Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars?

I hope the cluster instruments always light up. Especially for F40 because it's always too dark.

As well. Keep the same gauges when in bumper cam. It's funny how every RPM changes from car to car, but Speed guage is always the same. I would like to have speed guage to be represented more accuretly for each car. If in car cam top seep is 160, then bumper cam gauge should be 160, not 220 for each, or whatever it is.

I would like to see the return of the prize carousel, where is the excitement in knowing what car you will get at the end of the race. This also added replay value to GT3.

Same, as long as it's nothing ridiculous. Some of the older muscle cars in GT4 had literally 25+ colors. I'd also like to see PD do what they did with certain road cars (Avantime, DB7, Speed 12, MGF, Triumph Spitfire to name just a few). I don't want a prize car to be a car I could just buy anyway, BUT this is certainly more acceptable if the car is a special color model. Do this with race cars too. Many race cars are parts of teams, with two or three (or more) cars with slight differences in livery. We saw this in GT4, with the yellow- and red-trimmed Audi R8s, as well as both models of the Pescarolos. Include these variations for all race cars, and there is really no negative to that. Another example is this -

1998gt2ru4.jpg

Note the red mirrors and the red band across the top of the windshield. Two other Oreca Vipers were in the 1998 Le Mans race, in addition to the one in the picture. One of the sister cars had blue mirrors and a blue band, the other white mirrors and a white band. (Other differences, obviously, included the car number and the driver name and flag graphics on the sides). Examples from the same team in later years -

Variety is never a bad thing, and if you go to all the work in creating a single car for the game, making two slight variations can hardly take too much of your time, and considering everyone is impatient anyway, and that you could never release the game soon enough, why not add a little bit of variety into the game? Make the yellow and red Audis available to buy, but the one with the black trim can only be won?

Whatever. I think it would be a nice touch.

onlline used car list, sell your done up, livery edited cars, one car from each person at a time, and its not on sale everyone to buy, when the first person buys its sold, oh yeah you can put your own price and description

Yeah, an online car marketplace would be really cool, they could even do online auctions where every so often some rare cars just appear and you can to bid on them, it could be done just like ebay, maybe even with a buy it now option... I would like to see that!

Another nice community feature could be an online concours d'elegance, where players submit their car and get scored on all the criteria like a real concours, then win something.

Something of thought of last night I would like, rather than pre written used car cycles it would be nice if they made their own randomiser, they could give each model car a percentage of chance it will turn up (rare cars will obviously have a much lower percentage) and if you are lucky to find a very rare car (or rare coloured cars, or low milage) you could buy it and sell in online auctions if you wish.

Obviously the colours and milage could be random too with low milage and special colours rarer than others.

i think the idea of having rare cars is good, it will make online racing a lot more interesting having a stupidly rare car, f40's on gtp come along too often dont you think

Actually, both of these very good ideas have been kicking around for years, and have been implemented in Forza 2. It has an Auction House which is exactly as you describe, and the community periodically has livery competitions, where cars are judged and prizes given out. It's one more thing which adds to the Forza community and keeps it lively.

I've thought about that too, though I'm not sure how much I like it. On the one hand, it keeps you visiting all those showrooms and used car listings. But a fixed schedule does give you the advantage of letting others who aren't as far along in the calendar know when certain special cars are coming.

Another thing is that random appearances of special cars - the Forza devs have been calling them Unicorns - could give some people a brief unfair advantage, though I don't think this is much of an issue since you can build up cars to crazy performance levels in GT5. Plus there are PP restrictions. I have been suggesting that in the used and special car listings that everything from randomly modified sports cars to tuners to full blown race cars would show up from time to time.

I do kind of like the idea, and if it is random, I wouldn't complain.

By mistake i put this on another thread. I should have posted it here:

If i change the tyres camber angles i would like to visually notice it in replays or in the garage.
Do you remember in GT4 a Honda S2000 by Amuse with a black bonnet? You could clearly see its negative camber. Because PD made it that way by default. However if you set any other car to negative camber you could not visually notice it.

If they have online used car lots or at least trading amongst players. I agree that you should only be able to sell say one version at a time. If you want to sell or the demand is there for more cars that you have built up and or tuned. Then you need to build multiple copies first. Once you place a car up for sale it becomes no assesable from your garage. Then once it is sold it is removed from your garage and you collect the credits. I would like to see all purchased parts, paint jobs, tunning settings stay with the car when it is sold. With options for down loaded content. I would expect that certain montly online competitions to give out newly offered cars or other content to the top finishers. As I have mentioned in some of my other post. I think that user created races should have the ability to charge entry fees and offer credits for prizes. What if the user created races, the race director ( person who set up the race ) could also offer cars and or parts for prizes for winning the race.

I don't think it will give much if any advantage, for one like you say PP points in many servers will even it out (btw I hate them and wont use them in my private servers) and two, the rare cars are usually not any faster anyway, for example Lotus Carlton, Subaru 22B, Corvette Grand Sport, Nissan 240RS (S11) etc, there is plenty of cars will run circles around them and even if some of the rare cars are like the Mazda 787b group B LM racer there is still plenty of common LM racers which is just as fast and even quicker.

I am thinking of it in more of a collectors/enthusiast point of view rather than 'must have fastest car' point of view.

before starting a (arcade race), it needs to give these options
1st: Night, Dusk, Day, Dawn
2nd: Clear, Foggy, Rain, Overcast

Also, in game chat, game lobby, social clubs would be fantastic!

long distance touring races (A to B) not circuit would be specatacular, they can make fictious tracks that span over 50 miles or so... but this is living in a fantasy GT world!

Hi there, XxTH3_ST1GxX. I see you have some great suggestions there, but might I recommend that you edit your first post? It's much easier. And welcome to GTP:)

It's something small, but I would really like to be able to watch a replay of me messing around on the Gymkhana course.

how about tire smoke and the ability to a brake stand burnout!

How about the ability to watch individual laps on a replay? Or to set a 'marker' during a race (eg - you're 2 hours into an endurance race, and something happens that you want to watch after the race on the replay - you should be able, through a pause menu, to make a 'marker', which makes a little note of the time. You can do this as many times as you want throughout the race, and after the race you can review those markers and go straight to the instant you want to watch again).

Pike peak racing from GT2, always loved those races.

Kaz needs to be slapped for taking it out since GT3, and not putting it back in in GT4.

if Rally does come back, ther needs to be racing modification, as well. for racing modification, it should appply to all cars. there'd be an aftermarket kit, a manufacturer kit(DTM, basically), and then a GT design one, where PD would design it instead. there should also be different categories, too. one would be like Street, anotjer would be Semi-Pro, then, Race, then Hillclimb(over-exaggerated everything think of all the pikes peak cars, the Peugot that Ari Vatanen drove, the Escudo and Cultus, respectively, the Celica pikes peak, the SAAB 93 pikes peak, the Mazda RX7 pikes peak, and MANY others.). could anyone imagine a BMW 328i pikes peak? or how about a Hummer H2 pikes peak?(i own the first, by the way... stock version, anyway...)

This has probably been said many times already, but I'd really like to have the ability to use custom soundtracks in the game.

I would like to see the return of GRINDLEWALD, RED ROCK VALLY and PIKES PEAK from GT2 and also COMPLEX STRING from GT3 these were some of the best tracks in GT . ANTTI-SAN by the way I like that idea about the custom sound tracks.

this might have been pointed out already but a class system would be nice like in Forza were the race isnt too easy or too difficult due to performance levels

That is what performance points are for. In all likely hood GT5 will be a fusion of GT4's actual parts and GT5p's PP. So say you equip a supercharger your PP increased by 100 points.

Sorry to be picky but a manufacturer kit could not be a DTM kit, DTM cars are not bodkitted road cars they are silhouettes. They are not modified road cars or based on the cars they look like. I would much prefer just to pick my own body parts to suit the style of racing I want the car to take part in. I wouldn't mind if race mods came back as pre-set kits but it would be needlessly restrictive imo.

Probably been said but engine swaps. Nothing rediculous but, would really like to add that extra element into the game. Running around in a 2jz mk3 supra would be sexy as would be throwing an rb series mottor into a 240sx. They could have the 'jdm' motors,U.S crate motors, and even euro motors. This will probably get hated on but i have always wanted this in the GT series.

I always liked the idea of engine swaps but I dont think they will put that in GT5. Engine replacement after a blown motor is more likly to be in GT5 since detailed car damage might mean cars over heating etc...
