Things That Really Annoy You In GT6

OK so there are a lot of things to like because it has cars and tracks, but the things that I don't like stand out more. Why? because I just paid £40 for practically the same game.

There is a lot of tear up when turning the corners. Lot of pop ups and slow down. Some bugs here and there-a weird light on the right hand side in the first tunnel on Grand Valley etc etc.
Is there no one click install? Waiting ages for each little install.
AI is still terrible.
Standard cars still look terrible (e.g no holes on Mugen S2000 00 exhausts)
Exhausts don't glow red hot, this should be especially noticeable at night
Replays are rubbish with an even more annoying menu
Shadows still not fixed
Too many Miatas
Too many rubbish Japanese cars
Not enough epic European Cars (Who does their European research?) (Fire him)
Menus still terrible
Chase cam rev counter etc rubbish (GT5 was better)
I don't know what the tyre indicator means (No explanation) What does 10 mean? What is the optimum colour? Orange?
The body roll that was implied would be there just isn't, it's basically the same as GT5
They have changed the engine sound of the McLaren MP4 12C (To more accurate?) Sounds worse
Where is the McLaren MP4 12C GT car, it won the most races of the GT3 championship in its début year. (Not good enough for your game PD?)
Menu views of car is not very good. Not inventive or inspired at all
Damage still rubbish
Need to go in and put traction control off all the time. There should be an option to turn it off for all cars with one click
Tuning menu is still crap
Not enough car personalisation (If PD are going to leave out for example the SLR 722 GT then at least give un an editor to make something similar. Lots of other examples, the MP4 12 C has a few other versions now but only one in the game
the graphics really aren't that much better, it's very flat looking especially on the first 2 HD TV's I tried it on (Samsung then Sony) My Panasonic is a bit less flat thankfully

It doesn't feel as rewarding to drive as GT5. I can't explain it, but when nailing a sequence of corners on a track like Suzuka on GT5 felt so good, on GT6 it feels messy even when I do nail it.

I'm a McLaren fan can't you tell lol. Don't know why I don't have an Xbox and the new Forza whatever number they are on. Think the last one I played was 3 and even that was better then GT6.

This game is worth about £15. Hopefully a lot of major updates are coming.

Agree with most of that!

-> Bad sounds;
-> Night racing / headlights - too dark in some tracks like Motegi, you can't even see the road;
-> Frame rate in some situations become really bad, may be it gets better when the game is fully installed.
I also noticed that if I use the musics from my ps3 HD for racing, the frame rate gets really worse.
Other than that the game is amazing and way improved over gt5.

Really need to make the tire screech adjustable in volume in comparison to the engine.

What's fun about driving at night and not being able to see? That's crazy!

But mostly I like the game a lot. I give it a 9.1 out of 10. Forza 5 gets a 2.5, since there is 25% of the game left.
so according to you this is one of the best games of all time? Don't let gamespot determine what you rate games, this game is a honest 8/10 if you look past sound and graphics flaws. You have a full 1-10 10 numbers plus fractions to use to rate games. People need to use them.

Every game you think is good that you like isn't 9/10. 4/5 maybe but not 9/10. That's just not objective at all.

It's not up to you to determine what other people rate their games either.

The three exact same major issues from every other GT game still persist :banghead:.

Crap AI
Awful car sounds
Rolling starts

When will they ever learn?

- Barely/not at all improved engine sound samples/exhaust/intake noise.

- The standard DB9 ditching its original wheels for the higher poly but much more inaccurate premium version's wheels.

- Not a single accuracy improvement to details of previous premium cars.

- Non-working/badly mis-calibrated gauges on newly introduced cars.

- Hell, any other visual inaccuracy with the newly introduced cars. I thought everything after the Aventador will match its exterior and interior quality at least.

(The rear wheels of the Vision MB stick out from the tires, the LFA Nurb's wheels are very poor, the new Mazda 2's front wheels are too near to the doors, etc, etc)

These so called endurance races, What the hell were PD thinking, Having just attempted the Willow Springs 20mile challenge all I can say is WTF, 8 laps ? wow such a challenge, Entry requirements (Normal Car) so why on this earth did I have to race against a Ferrari FXX it is not a bloody road legal car for crying out loud, Sport Softs in this race will last about 6 laps, The fuel gauge goes down faster than a strippers knickers, I could go on and on even GT4.5 was better than this mess.

They made the game way better so there's nothing much worth complaining about but...

That red dot that goes around the track at the race start menu screen goes way too fast!

the whole effin game annoys me. its gt5 with a few new cars. no ocd, no ucd, no bspec, no endurance races, low credits, a lack of decent prize cars. but they did add 1 thing: a GT store, where these conmen known as PDI expect people to pay for credits to buy the better cars. yeah right

The most annoying thing for me thus far has been running Willow Springs and Lemans 2013 at night. The headlights do not light the road on either track [at least not in the cars I was using] and it was impossible to see the road over most of the track. If not for the driving line there would have been no way to keep the car on the road.

When I drove Nurburgring the lights worked fine and gave a realistic lighting which is what I expected on the other tracks but ...

I hope they fix this right away.

I have not noticed any rubber banding. I have been taken out by the AI a few times and I have fallen behind as a result. I saw no evidence of the AI slowing down other than a few cases where it was just one car way out front which did back off a bit on the last lap. That to me is not rubber banding as I would very likely do the same thing, it is not to let the others catch up but to avoid making a mistake on the last lap by driving harder than you need to.

I have had a few races where the AI had a faster car than me. I was able to overtake in a corner but then the AI could overtake me on the straights. In GT5 it was easy enough to block them and hang on to the win but I have saw in GT6 the AI car [some of them anyway] may pit you if you try to block them. Has happened to me a few times so far. Pretty cool actually :)

Ive noticed some headlights make the road look weird, most noticeable in Daytona Road course, makes the road look blocky like its from gt1

Were there no standing starts in GT4? I somehow thought I remembered there being some. I guess, I was misled by the fact there was quali.
Anyway, there's no good reason not to implement standing starts in single player mode, when it works just fine oline.
Maybe Kaz just doesn't care about real racing.

Kaz cares about money. The more the merrier!

-A replay every time you are done with a race.

Agreed 👍 Every race event you do they think you want to watch a replay after it .
If i wanted to watch the replay I would click on the "watch replay" button.

Early days yet though so hopefully some of these things gets fixed.

I think PD spend most of their time to make those irrelevant time changes and another minor things. Who cares if the stars are in right position? And who wants to drive on moon? I want to race. They should have focused for that. Now there is stupid and retarded AI and rolling starts. Chase and win... Boring.

I can't believe that I spend 59 euros for a bad GT5 update.

While I enjoy playing this game, I'm so glad that I didn't pay the full price, as it is really overpriced for what it is.

Which is a lame excuse if you ask me.

In GT5 I did the 24h at Nurburgring 7 times. I enjoyed them a lot. Actually enough to do it in one night on a wheel each time.

24 hours in one night? That's ... impressive.

For me its the inflexible time trial leader boards pisses me off . id prefer 100 position board with the option to delete irrelevant individual times
We dont have (yet, maybe) any kind of real time trial tho, that's mostly why I play GT :yuck: :nervous:

Finding a car you need from the dealership for certain events is still extremely tedious........ Also, how do you sell a car? That's driving me nuts!

In the main menu, you have a tab that shows you what car you can choose for certain class.
Also, before entering the race, in the screen that shows you the course limitation, go on the right column and all the way down, it will show you 3 typical opponents for that race.

And to sell a car, you cant be in the one you want to sell, otherwise the tab is grey ;)

...that - after 4 days - i just need to drive 9093 kilometers more to get the platinum. wtf? pity...

24 hours in one night? That's ... impressive.
I set a timer for my total time till I finish the event and my current record is 26 hours (all breaks included)

I am going to miss those events though.

Only one thing, that I can't believe nobody's said:

The extremely low money rewards in the early stages.

Single file starts that are almost as bad as GT5 online Seasonal's.

Side by side starts with pairings too far apart.

None racing due to AI slowdown gifting wins.

Auto starting replays.

Heavy imbalance between the money you can win and the cost of the cars.

Inappropriate cars entering a race series.

No practice or qualifying.

No endurance races.

Updates without so much as a note indicating what they fix.

A tiny number of cars available in Arcade mode.
