Things you would like to see in GT5 other than cars?

Previous GT Tech demos combining both PS3 and PSP have shown that it can be used for added functionality such as Rear view Mirrors.

My idea is for Polyphony to take the PSP and using necessary software and connectivity to PS3 and turn it into a MOTEC device for telemetry recording and do in car tuning.

Want!

One of my favourite ideas in this thread so far.

Here are some ideas for [any possible] PSN DLC's for GT5:

*Purchase Cars (Cars not available in disc because they're too new or were not included like Dodge Copperhead Concept Car or HKS R33 GTR Drag)

*Purchase Tracks/Circuits/Race Locations (Ise Bayshore Expressway or Bayshore Route for Wangan Style Racing, and fictional mountain-side roads for downhill touge racing/drifting)

*Purchase Credits to buy cars and stuff in GT Mode.

*Download new races/events (to continue playing after finishing 100% of the game).

 Mate that's saying you want to buy money. Why on earth or even how is that possible?

"I'll purchase Cr 10,000 please"
"Okay, that will cost you Cr 2500"

I've heard of spending money to make money, but, that's just ridiculous.

:p

I don't say this about many things but if GT5 were to let you pay real actual money to unlock content on the disc that you just paid real actual money to own, I would stop playing GT and move on to another game.

edit: Of course, this almost certainly won't happen.

Heaps and heaps of tyre smoke and burnout competitions.

I'm kinda sceptical about the livery editor thing. I'm afraid we would just end up racing along cars with huge dicks painted on the doors and such. It would ruin the beauty of the cars.

By quote "huge dicks" unquote I'm guessing you mean people will put large male sexual organs on their cars. Well, I daren't question anybody's sexuality and I'm not, but why on earth would anyone put such profanities on their vehicle?

That and, I'm quite sure the livery editor (if there is one) would be similar to that of NFS's. It would consist of different shapes, lines, pictures etc. Unless of course they allow you to somehow download random pictures from the internet and load them into the game, in which case I see your point but otherwise, in my opinion I don't think having sexually suggestive images would be possible.

Oh, please. If there is a chance to do it, people WILL do it. But that was an exaggerated example.

I'd rather bite her clothes off, it undoubtly adds to the fun and you get where you want too, mate.

That's what I want than cars, Megan Fox. ;)

Not to question anyone sexual option, but I don't really want to have "dicks" in the game, not even as accessories. :grumpy:

Also, is there any girl in these forums? I'm sure girls wouldn't like to have a dick in the game too, not even Megan Fox.

Oh my God, what has this discussion turned into?
Either livery editor, if included, will consist of nothing more than different colour patterns and sponsors or it will give you the freedom to create.
If someone decides to create his or her view on genatalia be it male or female in the name of Art or out of misplaced humour or bad taste, it's up to them, if you want freedom don't ask for censorship at the same time.
Although depictions of sexual organs is not the thing i'm most worried about when offered full creativity, there are many more possibilities which could incite hatred which makes me think a limited option is the wise thing to do.

Flip, pearl and candy paint would be quite cool. That along with the Livery Editor and bodykits would mean I could create my own replica of the Signal R34 GTR

Or be offered a full free hand in creating like Andy Warhol was offered by BMW. ;)

I'd definitely prefer a more limited one.

Manager Mode.
Real Audience. Where you sit on the stand and watch the race.
100 Tracks.

The livery editor doesn't even have to be as insane as FM3 or Midnight Club: L.A....but if it's in, hopefully it's more creative and in depth than that of Ferrari Challenge. Tasteful liveries and can be made, and they should. GT5 can encompass so many things about cars, from driving them, to styling them, to purchasing them, to tuning them, to selling them, to sharing them, etc.

Forza 3 made me wonder how I ever managed to tune a car without an extensive telemetry suite and the ability to make adjustments from the pause menu while I'm doing test laps instead of having to quit and then restart.

So those two things are what I want to see in GT5.

some point to point races / roads to drive on would be nice, not just closed circuit's.
Also the choice to drive a convertable roof up or down would be good. soap box racing.

ewww, every STD known to man in one ugly package

I'd like to walk around a 3d garage with my cars in it (ala PGR2) and perhaps even take photos right then and there.

Earlier quote. One of the best things about PGR2. The garages were earned and each one was a cooler location. I have always wanted GT to steal this idea and make it better. They probably won't because KY has to be original.

Nevertheless a saloon with a portion of your personal car collection is money.

The main thing that I thought Sony missed the boat on was 'custom soundtracks'. That was a great aspect to Xbox360 that made every game personal to me. I don't listen to music playing GT very often but the replays could be epic with the proper tunes.

Don't get me wrong I kinda enjoy the smooth jazz menu set, but a select pre-race tune would be nice.

You know, this is said quite often by a handful of people, who keep repeating it when very few agree with them.

There are literally dozens of racing games, thanks to PC racing, which allow you to not only paint obscenity on cars with software like Photoshop, but let you import images directly from anywhere.

I have never, ever seen anything like what you fear.

What I did see made me want a livery editor more than ever, and a very comprehensive one, because I saw some stunning designs by some very talented people. I wanted this before I saw Forza. I want to create race cars. Dozens and hundreds of them, from racing history and my imagination. Here are some examples I made in Forza:

I made most of the decals myself.

Please don't tell me I have no right to do this, or I'll give you an e-diss. ;)

The level of detail people get out of forza with how little they are given is just amazing.

Dude...

Those are friggin awesome.
Like Serisouly, great designs. Does Forza let you import graphics or did you have to have the logos out of bunch of shapes in the editor?

Dude! Those are awesome.

And I know my example was an exaggerated one. It just concerns me that 12-year-old kids with no taste will ruin the beauty that PD and the car manufacturers have created.

MOST of the paintjobs are going to be mediocre anyways with great ones here and there.

some bikes would be kool

Are you serious? It's taken this long to make GT5 with just the cars. Besides, bikes don't belong. This is Gran Turismo, on the PS3. Not project gotham on the shoebox 360!:dunce:

didnt they mention bikes in the early stages of the game? cuz i remember reading something somewhere about bike since PD made that one bike game that everyone probably forgot about

For me, GT2 was the best in the series. It had so many neat ideas that they inexplicably dropped for GT3. Remember the car damage? Yes, that's right - although your car didn't show damage visually, the handling suffered as a result of your crashes. Another great thing was how the race events CHARGED you credits for participating. This added an extra level of money management; also, many of the races were limited to how powerful the cars were. This made sure that you didn't jump into a race full of honda civics with your Dodge Viper and get an easy win - something that has always plagued the GT series since GT3. My point is, PD should go back and look at the cool stuff they DROPPED and bring it back for the new game.
